Earth is one of two worlds, each in a parallel dimension, or reality. While both worlds share the same name, and most of the same landmasses, the similarities end there. But to explain this, first we must explain how these two worlds were created.
Thousands of years ago, when there wasn't much to the vast reaches of space beyond lots of huge lumpy rocks, stars, and floating debris, something lived, moved, and explored within the wide reach of the cosmos. It had no form, or really much of anything physical at all. But it was powerful, and the rules we apply to the world around us today never even occurred to it, far beyond them as it was. If we were to see it as it was then, to us, it would seem like its power was limitless. But for an for something that has existed for an uncountable number of years, boredom does not come easily, and so it was content with the vast emptiness it called home. It didn't really occur to it that it would ever have need of the powers it possessed. But eventually, it had a thought, and this thought, as they do, led to ideas. Ideas of more. More than just boulders and spheres of plasma floating through the cosmos with it. More than just... objects. And so it decided to make this more.
That's where we come in. Or at least, that's what I assume you're thinking. After all, this must have been when it made galaxies, solar systems, planets, life. And it did. But us, and our planet were not the first of its creations. No my friend, we were in fact little more than an afterthought. What it made first was a planet whose inhabitants would one day call Earth. No, not ours. This was the first Earth, the true Earth. This world possessed something that made wild things possible, feats of strength and power we would call miracles. This something was a gift from the all powerful being for its first creation. After it created this world, and the beginnings of life, that it knew would one day grow into a great many beings, it left, happy not to be alone. But when it did, it realized that out of all that it had created in order to build this world, there was still some left. And that, my friend, is where we come in.

This being saw no point in simply destroying what it had created when it could simply make more life with it, and have another world full of life to keep it company. But it did not want to create this other world where it could one day connect with the first. So it did the first random thing that popped into its thoughts. It created a mirror reality holding all the same things as the first, except for the true Earth. And then it made a copy of that Earth.
It was smaller than the original of course, being made of just the excess material, but it was the same in every way but mass. Well, almost the same. It was deprived of the gift given to the being first creation. But the life on it was identical to the first Earth, and would likely grow mostly the same as the life there would. Then, having completed its goals, the being left.
And eventually, after enough time passed, we popped up. And I'm sure you know what came next, at least for us, and our planet.
