It was now a cake walk to blast through the rest of the dungeon but in the next 2 levels he didn’t level up once. The sheer quantity of XP he needed was monstrous and the hero level was a whole different breed of beast than before. Any hero was capable of slaughtering an army no matter what their profession and mages were especially proficient in this regard. As soon as he exited the dungeon he heard the tone of a system message and a world announcement was made.
*Congratulations humans the first demigod has emerged amongst you. A new age has dawned and your race has taken the first step on the road to becoming a warrior species. As a reward for seting the record for the fastest race to reach this point after the system initialization you have been granted the racial title ‘Super Race’. Good luck and continue to grow strong humans.
Every player on the planet was shocked and frozen in place. Suddenly it seemed like every last player was opening their stat screens at the same time and reading the skill description and Jason was no different but his description was different from others.
*Title- Super Race Progenitor: Members of a super race are exceedingly gifted in all manner of survival and combat disciplines. As the basics of basics for racial survival their bodies are naturally gifted with a supernatural rate of reproduction and can adapt to nearly any naturally occurring environment. As the first and strongest amongst a race of supers as well as the one who brought its change you will receive one gift from the system of equal value and maximum level of martial talent.
As soon as he finished reading it a hole ripped open in space right in front of him. An endless starscape greeted his eyes but the egg that floated in space grabbed his attention. It was so black it seemed to absorb the light around it with no blemishes or light spots on it at all. It quietly floated towards him was sucked into his chest. In an instant he heard the panicking from belial’s group and entered the grimoire. A ridiculous sight greeted his eyes. One of the mountains he had stolen and put in there had been half destroyed.
It honestly looked like some enormous monster had taken a big bite out of it. In the center of the crater was the egg. And around the egg was scattered all the meteors he had dug up when he beat the beast horde. Even as he watched more and more stones were drawn to the egg and piled up around it like a nest. When the last one clicked into place all mana in the grimoire started to crazily rush into the egg. Soon the density in the entire zone started to fall and he was forced to activate the transcendental meditation to its fullest and only then could he barely equal out what the egg was taking.
He could only stare in shock as the egg seemed to lighten up on the absorption until it was perfectly equal with what he was producing. Suddenly he heard a ding and another message popped up.
*unknown entity ???egg is requesting to trade for full ownership of the skill Transcendental Meditation (20) with soul pact. Do you wish to trade? Y/N
He couldn’t fucking believe it. This was his ‘reward’? A potential partner that required him to give it his single most powerful skill? WTF kind of sick joke was this? He almost shoved no until one word stuck out to him, soul pact! Almost nothing was known about soul pacts because only three people in his previous life had ever gotten one. They were considered one of the top ten strongest in the world because they had gained the ability to give half of their levels to their pet and it could level up with them as well as evolve into stronger species when certain conditions were met. They could even benefit from each other’s skills and natural abilities.
It was now a choice of how much he trusted the system. It had said a reward of equal value and the system never lied or bent the truth. Did he want to trust his fate to something he had no idea what it even was on the chance it would one day be a powerhouse he could trust with his life? As he almost pressed yes the message disappeared and a new one appeared in its place.
*unknown entity ???egg is requesting to trade for full ownership of the skills Transcendental Meditation (20) and multicast with soul pact. Do you wish to trade? Y/N
He was fucking livid now. Not only did it want his strongest but even his second strongest but it wasn’t done yet, it changed yet again.
*unknown entity ???egg is requesting to trade for full ownership of the skill Transcendental Meditation (20) and multicast as well as permission to use cosmic rebirth at will and 100 of your split minds with soul pact. Do you wish to trade? Y/N
He could only stare at this point with frozen fury at the egg. It was asking to pretty much send him back to square 1. For a solid half an hour he forced himself to put aside all his emotions and look at it all logically and examine every facet of probability with all 101 minds he possessed. Finally he selected yes and felt 100 of his minds suddenly become sealed away. But what made his face pale completely was that he could still tell they were all simultaneously casting his meditation. He couldn’t even believe it. It was jointly using his 100minds to simultaneously cast multicast 100 times each with each mind and using it all for meditation.
This completely broke how he thought the skill were supposed to work and now he realized he didn’t even understand his skills to begin with. He felt like burning alive since an egg could use his spells better than him. The embarrassment made him want to find a hole and never leave it. Finally he turned pale white as he realized that the egg was absorbing over 8 BILLION mana every second and it hadn’t even had a reaction yet. He couldn’t even fathom what creature could ever require so much mana just to hatch. It all came crashing down that even after all he had seen and done he was no more than a tiny frog in a even smaller well.
His plan was now totally scrapped and all this time the people around him were in pandemonium over becoming a super race. When he brought himself out of the grimoire he could see everyone losing their shit and frankly it was hilarious. And then he caught site of an incredibly fat man a couple feet from him on his right side writhing on the ground. The shield and mace as well as his armor pegged him as a tank of some sort but the thing was he was convulsing of the floor as steam rolled off him in waves. It was so thick it completely obscured his body. The same was happening to fairly fat women on his left that looked like she was leaning on the wall but to a lesser degree and he could see that the fat was literally evaporating off her.
What was left was a toned and muscular women that looked like a cross between a bodybuilder and a model in all the right ways. Her skin was rippling with stringy muscle and utterly free of any blemishes, even her face looked like something from a playboy mansion magazine. Unfortunately their clothes didn’t change with them and a lot of it simply started falling off. The same was now happening to everyone else to greater or lesser degree and people were now noticing en mass. At this point he could guess that the same was happening around the city. It was definitely the effect of the super race title and he figured that his family would have the full story in a day or two so he just walked over to the shop.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
Many people stared at the strange guy who wasn’t freaking out and just calmly walking down the street like any other day but at this point they all could guess that he was the likely cause. He simply ignored them and went shopping. As soon as he walked in he noticed how vacant the shop was since they had probably booted everyone out when the change happened. He walked calmly to the desk and this time he started looking through weapon skills. With his magic almost neutered he was going to have to use every last one of his stats to stay alive in a demigod dungeon and learn fast how to be a master jack of all trades. His advantage was mostly in his ridiculous mana pool size so he was going to need to capitalize with that along with his fairly even stats.
Overall each of his stats were the same as if a demigod had dumped all their points into a single stat and he was planning to make the best of it. As he looked through more and more he figured his best bet would be to go with a spellblade kind of setup since they had a large amount of skills that did huge amounts of damage depending on how much mana was used in it. He decided to at least look at the options in his celestial tree though so he flipped it open. At the worst he could simply close it and look at other skills. However he couldn’t help but freeze when he saw the list and was thrown into total confusion.
*Cosmos Body Shaping Art- Depending on the number of non level rewarded stat points invested this art will evolve and grow with the user, the number of points will be sacrificed at a rate of 50,000 per phase and 5,000 each tier. More may be sacrificed later with no limit. Warning this skill cannot be unlearned and sacrificed stats cannot be refunded. Cost 1B Gold and 100 SP to learn. Tier ?
*Divine Weapon’s Form- This spell allows you to enhance your current weapon to negate armor and deal wounds that are extremely difficult to heal. Cost 1B Gold and 50 SP to learn. Tier 24
*Angelic Incarnation- This spell allows you to transform into a Battle angel form and call upon their might for a time. Cost 10B Gold and 50 SP to learn. Tier 31
How was this possible? He thought before that the spells were each Ideal for him at the moment but these were all custom tailored to his situation. Just what the hell is going on? These were all beyond his comprehension and understanding. With a sigh he shelved yet another thing that doesn’t make sense for a later time when he had more information. He picked the Body shaping art and could only watch as the rest melted away only for three more to take their place.
*Divinties Halo- Sacrifice your mana pool to enhance the physical body of yourself and those around you at a rate of 100% to all stats per 1M Mana invested. Halo’s range increases by 100 feet per 1M Mana invested Cost 10M Gold and 50 SP to learn. Tier ?
*Heavens Might- Concentrate your mana into massive blow at a rate of x10 damage per 1M Mana invested. Cost 100B G and 50 SP to learn. Tier 56
* Godspeed- Concentrate you mana into an armor that boosts your attack and movement speed by x10 per 1M Mana invested.Cost 10B Gold and 50 SP to learn. Tier 56
As he picked Godspeed he saw that he was now back down to four digits in his gold and could only sigh. He learned both spells and took notice that he only had 32 SP left. He quickly tabbed over to the generic weapon proficiency skills. Since he now had Godspeed he went to the weapons with a naturally high attack speed. When it reaches a certain point speed translates into power as well. Top of his list after he read them was the scythe, battle gauntlets, dual swords and leg blades, they were each only 1 SP apiece so he got them all. Next he picked up all four armor type proficiencies which were heavy, medium, light, and shields.
He now had 24 SP left and a few hundred gold, so he exited out and left the front desk. On his way out he saw the quest board was now open and he saw a demigod level quest that was glowing neon red. He had never heard of demigod level quests before so he stopped to take a look. He almost laughed outright when he saw the quest details and the reward but nearly choked when he saw the penalty for failure.
Forbidden knowledge part 1 - Rank Demigod
The time draws near for the second phase of the system’s merging and it is the time for champions and heroes to emerge. Clear every Demigod and below rank dungeon before the beginning of the second phase.
Reward of acceptance and completion- knowledge of the locations of every dungeon in your tier, choice of reward pending acceptance of the quest giver.
Penalty of failure or refusal- Global dungeon break occurs 1 year prior to second phase initiation.
God dammit. What the fuck is this? He had never heard of anything remotely similar in his past life, probably because he was just too weak to participate and spent all his time making up for his mistakes. He could only stare at it and helplessly accept. There was no pain and all he had to do was think about the demigod dungeons and they appeared as latitude and longitude coordinates in his head. He went back to the house and into his room, when he was there he pondered and pondered as he thought over the body sculpting art and how much he should sacrifice.
The only problem was that his gut was on total rebellion if he tried to do anything but go all in down to the minimum of ten in each stat. He knew next to nothing about the difference between phases because they had never got to the second phase in his former life. He could only theorize that there was a massive difference. The only solid information he had was from the one and only tier nine person there ever was in his previous life. He had broadcasted to the world a cryptic message that phases couldn’t even be compared with each other and that phase 1 and 2 were simply on different levels of power.
He could only give a helpless sigh and call up his character sheet.

He added up 292,267 stat points he could sacrifice in total and he had no idea what the cooldown time would be so it was essentially all or nothing at this point so he decided to wait until he had an even 300K or at least close before he would activate the skill. He didn’t want to chance it that he would be weak temporarily and then have to fight his was through a hero dungeon in anything less than his best. He quickly ducked back out of his room and headed to the airport to hijack the families private jet. The closest hero dungeon was in south manitou island in lake michigan. He had never been skydiving before so he thought it would be fun.
No sooner did he hit the ground then he felt his two clones come out of the dungeon and send him a flood of XP but it still only leveled him up 1 time and that was only barely. Now that he had a little money he had one of them go and buy as many basic weapon mastery skill books as he could and every blacksmithing item he would need to start crafting as well as information books on all the different known types of ore all the way from phase 1 tier 1 which were mostly normal metals all the way to phase 9 tier 9. Since they were just plain information books they didn’t cost very much at all until you start buying phase ten books then they each start getting sold for hundreds of trillions of gold or items of equal value.
He then sent it on a variety of minor tasks while the other one kept farming for gold or items to sell. After taking care of that he checked on the one he had teaching Nina and found that she was already fighting in a tier 2 dungeon. He sighed in relief at her progress. The clone had been casting cosmic rebirth every chance it got so she should be catching up to his level fairly soon he hoped. The dungeon entrance was in the middle of the island so not many had probably found even in his last life since the island itself was so remote and there wasn’t really anything here that he could see except the dungeon itself. He took a deep breath and touched the dungeon door that was engraved like an enormous bull elephants face.
