I was scared…
This mission was supposed to be easy. It was simple, we would go to the south in search of more resources and subjugate or enslave any sub-humans we came across.
In front of our troop was a small village bordering a single mountain.
But that isn’t what scares me…
There are around 500 creatures in front of us, all at least 8 feet tall, with poleaxes a grown man couldn’t wield. With the combination of large black horns and crimson skin, I could tell that they easily intimidated my subordinates.
But that isn’t what scares me...
What scares me is that they are in a formation of some sort and have finely processed metals. This is only something that humans and demi-humans should be capable of, not lowly sub-humans, who usually just try and swarm their opponents.

Their formation parted almost perfectly, and one passed through.
This one’s horns were longer and also curved upwards near the end.
It calmly walked towards our army.
“Who dares trespass on the god-king’s land?”
“T-This land belongs to the human kingdom of Est-” One of the frontliners tried to speak to the it but...
“This land belongs to the Legion, not you invaders!”
The footman’s head could be easily seen from my position, high above the others.
“For the God-king!”
“For the God-king!”
“For the God-king!”
I heard a battle cry among the enemy warriors, this is going to be a problem.

I was currently standing on the mountainside watching the events of the battle. It was in our favor and in expectations.
Any wounds the enemy soldiers could deal, were instantaneously healed. With the large attack area of the poleaxes each swing from our side killed 3 or 4 men. The enemies were quickly being pushed back and none of our soldiers have died yet.
I could alse see various flames and red auras burst on the frontlines. Legionnaires naturally have access to two magics: fire magic and blood magic.
Fire magic is self-explanatory, but blood magic isn’t the ritual magic of sacrifice and the like, but more on the lines of bloodlust and slaughter.
A legionnaire had to choose between one of the two magics, otherwise the magics would be weak and borderline useless. There were abnormals and irregularities of course, those who could use both paths or even a new magic in itself.
However I created the Legionnaires to be living war machines, fire and blood seemed to be the best option for that.
I have given the order to try and surround the opposing army and prevent them from escaping. Time for slaves galore. Free production and a workforce, sweet.
