Looking through the house, I see no sign of Shia anywhere.

I just woke up recently. Looking outside it should be late in the morning, so Shia probably went to work already.

Today I planned to infiltrate the big mansion in the center of the city. Why? Because it looks fun and I, don’t want to go out on quests for a while after fighting the rabbits yesterday.

Jumping through a window, I head outside towards the big mansion in the middle of the city.

I really need to ask Shia for a key. Huh〜

Walking down the streets, I notice the first thing that will ruin my infiltration. Guards!

Looking towards the big mansion in the distance, I can see guard everywhere. At the gate. The wall. The trees. The bushes. They are everywhere!

After a while, I am finally up close to the mansions wall.

I look towards the guards at the gate. The guards at the wall. Yes nobody on the wall right now.

Using my very awesome skills, I jump on top of the wall and stealthily enter the mansion without being seen… Not.

Trying to jump over the 3-meter wall, I bump my head into the wall and ends up falling back down on the ground.

Everyone around me is staring weirdly at me, even the guard gave me a glance before turning away.

M-mission success… My plan was to see if I could divert the guards’ attention.

Convincing myself that my plan was to find out if I could divert the guards, I move on with my next genius plan.

Searching for something to distract the guards, I move past the mansion. After searching hard for two whole hours, I find it. The perfect distraction.

Laughing to myself, I move back towards the mansion to try my plan.

The guards are still standing in front of the gate and the guards on the wall are not there too. The perfect time to execute my plan.

Walking towards the guards, I take out a cat.

I throw the cat at one of the guards and run into the mansion.

Fufu… You didn’t expect that now? Did you? This is repayment for that time damn cats.

Entering inside the mansion a luxurious garden spreads out before me. Flowers are everywhere and a small artificial lake in the middle of the garden. In front of the lake a mansion is standing in all its glory and in front of the mansion a middle aged man is sitting enjoying the calm summer breeze.

Not having time to think about the beautiful view, I jump into a nearby bush and hide.

Soon after two guards, enter. They are the two guards that was standing in front of the gate just a moment ago.

They look around, searching for me. After not finding me, they walk towards the middle aged man in front of the mansion.

After talking for a bit, the middle aged man seems to be smiling for some reason. The guards left soon after.

Waiting around for a few minutes, I notice that the middle aged man leaves to go inside the mansion.

Sneaking through the garden, I come to the spot that the middle aged man was a moment ago.

A nice looking chair is there.

Why not relax for a moment? After all, I’m already inside. No need to hurry.

Coming up with a reason that is justifiable, I move towards the nice looking chair.

Beside the chair, there is a table with snacks and juice on it. Helping myself, I eat the snacks and drink the juice.

Feeling refreshed I sit back down on the chair making myself feel comfortable. Not knowing how or why, I fall asleep.

Waking up, I am still in the comfortable chair. Looking up at the sun it seems that I’ve slept for a few hours.

I think I slept for a few hours…

Not knowing how to tell time by the sun, I move on towards the big mansion to explore it.

For some reason the door was open, so I just enter inside as it is.

Inside the mansion, I feel like luxurious is not enough to explain the mansion anymore. Beautiful paintings of different landscapes are on the side of the wall, some of icy planes other flying islands. There is even some paintings of big monsters. A carpet covers the entire floor making it nice to move on. In the ceiling, a strange beautiful orb is floating around lighting up the entire entrance of the mansion.

Walking through the entrance, I spot several doors around the place.

Feeling my inner explorer awaken I grab the doorknob of the closest door.

‘Violently’ opening the door, I enter the room.

B-books… T-they are back!

The door I opened was the door to the city lord’s private library… Slamming the door, I move towards a door close by.

Opening the door, I great the face of a surprised old butler. Slamming the door in his face, I hastily enter another door close by.

Listing close to the door, I can hear the butlers scream. Searching around for me he does not seem to find me, so he moves on.

Breathing out a sigh of relief, I look around the room I entered.

A giant hall spreads out before me. The hall was decorated with all sorts of patterns that was gathering the floating lights around the area. In the middle of the room, a little tree was growing. The special thing about the tree was not that, but that it was created almost entirely from floating lights. The floating lights was gathering at the tree guided by the patterns on the wall.

Looking at the breath-taking scene, I could not help but let out a sound admiration.

“It’s beautiful. Isn’t it?” (???)

A mysterious voice sounded out behind me. Slightly shocked I turn around to look at where the voice came from.

Standing in the entrance of the room a middle-aged man look at me with a slight smile on the face.

Not knowing what to do I just nod in response.

“Haha” (???)

“W-what?” (Me)

Sending an angry glare towards the middle-aged man, I slowly move away.

“No, I just wanted to know what you are doing in my home” (???)

Freezing at the spot, I slowly turn my face away.

“I-I… W-was just exploring the mansion… Y-yes, I just saw the large pretty mansion and decided to explore it” (Me)

Well… It is the truth… kind of...

“Well why not just ask if you could look around? By the way, I heard someone threw a cat at one of my guards outside and ran into the mansion. Do you know who it might be?” (???)

“N-no” (Me)

Feeling guilty for breaking into someone home, I look down on the ground to avert the middle-aged man’s eyes.

“Well… For now, let us start with an introduction. My name is Charles the lord of this city” (Charles)

“L-Lyna” (Me)

Stuttering to get my words out, I manage to get my name out.

Looking up towards Charles again, I can feel my face burning from embarrassment. Still avoiding eye contact, I slowly start to move towards the tree in the middle of the room. Finally getting close to the tree, I move behind it to hide myself. Finally finding a safe haven, I breathe out in relief while leaning towards the tree.

As my body leans towards the tree, I can feel or rather feel nothing as my body goes through the tree and I fall towards the ground.

With slight bumping sound, I hit the ground. Feeling pain in my back, I touch it to soothe the pain.

Getting back up I am back to the place I just escaped from. Panicking, I run into the tree hiding myself again.

“Haha. No need to be afraid. Come out” (Charles)

Using a standard method for luring small cute pets out he tricks the innocent little spirit to come out of her hiding spot. Moving towards the man, the little spirit slowly moves closer. Until she confirms that, the man has no evil intentions, she does not intend to trust him. Using one of the oldest tricks to gain a cute little girls trust, the man takes out a cookie and waves it in front of the girl. Just as expected, the girl rushes forward and snatches the cookie from the man. Not expecting it to be successful, the man gives an awkward laugh.

Looking at the great cookie in front of me, I once again confirm that Charles is a good person.

“Do you want me to show you around for now?” (Charles)

Nodding to my new best friend, we move towards the exit of the room.

Outside the room, a butler is waiting. Seeing his bleeding nose, I remember smashing a door in his face earlier.

Getting slightly embarrassed for slamming a door in his face earlier, I look down on the ground to avert his judging eyes.

“Bates no need to get angry with her, I am sure she didn’t mean to slam a door in your face earlier” (Charles)

“If master says so” (Bates)

“Bates” (Charles)

“Tsch... I know master” (Bates)

Looking towards the butler named Bates he seem to hate me for some reason, maybe the door to his face earlier did the trick?

“S-sorry B-bates, I didn’t mean to hit you with the door earlier” (Me)

Sending the most innocent look I possibly can, I start to stare down the old butler with puppy eyes.

Not being able to take the innocent look of a little girl, the old butler starts to make an apologizing face.

Fufu, I knew it would work.

Giving a sad look to finish the old butler off, I claim my victory.

“Its fine little girl. This only a little scratch, I have been through worse” (Bates)

Giving him one my brightest smiles, I get a gentle smile in return from the old butler.

“Well, now that you two are done” (Charles)

Remembering the person both Bates and me ignored we turn around to see Charles starring at us with a smiling face.

“What about starring to explore the mansion now” (Charles)

Feeling a slight chill down my spine for some reason, Bates and I follow Charles into the next room of the mansion.

Charles does not like to be ignored? I think…

We go from one room to another exploring the wonders of the mansion. A big bath. A wonderful room full of all sorts of armor and weapons. A liba… A giant dinner hall with no books in it.

The entire mansion is much bigger than I expected it to be. Charles said that there is space magic installed in some of the rooms to make them bigger on the inside, but I do not really understand how it works.

Around afternoon, a guard came to find Charles saying someone was outside the mansion.

Going outside, I can see Shia standing there with a splendid smile on her face.

Hiding behind my new friend Charles, I look towards Shia slowly moving over while ignoring the guards.

The guards are sent away by Charles, before getting close enough to stop Shia.

“S-Shia…” (Me)

Managing to get some words out while hiding behind Charles, I look up towards Shia who is slowly closing in.

“Someone you know?” (Charles)

“Y-yes” (Me)

Just as I finish speaking.

“Oh. Lyna… Did not expect to see you here. What a coincidence” (Shia)

“Y-yeah” (Me)

Looking towards Shia’s smiling face I feel restless for some reason.

“Yeah truly what a coincidence, I just heard something about a girl throwing a cat at some guards and breaking into this mansion. Surly you don’t know who it was? Do you?” (Shia)

Feeling sweat starring to appear on my forehead, I can’t help but send Charles a look for help.

“Surly that person did not mean any harm. Nothing bad happened either” (Charles)

Seeing my pleading gaze, Charles tries to stand up for me.

“Oh really?” (Shia)

Shia sends a glance towards Charles who backs down after hearing her.

What… Charles I thought you had my back, why do you retreat now? How can you be scared of Shia? Are you not a Protector rank adventure? Is Shia really that scary?

Sending another pleading gaze towards Charles, he averts my eyes looking the other direction. Looking for Bates, I find out he disappeared at some point.

“Lyna〜” (Shia)

Feeling something grabbing my shoulder, I slowly turn around. What met me was Shias brightly smiling face.

After that Shia ‘taught’ me how to behave in the city, it was a very painful experience…
