Thank you for making it to the end of Volume 0 of The Archon’s Mark!
I would like to start this by appreciating what a journey it has been with my first foray into publishing on Royal Road. I feel like I have learned so much about strategies, writing techniques, and reader’s expectations.
First and foremost, a huge thank you to my lovely and beautiful partner. She was my Editor, beta reader, proofreader, cover designer, and also personal therapist all in one. She not only gave me advice constantly and sat through reading (every) single chapter on short notice. But also uplifted me, and helped me handle criticism constructively, and always suggested ways for me to improve my chapters. This has been a passion project for me, and having this kind of support enabled me to push through the hardest of times, I am genuinely appreciative, and this work would not have turned out the way it did if it wasn’t for her.
Secondly, A huge thank you to the 29 followers of this novel at the time of writing this. I feel deeply honoured that you have clicked that button, for whatever reason. Ever since the first person to follow my novel, to the next, seeing that number increase has been an incredibly validating experience as a newbie author and one I will remember strongly. Furthermore, a massive thank you to all my fellow Authors, who invested time and energy in leaving ratings, reviews, and giving me shoutouts. The Royal Road community, in my experience, is a tough crowd. But the level of support is also overwhelming, and I am so appreciative for the opportunity to receive feedback, experience the many impressive works on this site and also have the opportunity to do the same for others.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
A big thank you to all my fellow authors, who gave review swaps, shoutout swaps, and plenty of helpful advice. The community here on royal road is great, albeit a tough crowd, and I am very happy to have had a chance to interact with fellow like minded others.
Strangely, I would also like to thank my characters. Especially Victor. I found his words to be something that motivated me, and during some of the roughest criticisms I received, I felt like his voice uplifted me out of my emotions and pushed me to keep going. Every character has compassionately nudged me to keep writing. I have a love for this world I created, but my love for the people within is much greater. There are so many untold stories calling to me, and they serve as motivation for me to keep writing. I want to see this world, and its people breathe. So thank you, my name, written, and yet to be written characters, you have and continue to keep me going. It is for you that I write this novel, after all.
Next, and maybe most importantly. Thank you, the one who is reading this. Every author dreams of the day that somebody can read their book. For you to have made it this far, you finished this work of mine to the end. My artistry lies in words, but language alone cannot describe how meaningful that is to me. I simply and humbly say thank you, for giving this work of mine a try. I hope somewhere in here, you were able to find something you enjoyed. If you did take the time to leave a review, feedback, or any nice words. Just know I have and continue to read each of them, and every single nice word and compliment I have received is immortalised in my mind forever.
Lastly, a thank you to myself. For building this world, and dedicating myself to this artform. It has been a gruelling and rewarding experience, and I am appreciative of the days of hard work I’ve put in despite not having the best health and while also working a full time job. If I could go back in time, I would tell myself. For the first time ever, in 2024 you completed something. And that is an achievement.
