Jack, Rya, and Ellen sit at a conference table in the real world. “Ellen, we were just having fun. We didn’t mean to go so far.”
“Yeah, right. I had to create a new skill tree to remove the locked gender dependent equipment and curses. What were you thinking?”
Jack responds, “Two idiots in life needed to be toyed with.” Rya winced. It was exactly the wrong thing to say.
Ellen states, “Well, two idiots in programming have been restricted on their access for the next few weeks and made in game slaves of their ‘toy’. Now, give me a real reason for toying with him!”
Rya spoke up, “You. You are a domineering boss and we’ve had almost no time to ourselves working nearly eighty hours a week to get the game ready for beta because you’ve been mooning over a boy you saw on the bus. I know you’re only eighteen, but still, be professional here!”
Ellen’s face reddens quickly. “Regardless, all you had to do was log off when you hit forty hours. You two advanced the schedule by more than a year because you thought I wasn’t doing anything but wishing for a guy? Admittedly, he’s just my type!”
Rya starts feeling sick. “But you didn’t have to curse our characters with twins! Do you know how annoying it is now to play with a pregnant character? And something strange is going on with our VR equipment now! It’s consuming nutrients too fast!”
Ellen shakes her head. “What does your VR equipment have to do with anything? It’s only your character that’s cursed, and we don’t own that equipment.”

Jack mumbles “But we sent you and him the same equipment and if something’s wrong with ours…”
Ellen answers, “There have been no problems with that pod. Seriously though, why name it a Wife Pod?”
Rya tries to change the topic. “We’ve brought him to the town you adventure in when not playing goddess. I figure you can help him get to the Fairy capital to cure the curse Jack put on him. After all, we never created the curse to change someone’s gender, so the worst that should really have happened was him getting ennobled as a prince or duke and having to learn statecraft or how to be a general. We thought those would be perfect jobs for someone who caught the eye of a goddess.”
“Well fat lot of good that did. His character is now primed for an actor, not a noble. At least a noble’s a title either way.”
Good afternoon. I thought I would push a few more behind the scenes details as Ellen is finally let in on what's really behind the treatment of her love interest. However, we still don't know if Jonathan even likes Ellen or is aware that she is something attainable. PS, I still don't trust Jack and Rya with their nerfed access since they have ties with the pod's production team.
