thaumcrafting in a cultivation world
The first night is always the same for everyone.

The first night is always the same for everyone.

I woke up who knows how much time later, on my interface there was a status effect that said [shock-5 seconds]. I stood static watching the timer slowly run out, and when it hit 0 it was as if my mind kicked back in, and reality hit me again with everything it had, I had transmigrated to another world, whether I had died or just traveled, this was no longer earth, there was no creature on earth that could make the sounds I remembered hearing, or knock over trees so easily, and lastly on earth there was no magic, or whatever my minecraft interface is.

The truth is I didn't know how to feel, but a smile was starting to paint on my face, I won't go into details, but there wasn't much anchoring me to the other world really, I just lived because it was better than being dead and played video games to pass the time, I had inherited a small fortune that would allow me to live well without doing anything as long as I kept eating instant noodles for the rest of my life and it was a plan I was willing to follow, but now everything had changed.

Now I had a reason to get out of the stagnation, the simple feeling of power I had remembering how I dug 3 meters of earth already made me happy, and with skills like Steve it was certain that I could do much more, and above all it seemed that I had not tired at all when I did it.

The decision was obvious, superhuman strength and seemingly far superior or unlimited endurance, and powers like one of my favorite games, there was no way in the world that would keep me still and stuck in a dark place doing nothing but existing ever again, I could already imagine the huge castle I would build just for myself and a pool and a.... *GROOOOWL*

Right... mysterious forest full of potentially deadly beasts, I almost forgot about it because of how excited I was.

I stood still in silence for a few minutes, just listening, and it seemed like the growl was far away, quite a bit, but from how loud it sounded it must have been a huge beast, I didn't know how to feel about that, on one hand, I was happy it was far away, on the other hand, I knew it would be a problem later on, if I ever wanted to explore the outdoors.

Since the beast was far away and there didn't seem to be anything more dangerous nearby, I started moving, first I made a ladder to go deeper into the dirt, since a meter could be dug by a wolf on earth and here for sure were bigger things, so I needed more depth to feel safer.

The feeling of breaking and collecting cubic meters of dirt with my bare hands almost effortlessly was incredible, I don't think I will ever get bored.

I dug until I hit rock, which wasn't much either, nothing really since a single block below me was already rock, that was a little disappointing, but it didn't matter, if I could break trees like I broke dirt I could make myself a pickaxe in no time, but first I expanded my little piece of heaven.

And now is when I realize that I actually seem to have a bit of night vision, or something like that, as I'm in a completely dark enclosed hole and I can see, albeit barely, what's around me and close enough.

When I had about 20 blocks of dirt, a bit of my cave ceiling fell into the most central part of the hole, which made me realize that this was not a game, it was the real world now, and here we respect the laws of physics, to some extent at least.

I broke up the piece of dirt that fell and placed one back into the hole that was left, it seemed that the blocks that I placed bonded to the adjacent material as if they had always been one, which indirectly increased the stability of the structure, but a little experiment told me that I really couldn't just place floating blocks in the sky like that, I placed 2 blocks on top of each other and broke the bottom one, the top one fell like sand in the game, so now I had something else to worry about, I had to make sure my constructions didn't fall on my head.

With a new problem to worry about I decided to just take the whole roof off my cave and put it back on, so it would stick together and hold tighter, I also made a pillar in the middle to support the roof, and decided not to expand the space any further until I get stronger materials, dirt wasn't good for making houses after all.

With that solved for now, I decided to take a moment to rest, I sat on the floor and I didn't feel tired physically, but mentally, I managed to stay distracted while I worked but now that I took a second I thought again about my whole situation, it was really absurd, but I loved it, and from what I saw in my ui, my hunger hadn't gone down, I didn't know if it was because I didn't run, jump or get hurt or because I just hadn't spent enough time, I also saw that my life bar was at normal hearts, not hardcore hearts, but I wasn't willing to test my respawn capabilities anytime soon.

I took a few more minutes to relax and then jumped up, I couldn't just sit still, there were so many things I wanted to do and try, that calming down and sitting was not one of them.

I broke a block at the edge of my hiding place and looked out, it was about to get dark, but there was still some light left.

I raised my arms and with a leap held onto the edge of the floor above, and with a push I pulled the rest of my body up.

A quick glance told me there were no predators around, but I didn't want to linger to investigate in detail, I felt completely naked if I wasn't packed in enchanted diamond armor, so I ran to the nearest tree, I didn't know what kind of tree it was, nor did I care, I hit it tantalizingly and the tree shook a little, it didn't create cracks in the trunk I was breaking as it would in the game, but it shook the whole tree, though oddly enough I didn't feel anything like pain in my hand, I did feel I touched the tree hard, but there was no pain involved.

A few more taps and the tree had broken down the middle, with the trunk falling to the ground almost on top of me and the rest of the stump still firmly on the ground.

I didn't know how to get the logs from the tree so I just kept hitting it on the ground until it actually broke, and that's when I got the log block of wood.

I did the same for the rest of the log, leaving only the branches and leaves, and then I broke off some more of the remaining stump to take advantage of the wood, when I was done collecting it I was left with 5 logs in inventory, and proceeded to run like the devil chased me back to my hole and lock myself inside.

That whole adventure seems to have taken a long time, but in reality it wasn't even 2 minutes that it took as I was hurrying, I didn't want to draw attention to myself or be out in the open with no way to protect myself or know what was out there.

Back in my safe place I took a moment to reorganize myself and then I started to look at the wood I had obtained, I discovered that if I concentrated I could access the rest of my inventory in my mind, as well as the 2x2 crafting grid, and when I thought about the wood I had, something happened that I did not expect, suddenly ideas started to come to my head, of everything I could do with the logs, like an integrated nei.

That discovery made me very happy, as there were things I didn't remember how to make and it would be very useful, but what surprised me the most was that there were not only normal minecraft recipes in my mind, I had a couple of witchery recipes, one for a bottle and another one an effigy, as well as an infusion on a blood altar from the blood arsenal, which meant I had the blood magic, which meant I not only had access to minecraft vanilla, but it was modded as well.

I didn't know what to think about this, it was a total change of my possibilities, if it had been just minecraft the best I could do was have enchanted diamond armor to protect myself and little else, build a house and maybe some farms, but this changed a lot of things, if I had access to the witchery and blood magic that meant I could become much more powerful, I had a lot more possibilities and magic available, MAGIC!

I wasn't an expert in witchery or blood magic, actually I barely touched witchery, blood magic I was more familiar with, but I wasn't an expert, the one I did know a little more about and the one I focused on the most was thaumcraft, and it didn't take long to find out if I had access to that power as well.

Just by turning logs into planks, which happened in my inventory, so there was no visible effect in the real world, but it did leave me extremely tired.

I felt dizzy and had to sit down for a moment, and as I rested I looked at what I could do with the planks.

The answer is that I had access to evilcraft and thaumcraft, as well as vampirism, which was a little strange to me.

From what I could tell from my recipes, it looked like I had access to the same mods I had when I played on my computer.

While I was waiting for what I will now start calling "crafting exhaustion" to pass, the first thing that crossed my mind was that the vampirism mod was about becoming a vampire, but I needed to be bitten by one first, and I also needed a huge amount of human hearts if I wanted to level up as a vampire, that's counting on there being someone to bite me in the first place, I didn't know if there were vampires in this world, another thing is that witchery, I understood but never got around to it, allowed you to become a vampire as well, and a werewolf, that raised the question, could I be a double vampire? Could I be 2/3 vampire 1/3 werewolf? That would be funny.

Then I started thinking about what I would do, access to the mods changed everything, I could fly, do magic and create very powerful armor, among other things, I never really used the Witchery, I just put it in the pack because it looked interesting but I never got to give it a chance, mostly because I was always focused on thaumcraft, but this world was my new reality now, and I would take advantage of every drop of power I could get, and I would have a lot of fun doing it, I swear to the heavens right now that the first time I ever create a golem I will laugh like a maniac and shout "it's alive!

and that's when I felt it, as I rambled and fantasized, night had fallen, and grunts and screams could be heard everywhere, I could hear zombies and spiders circling over my lair, and in the distance beasts roaring, fighting monsters.

That was strange to me, usually the monsters only attacked the players and ignored everything else, but over my head and all around me on the surface there seemed to be a pitched war.

I stayed up all night, I couldn't sleep, not because I wasn't sleepy, that too, but because the grunts and fighting went on endlessly, until the sun came up, when I started to hear the zombies burning, I wanted to know what was going on upstairs, and that's when I remembered that my mod pack had a map too, and concentrating inside myself I managed to find it in my mind, a kind of radar, that kept a memory of all the places I had been and constantly scanned my surroundings to update it, I could see that above me there were zombies burning, but luckily I didn't detect creepers or spiders.

A few minutes later the zombies were all dead and I went out to look at what had happened, what greeted me was destruction, trees thrown and split everywhere, claw scratches on the trunks and ground, blood and fire everywhere, and a corpse of some kind of blue panther was bleeding on the ground a few meters away from me, it had scratches and bites everywhere, as if it had fought with the zombies, and clearly lost, but by the amount of rotten flesh on the ground it sure put up a good fight.

Looking closer it was obvious that the beast was dead, so I approached it and did the only thing I knew, I started hitting it with my fists, and who knew, it worked, the panther turned into white smoke and left in its place some thin pieces of perfectly cut meat, as well as some leather.

I took advantage of being outside to grab as much wood as I could as fast as I could and got 20 logs, then I ran back to my "house" and closed the hole where I had come out, the outside was dangerous.
