Anji woke up disoriented, blurry eyed, muscles aching and retching her innards in the damp metal floor. And that god-awful siren ringing was like a hammer pounding her head right into her brain.
When her vision focused, she saw that she is in a cramp metal dark room with red lights going off and on, increasing her migraines.
Lulu.
Anji scanned the room, desperately looking for a little girl. "Lulu!" She shouted, almost in panic. But her words were more of a croaked than an actual shout. It was like her throat is coated by sand paper and painfully dry.
She stood up by herself under wobbly legs simply by the force of her own will. She tried to take a step forward but it was no used. Her legs were not obeying her and remained asleep. The pain in her muscles grew by every second until she was greeting her teeth every time she moved from her place.
Something is wrong with me, She realized. But stubbornly, Anji crawled toward the deeper bowels of the room.
That doesn't matter right now. What matters is that I find her. To make sure she is safe. Right in my arms.
The pain slacken, or maybe she is just getting used to it, but either way, her mobility grew rapidly as she begun crawling from the floor.
She needs to see her and hold her. Where the hell is she?!
Anji shuddered. The device reminds her more of a sarcophagus than an entertainment device that kept her alive. She saw a plastic-like covering at the bottom of the device. She grabbed it and covered her nakedness.
She look around and saw 2 other capsule of unknown design and purpose. This wasn't the same gaming capsule that they hid from. This one is more complex and... robust. She didn't noticed when the pain in her legs were bearable enough that she actually stood up and tried to pry the lid off the machine. She wasn't successful. She tried to calm down and look to the side for any buttons. She find several but with an unknown symbols attached to them. She studied it for a second longer then choose the one that look important and suddenly the machine vibrated and lights started to appear. The machine opened and a hiss of pressurize air escaped the ground. The machine opened on its own and...

Nothing.
The machine like capsule is big enough to be occupied by a full grown man but the capsule was empty. Frantically, Anji opened the others and they too were empty.
Like a wild animal, Anji looked around hoping to find a hiding place the child might have hidden, a cubicle, a box, anything. But the small room could not possibly hide Lulu in its cramp space.
The child was gone. She failed in protecting her.
All the pent up anger, pain, and loss, for the death of her family, which was all so recent to her, simply came out and she could not hold it back anymore. There was no reason to. She screamed her heart out as she fell to the grimy floor, defeated.
She didn't know how long she cried there in a fetal position, but she remembered when she stopped and dried her face and basically decided right then and there that she will move on.
You are an Agayarri. You are a fighter just like me. The echo of her dad's words still rings clearly in her soul. She stood up on trembling legs and took a step forward.
And just then a metal door slid open and two humanoids enter the room.
"-Piece of shit bucket is literally disintegrating before our eyes and the captain is too cheap to repair it. What is wrong this time?"
"The escape pods are blinking red. Probably the air telemetry is showi-"
Both newcomers stop dead in their tracks as they saw Anji just standing there.
The one in front pulled out a sword -a freaking sword! Anji took a step back.
"Whoah, guys! I'm not here to do any trouble! I-"
The one in the back threw a black disk, like a hockey puck, on the ground and it slid right next to Anji. She stared at it for a second then everything around her turned bright blue. Then nothing.
