Within a dark, moisture-laden and musty deep rocky cave lay a small grey egg on the floor next to the mossy wall.

The only sounds in the cave were water dripping from the ceiling on the rocky floor and the cracking of an egg. However one sound only lasted for a few minutes. It was the cracking.

Once the cracking was finished there was very muffled push sound followed by the falling and cracking sounds of the eggs shell. From within the egg out came a larvae.

This larvae was a grey colour with twelve legs, soft and squishy skin that folded in at regular intervals, each one placed by its legs. The larvae shuffled its tiny legs forward and moved out of the egg.

The larvae didn't possess anything more that animalistic intellect capable of basic instincts, reasoning, awareness and problem-solving skills, however it did possess innate thought that told it can advance itself by consuming. 

Therefore it turned back to face the cracked egg on the floor and began to eat it and consume the Biomass and satiate its hunger. After a few minutes it finished eating the egg and moved to search for more to consume. 

The larvae proceeded to move around the cave entrance, moving through a small tunnel and rounding a corner. Suddenly it halted. In front of it was a number of chrysalises with small winged insect in them. It proceded forward and began to eat one of them. After a few minutes it had eaten the chrysalis and bug whole. The larvae proceeded to eat a few more of them on instinct, finding them very suitable and filling.

Feeling full the larvae retreated back into the caves depths on instinct and fell into a deep sleep. A chrysalis formed around it.

When the larve awoke from its slumber an unknown amount of time had passed however it felt itself covered in a sticky substance. It moved to break free. The larvae discovered it now had changed and was no longer a larvae.

It now had six legs, a head with better eyes that could see more than a few meters unlike before and a couple of antennae, a slightly longer body with small amount of fur on it but still soft and squishy, a venomous stinger at the back of its body, a pair of wings on its back and most important was it now had a way to utilize Biomass in a way other eating and growing, it could now create larvae that are like it was before. It now also had a gender, female.

She had a substantial advancement however she did not try to do anything more than hunt for more Biomass to feed on. 

The larvae now bee-like creature moved back to where it found the bee's before as it knew there was food there. She would need to eat more to grow and she was feeling very hungry.  

She turned the corner at the end of the tunnel that was between her area and the bee's arae in the big cavern by the entrance. She now had more intelligence due to gaining a larger brain so she stopped at the exit to the tunnel and used her antennae to send out an electromagnetic field to sense the bee's own electromagnetic signals. 

She felt a strange fuzzy feel in her head and felt a number of very weak signals. She turned to look at them, they where more of the chrysalis's she found earlier.

Proceeding forward towards them she knew she didn't need to use her venom stinger to sedate them, they would just sleep through being eaten as they were hibernating, growing in them. She could not hear before when she was larvae but now she could hear the sounds water dripping, well more like 'feel' the sound with her whole body, so she knew it was safe due to there being no other sounds around. 

She proceeded to eat the a number of the bee chrysalises again.

After eating four of them she 'felt' loud buzzing sounds and erratic electromagnetic signals coming from behind her.

Spurred by an instinct of danger she ran back into her tunnel and luckily got away before the bee's reached her, as they could not fly into the small hole as it was just too small for their wings. 

She turned and faced the bee's outside from just inside the tunnel.

One bee landed, folded its wings in and tried to walk into the cave. She lifted her front left leg and hit the bee back a bit as it came forward again she hit it again this time with her stinger by jumping ever so slightly and thrusting it forward form behind her, a tough feat in the cramped tunnel. She then bit down on it and ripped it's head off, blood spraying everywhere and gulping the head down she headed back to her small area of the cave the bee corpse blocking the entrance.

She then laid down two eggs at the back of her small area in the cave upon return. That was all she could do currently with her Biomass. 

She then felt hungry so she dragged the bee at the entrance into the back with her eggs and ate it contently looking at her eggs. The bee's had retreated.

With her new intellect came emotion. Her first feeling was satisfaction, she also felt like she wanted to birth more.
