Feng Lin had already met Auntie Chen, Long Ai's older sister, and Auntie Hua, her younger sister when they would come and visit. However, he had never met anyone else from the Long family. This was soon remedied.
The Long family was large. People trickled in one by one, first was Long Ai's mother, Long Yan; then her brother, Long Jian, the firstborn, and his wife, Wong Ning, and their children which were two boys around ten and eight years old; finally, her grandfather Long Jian poked his head out; her grandmother didn't show since she was in seclusion somewhere in the mountains, and lastly was her twin sister Long Ling.
This was quite a surprise to Feng Lin. Since he never knew his mother was a twin. He wasn't the only one surprised though. Long Ai was also shocked, however, it wasn't due to this fact. It was because her sister was also pregnant and her sister wasn't married.
Long Minjun seeing his mothers shocked expression asked, "Please come inside, . . . you too Ling. We need to discuss recent events. Everyone else please finish your work and we will all connect more at dinner."
Walking into the main house the wood fiber had a reddish hue on the inside as well as a pleasant fragrance. It must be cherry tree wood. Sliding a screen door to the side, they walked into a side room with a table surrounded by four cushions. Grandmother Yun joined them with tea. Once both sisters and their parents were situated a stunning tale was told.

Long Ling had left the farm a little more than a year ago since she had found work with the Wong family in the city through her sister-in-law Wong Ning. There she had worked mostly as a servant to Zhou Ling the wife of the Lord, Wong Hu. Despite liking both the Lord and Lady, she met and learned to despise Lord Wong's three sons Heng, Hui, and Xue. She also was able to see scholar Feng Yong relatively often since they both worked on the Wong estate and found him capable, charming and attractive. Jealousy festered. It was no use to tell herself to just forget. To put him out of her mind. It wasn't like there was no mutual attraction. Ling and Ai are twins after all. After Feng Yong had helped her fend of Wong Xue's unwanted advances she had asked him to escort her to her room and . . .
A hearty laugher echoed across the room. Father is such a player.

Long Farm History: Feng Lin's great-grandfather Long Jian and his wife were the founders of the farm. They own the land given by the now-deceased Lord Wong for services rendered during an armed conflict that saved the Lord's life over a century ago. They have created a cherry and pear orchard as well as rice fields on a hill. The farm now has four generations of the family living on it. Chickens, pigs, and cats roam around the yard. Small herb and root gardens grow behind protective fences. Some beehives are centered in the orchard.
