In the continent Meonis, War has been a daily part of life and the several kingdoms and races fought one and another for thousands of years. Life was worthless if you were poor or unskilled, no matter your age or gender if your ruler wanted war then battles with thousands of casulties will be fought just to settle an arugement between kingdoms. Eventually however, all actions has consequences and due to the grudges formed by these battles. The mana started to become cursed and turn into a black curse against the living. Against the kingdoms that slaughter hundreds of thousands citizens because they were poor. Against the humans who slaughter the other races due to their greed. This mana curse absorbed the grudges and with no one to purify the curse the curse absorbed millions of grudges that formed in the thousand year war and turned from a simple curse into a natural disaster. The curse after a couple years exploded outwards affecting the entire continent Meonis. This curse kill all small life forms, made all but dark magic unavailable and finally raised all dead bodies in the last thousand years and repaired all damaged skeletons. While these were weak undead the curse made it impossible to normally kill them. Only Holy magic could of purify the curse, but even holy magic was lost due to war. This was the end of the continent Meonis, The only choice people had was to escape to the ocean and sail different directions hoping to reach any continent to survive and establish their kingdoms again. However, for kingdoms without oceans (Land-locked) there would be no salvation for them.
POV Kingdom Meris
The Kingdom of Meris was once the oldest and greatest empire of Meonis and ruled the entire continent until other races rebel with other humans and declare themselves independent against the empire. The Emperor ordered the genocide of the rebels and with superior numbers and skill the Empire killed every last rebel ending the other races besides humans and left millions dead. However, with the imperial army weaken other nobles declared independence from the empire and assassinating the royal family. This caused the start of the thousand year war and the fall of the great Empire Meris. Now Meris is in chaos. After a wave of death mana, magic stopped working and every pet and small animal died. The dead bodies buried around the kingdom were raised as undead and destroyed the villages and towns. Cities lasted longer if they had big walls, but cities that relied on magic barriers fared no better than the rest of the continent. Armies of millions of undead stormed the continent destroying kingdom after kingdom increasing their numbers with every death.
The only reason why Meris lasted a couple hours was due to the fact their culture was to burn their dead bodies and to throw the remaining fragments into the lake to purify the remains. Also the kingdom of Meris was located in the center of Meonis surrounded by other kingdoms. The kings of several kingdoms used messengers guarded by their strongest knights to seek alliances to unite against the undead, but Meris refused any messanger and their King decided to break taboo and seek to use blood magic to summon demons to kill the undead and save Meris. The King needed days to research the spell with the brightest minds of the kingdom, but time was not on their side. In just 4 hours everyone who had a boat escape to the ocean and all the villages and towns were destroyed. In 6 hours cities that relied on magic were destroyed and finally in 8 hours kingdoms were being destroyed. The alliance of six kingdoms fell apart in 10 hours and finally in 12 hours every kingdom besides Meris either escape Meonis or was destroyed by around 50 million invincible undead. Blood magic allowed for basic defenses against the undead, but at most it would last only 30 minutes. The King had no other choice to use the incomplete blood magic circle to hopefully summon a 'hero' that could save Meris.

The spell started to worked, but the blood barrier broke and the millions of undead broke in and started to destroy the capital.The Meris guards could do nothing to stop the undead and finally in 14 hours only the palace where the last survivors in Meonis prayed desperately for salvation and for the spell to work. The spell in question started to absorbed the mana curse to fuel the spell and finally after 10 minutes a beacon of red light broke pass the black sky and started to search for a 'hero' to summoned. However in the process of searching for a hero to summoned the undead broke into the palace and started to kill the survivors. The King and his guards hoping for a miracle only receive one last message from the system before the undead broke in.

As Merin's eyes started to close one for one last time. He saw the mana curse being absorbed from the entire continent to formed the body and clothes of the What he summoned wasn't a Demon, nor an Angel. What he summoned wasn't even Human. Merin summoned a Monster.
