She felt fear, just from its presence alone. The massive true dragon which loomed above her. Veldora, the Storm Dragon.
Under the massive shadow of the blue scaled evil dragon, she was frozen in fear. Unmoving, she stared at it, and it stared back. Its domineering gaze, its vibrant yellow eyes, and its immense aura.
Shortly after, in a booming roar, the dragon before her said, "You have guts little one. Can you speak?"
Stuttering, She tries to say "Y- Yes" but all she manages is a little chirp from her lizard mouth. She couldn't speak any human language with a mouth or body like this... how was she supposed to communicate???
Then the dragon responded, "Good!!! Stop being scared!!! As the first visitor in a very long time, you will stay and talk."
With a fearful mix of little chirps, Eva says, "You... can understand me?"
Once again, the dragon erupted into laughter. So loud it shook the cave. Then he said, "Of course I can! You're just a lizard, and I'm the Storm Dragon Veldora! You dare doubt one such as me?"
Skulking back fearfully, she says, "N- No sir"
Veldora then starts to speak, "Don't be scared, little one. I may be the Storm Dragon Veldora, but I have unfortunately been sealed."
Veldora continues speaking by saying, "It's quite lonely being stuck in a cave all alone for hundreds of years... I need some company, and that will be you."
As Eva slowly crept backwards in fear, she said, "O-ok sir... Storm Dragon..."
The looming form of Veldora seemed to notice Eva creeping off slowly, and he then worriedly yelled, "No!! Don't leave- there's still so much to talk about. Y- You know what? Ask me anything! I'll satiate your curiosity!"
Stopping in her tracks, Eva closed her eyes, praying she wouldn't get smashed under the massive hand of the dragon before her. Desperately, Veldora said, "No! d-don't go!"
She felt kind of confused. After all why would such a powerful being beg for company? It probably hasn't even been here that long... Right? Skeptically, she thought, 'I... I just have to talk... it'll be fine... yeah... he won't hurt me.... right?'
Creeping back towards him, not breaking eye contact the whole time. She was now right up in front of the barrier. Veldora lowered his head so they met eye to eye. Then he said, "Well? What questions do you have?"
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
With her squeaky chirps, Eva said, "What... Is this place? I woke up here suddenly as a lizard... is this still earth?"
Veldora in response, said, "Earth? Hmm... I've heard that before... where... OH! You must be an otherworlder! I've never seen an otherworlder lizard before. Interesting!"
Continuing, Veldora said while nodding, "As an otherworlder you get a few magicules and usually some unique skills. It makes otherworlds very powerful humans indeed!"
Ending off the whole tangent with a short and simple answer. Veldora said, "As for where we are, it's a cave In my great forest of Jura!"
Eva was warming up to Veldora. He didn't seem all that bad, he was very intimidating yes, but to her... he seemed kind of sweet. Like a lonely person sentenced to solitude.
Warming up to him a little bit after seeing his shy side, she looked up at him and asked, "Your forest?"
With a big rumbling laugh, Veldora says, "Indeed! Before I was sealed by that pesky human hero, I ruled over the forest!"
Slightly nervously, Eva said, "So... how exactly were you... sealed?"
Hearing her, he proposes a deal. "I will answer your questions on two conditions. One, you must come back to speak with me. Two, you will be my friend. I believe it's a good deal, is it not?"
Without waiting for an answer, he continues, "You see... I have been sealed for over 300 years and it's very lonely. Therefore, you will become my friend."
Coming from a place of sympathy... not understanding, Eva says, "Yeah... let's be friends."
Veldora happily exclaimed, "Great! Now move a little closer and put a leg or the tip of your face, let's make a promise to be friends forever!"
Scurrying a little tiny bit closer, Eva presses her little lizard nose into the seal. Veldora brings down one of his draconic hands and presses into the seal right where she was.
Veldora then said, "Friends forever"
Calming her nerves, knowing she should be completely safe in this dragon's presence, she says. "Friends forever"
Both of them were blushing a bit in embarrassment. It was something important for both of them, though. For Eva, she had just made a powerful ally. Sealed or not. Veldora on the other hand, he now has company.
Veldora, not going back to the question about how he got sealed yet, says, "Now that we're friends, I'll give you a name.... and... you can give me one too. I think humans call them a... family name? It will engrave unto our souls that we are equals. Truly making us friends forever."
Continuing, Veldora said, "Us sharing a family name will grant you divine protection. Along with that, you will become a named monster! Now, I'll accept a family name for us to share. You must make it cool though!"
Veldora proudly waited for Eva to come up with something. She decided to accept his offer. This divine protection thing sounded great... and she would get a name too? She already had one from her past life... but from what he was saying, she could understand names have greater meaning in this world than just being a form of identification.
Eva finally decided upon a name. He was a storm dragon, what's related to a storm? A tempest. So she proudly said, "Tempest, our surname will be tempest."
Veldora happily laughed, his booming voice echoed as he loudly proclaimed, "I love it! Now I'll give you a cool name too..."
After thinking for a moment. Veldora finally decided upon what to call her. In the coolest way he could imagine, trying to make himself look cool while doing it, he says. "You will be, Andromeda Tempest."
