Restructured

As I regain consciousness I see grass, green grass for the first time since I can remember. At first I think it is because there is no way I could be outside of the place I was confined. But as I feel the heat on my back I look up and realize, I can see the sun.

I am in disbelief in how I am outside, how I escaped from that terrible place I had been. I try to think of plausible reasons for my escape and come up with a theory. My theory is that when the thing took over my body it took my body to where I now reside.

Now you may be asking “ How do you know that for sure?” and “ Where is your evidence for this?” Well my evidence for this is my body.

For as I look down at my body to make sure I am not wounded or damaged in any way I pause at the sight of my hands and feet. Surprisingly they are still there and not completely removed like they had been earlier. The reason for their continued existence instead of them not being there is obvious to me after seeing them.

The thing is now a part of me. My hands and feet are now many up of the black, oozy, multi eyed substance that is that thing in the basement.

Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.

I recoil in shock and horror at the sight of them, in utter disbelief that it is now a part of my body. I try to move them to see if I can still control them and surprisingly it works.

I then try to touch them and they go through each other, as if incorporeal. This will surely be quite an annoyance in the future when trying to pick things up. I then test my feet, hoping they work so that I can walk, and luckily, they do.

Next I try to stand up, but that is incredibly difficult from how long I spent immobile. On my first attempt I don’t even get into the position to push myself up as a result of my weak arms. On my second attempt I get to the position but I can’t push my self far enough. On my third attempt I get to the point of being on my knees. But on my fourth attempt I finally succeeded in standing up so I can walk. But then I realize, I don’t remember how to walk.

I try to move my left leg forward in an attempt to walk but I stumble and fall down, fortunately I land on my hands instead of my head. I get up again and try to walk again. This time I put my right leg up and forward then onto the ground in quick succession, this time it works. It takes a bit but eventually I can walk again.

Now that I can walk again I realize I should take the time to look at my surroundings. As I look around I see that I am in a large clearing surrounded by a vast forest, stretching as far as the eye can see.

I observe it and see that there is no noticeable path or trail leading through the forest, just trees and dirt.

I think that I should probably go to the the forest before a suffer from a lack of water or food, after who knows how long I have been here.

I walk up to the forest, it takes a while but I get there eventually and I start exploring…
