Chapter 7
Who would have thought he would forget the most important thing?
............
Authors note.
Hello again welcome aboard to the new readers and welcome back to the old and loyal ones.
...................
After Grim heard of his new bethroed he just resigned himself for the night and went to sleep.
He woke up even before the sun set and logged out. After stepping out of the capsule he called a delivery service and ordered 4 complete sets and proceeded towards the shower.
Just as he got out his doorbell rang so he put one some training pants and with a towel around his shoulders he opened the door. The delivery girl was younger them him by 1 or 2 years and she almost started to droll at his exposed upper body.
Craig paid her and gave her a warm smile before closing the door. The 5 meals , that was designated for 5 people disappeared in minutes down his throat and he brought up a screen of the world rankins of TnB.
" Hmm over 542 million users have registered so far. " Craig said in an astonished tone.
The first ranking person was still and orc with a level of 61. In comparison the next one was at level 56 and the third 54. But Craig was astounded to find a name he had not expected to be there. Grim. He had reached the ranking of exactly 100.
It was not that Grim cared about it to much since he had fun while playing but a glimmer of ambition grew inside of him. He checked a few things and set his mind on what he had to do in-game from now on.
After an hour course of jogging along the campus grounds he showered and hopped back into the capsule.
...................
He had logged out at 3 am ish , in game , and he spent 3 hours outside. Not it was close to 10 am in the elfen kingdom and he had to get ready. He took a quick bath , without any unpleasent visitors this time , and changed clothes.
After drying himself and the cocoon of he gathered a few things and stuck it inside of his pouch that was strapped at his belt. Being ready he took the short way to the front gates and there he saw 4 horses strapped to a carriage waiting for him.
" I am very sorry that you had to wait so long. " Grim said towards the Lady in a frilly dress waiting for him.
The pink haired girl stared at him but didn't say anything as he drew closer. He hopped in the carriage and as soon as he was seated it began to move. 1 hour passed. Another hour passed.
Grim knew the girl was always watching him and when he turned around to lock gazes with her she blushed a tiny bit and turned to watch the scenery outside herself. After these 2 hours Grim grew anxious and initiated a conversation himself.
" My lady , can you explain to me again where we are going and why? " Grim asked.
The girl still stared out of the window but talked nonetheless.
" We are going to the main house of Soc-relma where i have spent a few weeks now. Why ... yeah that is a difficult question. My guess would be because you are my husband to be? " She said in a voice that lacked any emotion.
Normally she would not talk very much , but Grim realized why very soon. She was afraid of the Npcs for some reason. She had no problem talking to him normally , well except the incident in the bath , which is understandable.
" I guess we are very lucky in this regard that we are elfs. We can trick them forever. " Grim stated.
Now the girls head turned around and she looked at him questionally.
" Listen , this is a merging of the most prominent house of Palanthaloses clerics with the Kings house. It is a genious move of Andulas to marry me of like this. A reason for me to venture out and become stronger and at the same time bind his house stronger with Palanthalos. Maybe even to prove myself in various tasks and gain a reputation. " Grim said.
" And they will definetly anticipate a heir to the throne from our connection. But since we are elfs that could take decades , as far as i know from the books i read. "
At his logical course of action the girl blushed furiously and looked outside of the window again to hide her embarresment.
" Listen girl , we are both adults and to top it of we are not bound by the laws of this world like the Npcs are. I will not touch you. So be at ease they can want a connection all they want but i would never touch a girl if she isn't willing herself. This connection means nothing to me. " Grim stated his intentions clearly.
Her blush disappeared and she nodded slightly.
" Good but my name isn't girl. I am Celuidh of the house Soc-relma , or you can just call me Celu. Also yesterday you gave of a complete different feeling. More aggressive... and not as polite as today. " She said.
" I am very sorry about that but i normally don't behave like that. This is my usual demanor. My guess it has to do with this little fellow " Grim said while patting the cocoon at his side.
As Celu was about to open her mouth again the carriage came to a halt and she almost bit her tongue in the process. Grim took the initiative and opened the carriage door and started to talk with the driver.
" Sire , a wheel has caught itself in some mud. I need to lift the wagon a little could you be so kind as to urge the horses onward while i lift it up? " The driver said cautiosly and was about to jump of his high seat.
" No stay. " Grim said.
To Celus surprise grim lifted the wagon up by 1 foot and shouted to the driver to spur the horses. Without incident the wagon came free and the ride continued.
She was now very curious at his actual strength and level. Even as he discussed it with the king and the god yesterday he never said anything about his level or how his combats went. Celu was burning up with a thirst for knowledge about her soon to be husband , even though it was only in name.
The ride took another 2 hours before they arrived at the main house of Soc-relma. As Celu predicted it there was a red carpet rolled from the road to the entrance of the house but Grim didn't even take one look at the immense effort her house had brought up to welcome the future King.
Instead he jumped out of the carriage and extended his hands towards her to help her out of the carriage. As soon as she was standing firm on the ground he quickly linked her arm with his and so they proceeded down the red carpet.
Under his other arm was the cocoon but while he place her hand ontop of his own he sensed warmth and a protectiorial instinct through her skin that originated from him. She felt comfortable and even imagined him in a shining silver armor. But as that thought flashed up in her mind she surpressed it and thought about how he could have altered his apperance inside of the game.
Her patron mother and father came up to them and first thanked Grim for his visit. He played with their words and even made the stoic elfs she had learned to evade to the best of her ability laugh incredibly loud.
He asked for the well being of the familiy and if there was any task that he could help with before he settled himself in. There was also a huge sized chest exchanged from Grim to her foster parents that was filled with gold coins and the best gem stones in the Kings own fortune.
Grim didn't take anything for granted and also thanked the heads of the house Soc-relma for permitting him to stay with Celu , his betrohed in a manner that made the scene from yesterday where he quarreld with a god impossible to believe if she had not seen it with her own eyes.
He received a room on the farthest edge of the west wing of the building while Celus room was to the in the eastern wing. For apperances sake they did this but Grim thought of something else.
' I understand perfectly , who would buy a cow when the milk is for free anyways? ' Grim thought amused.
During a dinner on a scale that Celu had never seen before Grim single handedly amused all the guests to this party her foster parents had invited. Easily 30 without Celu and Grim herself were entertained by storys of Grim.
He not only told some storys about how he became a Dawnlight Guardian but also storys of old taken from the chronicles of the elfen race during a darker period. Everybody was glued to his lips even Celu and she began to wonder more and more what he did in real life to have such eloquent speeches at the drop of a hat.
After the dinner was over everyone retired and Grim was back in his chambers he decided to finally open the bag he got from the Inn keeper in the starting city.
At the sight of the items he became teary eyed and took the 3 items out with great care. It was a new Mace and a new shieldguard that was etched with the symbol of the Elven kingdom. The flying pheonix.
A letter was added to it were every one he met in the town wrote a few sentences and wished him the best of luck. After this nostalgic moment Grim wiped the corner of his eyes with his sleeves and hurried into bed. After all tomorrow would be a very ... full filling day.
.......................
Celu woke up to the light chirping of some birds and proceeded her usual morning routine. Washing breakfast and then some light literature. To get to the library she had to cross the central part of the building that connected the 2 wings but as she took the steps down this Valedictorian styled house she saw a incredible sight.
5 Guards were facing Grim and 2 were already lying unconscious at his feat. Another once charged in and after blocking the guards weapon Grim turned in a 180* fashion and slammed his Mace into the neck of the guard. The guard which easily was lvl 75 went down after this one strike like a empty bag of potatoes.
The remaining 4 charged at him at the same time so Grim went on the defensive. Every sword that was about to pierce his flesh was either blocked by his shield or evaded with the slightest of movement.
After the guards stamina was exhausted Grim rushed in and used his shield offensivly to bash the one guard with his shield right in the face and slammed his mace into another. He literally outclassed the guards easily but after all was over he went to each of them and helped them up and spoke a few words with them.
All of them were already looking up to him with a glimmering light in their eyes. He had easily gained the trust of the 7 people.

" Don't worry , i had Ricolas Fab-gwain as my retainer for a while in the capitol. What happend to you here happened to me all the time. But he beat me up 20 times a day and then begged for his life whenever he hit me ... He was definetly ... unique. " Grim burst out in laughter and the guards followed.
He checked on all of them after the training exercise. Some needed slight medical supplies for their wounds but nothing that needed stitches.
" So go see the healers , and i will be more careful next time. Ohh give me your swords on the way out ill get them fixed and if anyone asked just tell them to come to me if they need a reason why you are not at your posts. " Grim said with authority.
7 swords that needed slight repairs were in his hands now so he proceeded to the smith.
" Oy boy im in the back of the shop. Saw your fight it was definetly good but still rough. " A booming male voice reached Grims ears.
He went to the back and saw a dwarf working at a oven to smelt some iron. Naturally dwarfs were smaller then regular humans or elfs but this one was a little taller then your average dwarf with about 4" 5' . His beard used to be brown as one could see at the base of his chin but the work at the forge had left burn marks and turned it black with ash.
" You are here for repair works of the guards swords , ey? Never seen a chosen one behave like that yet. To top it off i heard your the next heir? " The dwarf asked briskly.
" Yeah sorta. Well i have a reason to come here with the swords. I want to learn how to forge my own equipment and repair it at the same time. " Grim spoke his mind.
After seeing and hearing the dwarf he knew a straight forward approach would be best so he went with the flow.
" Ohh , you even got some brains. While exploring outside keeping your equipment in top condition is always a good thing. Okay lad here take this and read come back tomorrow. The swords will be repaired by me and the Guards can pick em up later. " The dwarf said and shooed Grim out.
* tring*
You have received the skill book " repairs for beginners "
Even though it is a skill book not everything will be absorbed in a matter of minutes
Read the book carefully and when you understand its concept the correspondent skill will be created
Without delay he sat down below a tree and read the book. When night approached he finally heard the familiar sound and this time he didn't even find it as annoying
* tring*
The skill repair has been created level (0/100)
Allows slight repairs on works that a Blacksmith has created
Necessary requirement , varies on the amount of repair that has to be done.
With a satisfied grin he placed the book in his inventory , picked up the cocoon that was right besides him the entire time and went to the dining hall.
As the next day dawned he trained some more with the guards and even thought Grim got more adapt at fighting the guards even wounded him a few times today as their fighting style adapted as well.
Since Grims wounds were minor scratches he proceeded with their damaged weapons to the smith. He was greeted with some mumbled words and curses.
" Boy , don't increase my workload any more then this! " The dwarf told him.
" Master smith , i wanted to repair these swords myself i learned everything from the book you gave me yesterday. " Grim said.
The dwarf eyed him suspiciously as Grim gave the skill book back and showed him to a work station that the dwarf currently did not occupy.
Grim accuratly repaired the slight damage and showed his work to the dwarf after he was done.
" Well good enough , but boy can you help me for a while? " The dwarf said.
* tring*
You have received a Quest
Repair the broken equipment
Progress 0/100
Accept Yes/No
Reward varies
" Yes i would be delighted to help. " Grim said and accepted the quest.
The dwarf smith showed him the pieces that were slightly damaged or needed sharpening first and told him to increase his proficeny with those first before he moved on to the armors and blades that were cracked or damaged worse.
First Grim sorted them into 3 piles. Slight repairs , heavy repairs and damaged beyond repair were the piles. The pile which required slight repairs made up about 60% and the ones that were not repairable about 10%.
Grim sharpened and polished out the sharts and curbs the swords had received before he turned his attention to the pile that required defter repairs. He used a flint stone to ignite some straw that was lying around and fired up cole in a oven.
Then he placed some Breastplates and swords with cracks insides and heated them up. Grim used the air bag with a handle besides the forge to heat up the coles better and received a white glowing fire soon enough.
As the equipment was white glowing itself he took it out and handled the slashed or stabbed iron with a hammer until they were spotless again. After he was done with one he placed it inside of a water filled basin to cool them off quickly.
He finished with all the equipment and noticed the sun had long ago shined its last rays for today and told the smith of his progress.
" Master dwarf im done , There are about 10 items that are in too bad of a shape for repairs shall we melt them down and create new ones? " Grim asked.
The dwarf was smiling and didn't reply at first as he knowingly waited for the next thing to take the natural course.

Quest has been completed and as a reward a new skill has formed
The skill blacksmithing has been created due to your observant eye while repairing
Either using raw ore to smelt down or using broken equipment Iron can be created and reforged into new shapes
Level (0/100)
" There we go tomorrow i will teach you how to create equipment proficiently. " The dwarf said with another smile.
Grim washed his hands in a close by water bucket to get the huge chunks of sooth of his hands and picked up the cocoon and took his usual evening routine of bathing , chaning and sleeping.
He logged out as Grim was already in bed and took a shower and used his incredible skill in real life to create the best dishes he could manage. Some ramen. After eating and a quick work out he went for a jog and exactly after 1 hour and 30 minutes logged back in.
It was 4 am in-game but Grim couldn't sleep since the work of a smith required one to wake up early and work late. With renewed vigour he proceeded to the smith where the Dwarf was already working.
" Ahh there you are boy. First lets get the basics down. " The dwarf said and urged him to come closer.
Until sunrise Grim smelted raw ore and fetched the impuritys that swam at the top off with a iron bucket. Shortly after he made a few Iron Ingots while filling the liquid iron into a form the dwarf had created before hand out of a strong and sturdy rock that reminded Grim of basalt. The dwarf even began to explain why.
" Listen boy , sure we could use the liquid ore and create raw forms of swords and other things out of it but then the stuff will break more easy. When they are in Ingot form we heat them and fold them about 5 times. Once we are done with that we beat them into shape. " The dwarf said.
Grim did what he was told. First he placed 10 ingots into the furnace and waited for the first to be white glowing. He took it out and beat it into a thinner ingot. Then he placed half of the now thinner ingot over the anvil into midair and beat it into a 45* angle before returning it completly over the anvil.
While beating the now deformed ingot it cooled and he placed it back into the furnace. He took the next one out and replicated the first step untill all 10 looked like a crude iron bumerang.
Next he shoveld more cole into the furnace and took out the first ' L ' ingot he created and beat the L back into a normal ingot. As he did this with all of them he repeated the cycle again and again until he had done it 5 times with all of them. Then the dwarf came by again.
" Good very good. Now boy you take a ingot and use the biggest hammer i got in store and beat the ingot into a rough sword shape then put it back in the furnace. " The dwarf told him the next step.
Over and over he did this and the dwarf came by to tell him the next step. The dwarf was delighted at the fast progress Grim was making and when he was about to combine the last unsharpend sword with the hilt the dwarf came by and was very proud
" Now look at your own work and be proud not many new Blacksmiths create raw sword like this! Now you only have to sharpen them. " The dwarf said.
Now the dwarf explained more things on how to sharpen the swords the best way but a loud cracking sound came from their right side. Both Grim and the dwarf looked in the direction where Grim had placed the cocoon in a layer of soft leather.
Grim heard a loud * tring* and looked at the creature first as he saw a complelty snow white thing crawling out underneath the brown leather. If Grim outstretched both his hands and fingers it was the span of this new borns wings. Its body was long and thin the same with its legs. It had 8 black eyes that flimmered in the same golden light that Grim had from time to time.
It was a mix between a Butterfly , the wings , the body of a Wasp and the eyes and legs of a spider. Now Grim checked the window that had pooped up.
- The Fae worm was pupped into a Fae Mothra
As it is a new born it needs his soul bonded partners help.
Depending on the help it receives now it will mutate in different ways
NOTICE: Faes of any kind are willfull they will cause trouble
