The Art of Aquarius- A Mackey/Newsome Thriller
Art of Aquarius- Foreword: Why?

Art of Aquarius- Foreword: Why?

This is a thriller. A thriller with cops, killers, victims, heinous crimes, and some adult content.

First things first, why sexual content?

A) I censor myself when pertinent or when I feel like sexual content will absolutely keep people from reading a story. In the case of some stories I've written, they were an ode to someone I cared about, or some material was borrowed from others (my fanfics). I make all efforts to respect what these parties might want.

Just because I'm asexual, and can't experience such things, doesn't mean everyone is that way; or that these scenes don't play out when I am creating a story (I usually begrudgingly remove them after typing because the flow will be disturbed if I don't flesh it all out). One of my characters, who appears in another fiction, is absolutely a woman's man. He loves ladies and everything about them. In my other fiction, I hinted at this idea. This story, I may let it ride and put it all on the page. This man's life is shaped by the thoughts and experiences he's had. His form of escapism is time with the ladies. Or lady.

Almost every mainstream novel I've read, where the MC shares my fictional character's occupation, there is always a rite of passage. An Alpha moment, if you want to call it that. A moment where the author establishes the MC as 'the man.' Usually, that means a steamy love scene (or two).

I used to get mad. But as I've gotten older, I am more inclined to be indifferent. I've skipped over love scenes before. Mostly if they made no sense. But I've also read more respectful stuff. And some accounts of (TW) rape or SA. Those make me most uncomfortable. But I've also written more than one. Drawing on experiences of those I know or things I've experienced. It's about levels and sensitivity.

I don't know if I'm explaining this right so I'll just say this:

This story is an adult story. It has adult themes. Problem is, I don't know if I should.

Making love comes naturally to some people. To some, like myself, not so much. Love can be a beautiful thing. Any depictions of love, lust, and passion I depict...I try to come at it from a consensual and acceptable angle. I don't sample stuff online, calling it research (personal preference).

This tale has been unlawfully lifted without the author's consent. Report any appearances on Amazon.

I reference the scant images/scenes I've glimpsed in media, the off color jokes I've heard throughout my career with the public, and what I learned in school/books about human anatomy.

There are those who would pervert/subvert the true meaning of love or making love. The villain in my story is one such individual. There will be no detailed scenes of rape or SA. This is so that the contrast between love, lovers, lusters, and making love will be separated from the mind of a sick sexual deviant. The subverter gets no glory in my pages.

2) Victims.

So often, irl, we see villains immortalized. We know their names, we can identify them simply from glimpsing a photo, we remember their specific crimes, we know how they were later punished for those crimes. If they were punished at all.

Examples: McVeigh, Bundy, Gacy, BTK, The Uni, Dahmer, Simpson, and others.

How many victims' faces do we know the names of offhand? These were mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, aunts, uncles, and friends to some. These were people.

I see images to my stories like they are real. My characters are very real, in the sense that my story wouldn't make sense without them. When they are taken away by villainy, they leave a hole. Just like the victims of Bundy or Gacy left holes when they were taken. As such, I have chosen a way to immortalize them along the way. To make them more real. They may only exist on the page, but they are human too. You will know it when you see it.

C) Why do the astrology signs looks all...Wrong? Because they are. Not only because AI just can't handle such requests, but because I do not wish to disrespect anyone's beliefs, signs, or systems. This is a story about a vile killer who corrupts everything they touch. This is how they view the constellations. Through their own psychotic lense. In my story, anyway.

Call me superstitious, but even though I've been wanting to write a story like this (The cops in question. Not necessarily the storyline I now present to you) since about 2007, we just passed out of the sign of aquarius on Feb 18. I held off until we were clear to ward off any yuck. Not trying to manifest madness or jinx the universe. If you believe in that sort of thing. Ironic because loss from 2024 and a sucky start to the new year is why I said: "no more procrastinating. Time is too short."

So wonky star signs are a go. Bad vibes are a no. Let's go.

Thanks if you read this.
