Chapter 1

Anita woke up to the sound of the radio blasting news about the war. She knocked on the side of her rusty metal bed to see if her twin sister, Aniki (sleeping on the second deck of the bed), had woken up. Not yet. She and her sister looked exactly the same with the unique combination of red hair and blue eyes, which often make them stand out in the crowd. It wasn’t even near waking time at the orphanage. She yawned, rolled over and lied there listening to the radio downstairs. It had become her daily routine since her director didn't look like he was going to let Anita listen to the news any time soon because he was afraid that she, a 12-year-old girl, would freak out if she knew clearly what was happening. But Anita knows more information than the director needs to know. Not very wise of him when he tuned the radio on maximum volume, she thought, especially when he doesn’t want people to hear. She closed her eyes and listened intently. The radio was talking about the history of the war and how it happened.

“Why isn’t the radio updating news about the battles, military or at least reporting about the deaths of some warriors? “ she thought bitterly as she put her face in the pillow. It seemed like even the radio was trying to keep her in the dark by telling yet again how the war happened, despite the solid fact that it’s useless in the situation when war is already raging nearly everywhere.

“Hello, this is The Moon's weekly news.  I’m Thomas Warwick and today we’re bringing you the sad story of how the current war happened .”  started the raspy voice of the reporter “Princess Luna was kidnapped and killed on the territory of Sun, reason unknown. Sun and Moon police officers have both invested in the case but found no clues, many terrorists and serial killers from Sun have also been suspected, but because none of them had been caught, they can’t be interrogated just yet. The king of Moon had declared war on Sun until they could explain why Princess Luna was abducted and assassinated with good reasons, assuming there were no props which could accidentally lead to her death. Now to you, Micheal, for further information on the police’s effort in capturing the murderer ....”

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Finally, the annoyingly loud morning alarm, which can probably be heard across the town, went off. Anita sat up, stretched and said to her sister, trying not to laugh at her messy hair and scruffy clothes: “Hey Aniki”

“Sup?”  Aniki replied as she stifled a yawn and kicked off her blanket to the corner of the bed.

“Got any sleep last night?”  She asked.

“Not so much. The karaoke was roaring so loud last night, I didn’t get any sleep until 2 A.M. Really, they did some first grade work to kill my ears.”

“No argument there,”  Anita agreed.

The orphanage director voice boomed from the speaker:

“Because we have hit our budget, you kids are getting no breakfast and going straight to your chores, if you aren’t done by noon, no lunch too.”

“Well, looks like we need to get going,”  muttered Aniki, jumping down from her bed, not minding that there’s a broken plank.
