Status Update - Indefinite hiatus

Hi All,

I just wanted to say thanks to all those who have read BOM and have been waiting patiently for an update/continuation.

I had planned on completing the six or seven chapters before the end of the book (Ending at the start of the Huntsmen trials), however, life (and motivation) just hasn't given me a chance. The idea was to complete then start preparing the book for an e-book but due to life/work commitments, I can safely say that this will not be happening in the next 3-5 years. It also didn't help that BOM is a re-write of The Summoned, which locked down the story somewhat (and felt like I had already written).

With this in mind, I am putting BOM on Indefinite hiatus. When I get the rare moment to write, I want to focus my efforts on a more enjoyable (at least for me) area. If all goes according to plan, and things settle down in the future, (Involved in an intense 5-year tech startup) when I sell up and make my 'millions', I will settle down and use my time to write/finish and publish my works.

For those who would like to know how Book 1 ends, please read the spoiler below:

Spoiler: Spoiler

Mors accompanies Verz and gets his custom-built, duel element weapon (same as The Summoned). Surprising the forge master, Mors takes an active role in the process, using his darkness attribute to absorb the heat in the room and temper the weapon.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

Not staying with the others due to the disturbance in the inn earlier, Mors and Verz leave the town only to be ambushed by the countess and her lackeys. The Countess wants to capture Morz, his attitude and body attracting her curiosity. After failed negotiations, in which the Countess attempts to 'Buy' Mors, Verz fights and kills the Countess and co.

Retreating to the woods near the rendezvous point, Verz reflects on her actions, knowing that killing the countess is going to create a lot of trouble in the future. Drinking to help 'forget' her worry, Verz realises that the reason she acted, which was considerably out of character for her, was because since she had known Mors, back at the summoning, and then on the battlefield, as well as the intense training after, he had gained a unique, special place in her heart, triggering her motherly instincts.

Continuing to drink, Verz opens up to Mors and tells him her story (Same as The Summoned). Mors has also bonded with Verz over their travels but only as a companion. Seeing Mors so reluctant, and under the influence of copious amounts of alcohol, Verz declares that she is adopting Mors, officially making him her family and successor. Mors is shocked and tries to discover a hidden plot but relieved of the burden she had been subconsciously carrying, Verz is struck with the need to train Mors as much as she can before he leaves for his trial.

The next morning, the others wait for Mors and Verz, only for them to appear fighting each other. It appears that Mors lost a best, one that would make Verz keep her plead to adopt him and make him a successor, a secret, and so, she openly tells the others. The other huntsmen respond in varying ways, but none positive and as they finally separate and the trial starts. (End of book one).

Thanks again and sorry for the disappointing news,

All the best,

Skada.
