The glowing light disappeared and a few pop ups showed the skills Von had learned. Since Von had just obtained a class. He walked of the old librarian and handed him the book so his quest would be completed.
Relationship with the gnomes has increased.
Von decided to read as many books about Lavias as he could find in the Library and after 6 hours he saw a popup that said intelligence +1 and wisdom +1. Noticing that stats can be increased by just reading books he was thinking of staying at the library for as long as he could till his stomach started to growl. Von checked his inventory and only saw 10 rype breads, 10 pieces coppers, and a canteen for water. Von tried to bite the bread but it was hard as a rock and his jaws felt like it could break from eating dry piece of bread. The thought of eating that dry piece of bread for a month was just to unthinkable so he decided to message his sister for advice since family members are automatically added to your friends list in royal road. Von looked at his friends list and saw the name riven (his sisters in game name) and whispered to her.
"Sis you their." Von whispered not knowing if he got his voice across or not.
"..."
"Yea, what do you need?" replied Riven.
"How Do I get something to eat that is not dry old bread?"
"hehehe." whispered remembering about her noob days of eating rye bread that made your teeth break from chewing it. and then said "You can go to a restaurant and work their for money and get free food to eat or just find a quest and buy some food."
"Thanks sis talk later."
With an empty stomach Von left the library to find some food. He first went to the general store and found out their was no way to eat good food from the money obtained by low level quests and went to look for a restaurant. He managed to find a dinar like restaurant, and asked if he could work their. For the rest of the month he worked at the restaurant and read books in the library about Lavias and how it got to be what it was today. Von learned the cooking skill and leveled it 3 and earned 9 gold from his work. Von looked everywhere but eventually gave up on trying to find how Lavias got to the sky and the only information he had was from Eden. He tried to get information from the wizard tower a few times, but it seemed useless because unless you were a gnome you got ignored.
Having gotten many popups from reading his Intelligence and Wisdom was now 45. Before leaving the town Von decided to go to the mages guild to get some basic spells to fight rabbits. When entering the mages guild he saw Eden just sitting on the customer service desk reading a book.
Von:"Hey, whats up Eden?"
Eden:"what are you doing here?"
Von:"I came to buy some basic magic spells but since your here I have something to ask you."
Eden:"Ask away child."
Von:"Since I can't get anything from the wizard tower can you tell me how Lavias stays floating in the sky without a huge amount of energy to propel it into the air?"
Eden:"hahaha, Lavias is now known for the avians that fly all around, but before the avians it was the home of the gnomes. Long ago in the dark era, the gnomes had to find ways to protect themselves. The best solution the gnomes of Lavias came up with was an artifact to lift Lavias up into the sky to avoid a land invasion."
Von:"You already told me that when we first met but what is an artifact and how do you make one. I asked all around Lavias and the gnomes at wizard tower just ignored me when i asked."
Eden:"Us gnomes are a prideful bunch and tend to keep our secrets to ourselves, but since I really don't care as much I will tell you this at least and that is no gnome would teach anyone that is not a gnome the art of making artifacts."
Von: "What if you already have artifact mastery can you get someone to help you learn then?"
Eden looked at Von as if somewhat bothered by his answer and then asked "How would that someone learn artifact mastery?"
"I Learned it from the book that you gave me?" answered Von very quickly as if stating that Eden had thought it to him by letting him read that book.
A concerned face could be seen on Eden's face when he heard those words uttered out of Von's mouth. The reason was that because though the gnomes were very prideful, and did not want to teach much to others, even their own kind if they could. There were many flaws/disadvantages for a race in not passing down your knowledge to others, and so to prevent the loss of their craft the gnomes had a few golden laws that were as strong as a blood oath. One of the most important rules of the gnomes was that if you taught someone the craft of making artifacts then that person became your student, and you had to pass all the knowledge that you could to your student. Their pride was a great factor in making that the golden rule because the gnomes did not want to hear anything that would tarnish the name of their craft especially from the snobby dwarfs with their special blacksmithing.
"Are you sure you learned artifacting from the book that I gave you?" asked Eden with a somewhat certain doomed face since normally a person cannot just learn artifacting from reading one book from the restricted section of the library.
"Well its more like I obtained a class from the book that gave me the skill but I have no idea how to use it." and then he said
"I can even show you my class if you want?" said not noticing Eden surprised face whatsoever.
"Show Stats to Eden."
Looking at Von's states Eden noticed his class was the Artifactor of Life. Eden thought how Von just happened to be lucky enough to obtain a class most gnomes could dream of having. The Class had some hidden requirements that even Eden could not figure out but now guessed it had to deal with wanting to know about Abydos the first grand piece made by Bert that lifted Lavias to the skies.

Thinking what to do Eden decided to to tell Von to meet him tomorrow morning outside of wizards tower so discuss everything about artifacting then. Von decided to buy the basic 4 elemental mastery's which combined and formed a single skill elemental mastery and 4 spells know as fireball, water whip, clay hand, and wind walk for a total of 4 gold before leaving the mage guild.
Von decided to check all his skills before he left to fight against the rabbits "Show skills"

Looking at all his skills carefully and seeing what he might be able to do with them Von decided to go into the fields full of rabbits to test his skills. The first thing he saw near the fields were a bunch of the low level players just like himself who had just had their 1st month ban lifted and were having a hard time just trying to hit the rabbits.
Deciding that just watching them was not going to help very much; he started to cast clay hand on a rabbit that was a few meters away from him. Since it was his first time casting clay hand his aim was way off by a couple of feet and did not even hit anything but air. After 30 minutes of using clay hand he finally understood that you had to concentrate on the target rather than aim using clay hand and decided to practice all his spells before trying to attack the rabbits. When he finally got the hang of his new spells he concentrated on a clay hand at the rabbit to grab it and quickly used fireball a bunch of times to kill the rabbit stuck to the clay hand. When the rabbit died a white orb could be seen by Von and it went inside his body. Von collected the rabbit meat and the 2 copper and checked soul list and noticed he rabbit soul and a number 0.06 by it and since current he could do nothing with it he just decided to ignore it. After hunting for a couple of hours he went and hunted foxes. The foxes were harder since they had speed and would bit before could do anything to them. The way Von hunted foxes was by using water whip and keeping the foxes as far away as possible while attacking them. At first he had a hard time but after understanding the foxes pattern and using the water whip to counter attack the foxes died as soon as the rushed to bite him. The chance of hunting wolves after foxes was impossible because wolves hunted in packs and even with all of Von's spells the best he could fight was 1 vs 1. Von decided to logout of royal road when he reached level 7 and eat till it was morning in royal road.
When Von logged back in he headed towards wizard tower and saw Eden waiting for him standing near a corner looking at his old antique looking wrist watch. Von walked upto Eden and right away Eden grabbed his hand and pulled him into the tower. It seemed that when Eden said morning it literally meant sunrise and Von had been late in meeting by a couple of hours. Eden wasn't mad because most of the adventurer that he had seen lacked the understanding of time as they were never on time.
When they entered the wizard tower and went upto the second floor Edent started to chant something on the door of room 261 before they entered.
You are the very first player to discover Eden's Workshop
Reward: Fame +100.
Every day for one week double EXP .
When entering the workshop Von saw something that he never imagined he see in the medieval like game know as royal road. There were small model planes similar to the wright brother hanging on the ceiling. The inside of the workshop had many contraptions that Von had tears of joy coming out of his eyes from the sight inside the workshop. When he looked back he noticed that the door he entered the workshop through was now mad of steel instead of dry old wood.
Eden: "Before we get started with the questions by law I am required to asked you if you want to become my apprentice?"
Von: "What happens if I become your apprentice?"
Eden: "When you make artifacts as my apprentice you get 20% more experience in artifact mastery and you would be officially accepted by the gnomes as part of the family. Just so you know we gnomes might not like to teach but we still treat our family like the dwarf treat rare metals and beer."
"Yes" answered Von still having a little bit of anger at gnomes for ignoring him before, but was willing to forgive at forget as long as he got to experiment and make any invention that popped up in that ingenious mind of his.
You have become Eden's apprentice
All gnomes will treat you as if part of the family.
20% increase in Artifacting experience while working in Eden's workshop.
Eden: "What questions do you want answered before we start your training?"
Von: "Training?"
Eden: "Well guess that is considered a question i guess. Since you have became my apprentice I cannot let you leave my workshop till you are considered good enough. A gnomes craft is his pride and his pride is his reputation and no gnome and i mean no gnomes wants a smudge on their reputation. The reason I asked you to become my apprentice is because it was my fault that you learned artifacting. The training is me hammering the basics of artifacting into your tiny little mind child."
Von still a little confused at first and then asked Eden about the door and Eden told him that the workshop itself is an artifact that most gnome create when they get to the intermediate stage of artifacting. Since having access to a workshop anywhere has many advantage it is required most most true artifactors to build one in their life time. Eden also told Von about the artifact that holds Levias floating and why he should not ask too much about it since the gnomes do not want their secrets to be told to other. The most important reason Eden gave Von was that some people might want to invade Levias and would pay anything to destroy the artifact holding it in place.
Understanding Eden's point of view Von decided to give up trying to find more information about it for now and started his training with Eden.
Eden went up to the closest of the 7 wooden red wood desks and told Von that their are 8 different ways of making artifacts. The first one is mechanical like the watch on my wrist. The second is pure magical that is made from blueprints and materialized using a tremendous amount of magic. The third method require that you use crystals some rare some very common. The fourth method is life in which you give the artifact you create life and it moves, thinks, levels up and learns just like anyone else. The fifth is dimensional in which the artifact is connected to a certain dimension for example this workshop. The last 3 methods were considered hidden and only revealed when they passed beginning, basic, and advanced training for the artifactor. Each method was revealed as one passed each training, Eden was not going to help with any of the training since the beginning training for an artifactor was not available in Levias. Eden was going to teach the basic of the other 5 method before sending Von off to increase his skills on his own.
