Meet the Villain - (2)

At first the humans on earth lived on the isolated isle of Cravia. Cravia was surrounded by oceans on all sides. Reasonably, Humanity met all the other races that existed on the earth quite late.

Geographically, Cravia was located in the east-southern hemisphere. ( Similar to Australia)

For centuries, Cravia’s native race, the humans, had always lived and prospered in Cravia peacefully.

But this peace was short-lived.

Under the rule of King Vale, a fleet of ships landed on Cravia’s eastern docks. They came under the guise of merchants. Due to the striking similarity in the appearances, they successfully infiltrated Cravia.

King Vale was never born the king of Cravia. He was born as the prince of the country of Xander. Xander was a small kingdom in southern Cravia. But the Cravia then was too divided. Xander in the south, Furnious in the west and north and Rileir in the east respectively. These three kingdoms primarily dominated the whole of Cravia.

After his accession, Vale set out on a journey to conquer all of Cravia under the banner of Xander Kingdom. Nearly twenty years later, using his own wits and battle genius. After a period of continuous clashes and wars, Vale succeeded in becoming the First KIng of United Cravia.

Unfortunately, Vale was also the last king of Cravia.

After the infiltration, the Intellica soon colluded with the Conservatives of Furnious and Rileir to assassinate King Vale. Using their special powers Intellica succeeded in reining Cravia under their rule.

The Conseravtive forces that drooled at the aspect of ruling Cravia were backstabbed. The Intellican Forces after establishing the hold over the Cravian Capital got rid of the Conservatives first.

Instead of a Kingdom or any similar hierarchy, a proper administrative system was placed in order. Later it was found that the Intellican forces were far more advanced in terms of technology than Cravia.

A/N:

(Cravia = Middle Ages/ Mediaeval Period

Galia (Intellica) = Modern / Urban )

The death of King Vale was viewed as a black day in the history of Cravia. It was later known as ‘The Fall.’

After the Fall, through systematic methodology applied by Intellica. Cravia was ‘civilised.’

New technology and knowledge was introduced. Proper education centres were established. But it wasn’t all good. Not everyone welcomed the ‘Intellica.’

The unorganised and straying resistance soon united under the banner of the ‘Resistancia.’ The Resistancia is composed of tribal regions and various regions in the countryside. The main force of the Resistancia were the rural areas that had remained untouched and isolated previously.

Intellica resorted to violence. But they weren’t the ones that carried out the extermination. Due to the low numbers they were stretched thin. But that did not mean that they had lost their influence.

The humans of Cravia that were aware of the sheer brutality and power of Intellica yielded. Thus, soon many served the Intellica.

Under the orders of Intellica, the Resistancia was subdued with force. Houses were burned and looted. Women were exploited.

Man killed man.

It was in true sense a one-sided slaughter. It was the “Extermination of Resistancia.”

A soft knock came at my door. I straightened out my night wear and corrected my posture.

“Enter.”

A middle aged woman servant entered with a tub of hot water in her hands.

“Master Reid, the bath is ready. Would you like to be bathed?”

The woman asked with a smile.

“Place it next to the bed. And no thank you, I can bathe myself.”

“Sure.”

She turned to leave. Closing the door partially, she peeked inside.

“Would you be having your breakfast in your room? Or as usual?”

“As usual.”

“Sure. Please be ready for breakfast in an hour.”

“Yes.”

She left, shutting the door.

Personally, I preferred eating in my room. But breakfast with family was nearly a ritual for Reid. So, it might be suspicious if I did not attend the breakfast today.

An Hour Later.

I headed down to the dining area. Pushing the large wooden door, I came face to face with my father as he sat on the head of a long dining table. The dining table could seat more than thirty people.

Father.

Carrwen Danquers was a dignified and principled man.

A horseshoe moustache on his face. Traces of white hair in his beard. Similar to me, purple streaked hair in the front. He was a handsome man. Though time had dirtied his face with a few wrinkles. The glow of the face was still there. But following mother’s death the spark that his eyes once had was now unfound.

Sitting on his right was my elder sister.

Rachel.

She was beautiful. Too beautiful. I knew that I had written her as a beautiful character whose gait oozed with elegance and poshness. But when I saw it in real life. It was really nerve wracking.

She wore a long white gown that had a tinge of yellow. Long dark hair fell down her shoulders. She too had a purple streak of hair like father and me. The fragrance of her fresh perfume washed me over as soon as I entered the room. I could now understand Kyle’s dilemma now that I had seen her in person.

Unfortunately, Rachel hated me. She blamed me for our mother's death. She wasn't naive enough to actually believe that I had killed her during my birth. But still it pained her to look at me, the constant reminder of Mother's death.

Taking my seat, on my father's leftside I greeted them politely.

“Good Morning.”

“Good Morning Reid.” A deep voice greeted me.

“Good Morning.” Came another nonchalant reply.

Though the indifferent look on Rachel’s face hurt me, I continued to maintain my calm demeanour.

“Reid, I have thought about this for a while now. You will be joining the Academy this year.”

‘Oh! It was this scenario.’

The Academy.

The Academy was the place where Kyle and Reid would meet. The story would actually begin when Kyle would cross the Southern Ocean to travel from Cravia to Galia.

If my estimations were correct then it would be only after two months that Kyle would reach Galia and it would take about three more weeks for him to reach the academy. I had to soon travel to the Academy and start the preparations.

Of course to give Kyle a rather ‘warm welcome.’
