Here is where I'm supposed to plead for reviews and try to sell other author's work. I work for a living; writing is for fun. Obviously the more buzz my book(s) get, the better. Also, my chapters are long, so, inherently, I will get less views, and less time on the front page of RR for notifications. Anything you can do to get the word out is appreciated.
What's a problem is that I have come to the realization that most authors only have a couple of unique books in them. After they have written these books, they start repeating themes, characters, and situations. Yeah, the details change, but they really don't do much new.
As I have mentioned, this series is now at two books, so writing the next is going to be a challenge. Tenthé is a fairly well developed character; doing something truly new with him is going to be an interesting proposition. I have some ideas I'm working on.
Part of this process involves you! The readers.
Feel free to comment or PM me whether or not you want more. If you don't know how to PM, I give details below.
Now, a little about the decisions that let to the Tenthé series. Primarily, I didn't want to write about a character who should have been killed in the first chapter by the bad guy. Some wizard-boy comes to mind.
I wanted an MC who was capable, but not a stock arrogant super wizard. For better or worse, I wanted to avoid the usual Wuxia and LITRPG progression. Mostly because I am really tired of the never-ending discussions that authors seem to enjoy when describing the character's development path.
Unauthorized content usage: if you discover this narrative on Amazon, report the violation.
I also didn't want to write a poorly disguised romance or period novel.
Unfortunately, this means I hoped to come up with something that was different than most of the popular fiction that is out there. I know I will pay for it, but it seems I have found some kind of audience.
What I think I did, was construct a story without too many meetings and info dumps, with interesting and unique characters, and with with lots going on. Of course, I'm a little biased.
I really want to know what you think. Your opinion has impact!

Now for the bad news. It takes me a really long time to write anything. I'm doing this for fun, so it isn't a job, although it is a chore. My first book had over 15 editing passes, what with re-writes and a never-ending spew of punctuation mistakes. The grief of editing.
The Tenthé books were better, but I think it will still take about 4 passes to hammer things into shape. So, we're looking at nearly 2 months for a first draft, and another 3 or 4 months to go through editing. This is going to take a while. By the way, I once was fired from a job for accurately scheduling a product development timeline. I said 11 months, the management wanted 6, and the end result was 12. They fired me for not being a team player.
Enough rant. I could try writing online, but no. My first drafts are rough!
Let me reiterate, PM me. Give me your opinion. I will listen. You are my audience.
Thanks.
