For the Great Emperor Yun Xi, it was like any other day to him. As one of the few beings who had reached the ''Mortality Transcendence" Realm, the Tenth Realm of Cultivation, he had lived for a very long time and will live for a seemingly infinite amount of time.
Maybe that was why, for him, every day was no different from the other. Even while being the Emperor of one of the three Great Empires of the Saha World—the Serfali Empire, his cultivation was so deep that no one even began to challenge his authority on his own ground.
Maybe someone on the same Cultivation Realm might pose a threat, but even then, he was what everyone considered 'Unparalleled Under The Heavens'.
He was a being worthy to be called The Eternal Authority of Heavens, representing the will of Heavens themselves.
But the man himself did not acknowledge these over-the-top descriptions of himself.
'As long as that man is alive, no one can claim to be the best.'
Such was the thought that ran in his mind as he oversaw all of his empire with his Spiritual Sense, the evolved form of Spiritual Sight that could let him peer into any place like he himself was there.
𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘣!
His left eye involuntarily throbbed with just recalling about that man. He couldn't help but remember the dreadful encounter with that man. It was a disgracing and humiliating memory for him, the Emperor of Serfali.
'It is such a disgrace to be referred to as the Heaven, when I was just abandoned by it long ago.'
But, it couldn't be helped. He was an Emperor, after all.
These over-exaggerated titles were something that were intentionally spread around the world to affirm his rule and authority not only in his empire but on the entire Saha World.
It was a fact that he was powerful, though not unparalleled. His grasp on Daos was immensely deep, but not nearly enough to be proclaimed as the Heaven's Authority.
But, though the titles were fake, there was no more than a handful of cultivators who could even compare to him. And they were certainly not interested in testing these claims.
'So peaceful, as always', he thought.
Although it might be questionable as to what he considered peaceful, as there was no way that he was not aware of the difficulties that persisted in the mundane world, as well as the threat of the monsters and the demonic cultivators.
But to him, these were inconsequential things, not worthy to even be called 'minor problems' at all.
As long as the Empire stood strong, nothing bothered him. He was not the Emperor because he was a Great Sage preaching about peace and prosperity. No, he was the Emperor because he was powerful.
And he did not cultivate this power for others, as like any cultivator. He was arrogant, and he was nonchalant.
As he was busy overseeing the Empire as his pastime, a thought came to his mind suddenly.
'Come to think of it... This day marked the thousandth year after 'that man' vanished from the world in his pursuit for Divinity.'
But as fast as that thought came, it was gone just as quickly, akin to the moving clouds in the sky.
To him, divinity was not something that could be attained so easily. The Heavens would never permit such a thing so easily, and the Innate Gods will do anything to prevent anyone who dared trespass on their territory.
This was a truth anyone would come to know as long as they reached the Tenth Cultivation Realm, as this marked the end of cultivation for mortals and the time when Innate Gods imposed their will to shatter the Spirit of anyone capable of reaching their domain.
In fact, anyone who could cultivate to the Tenth Realm had a fixed chance to achieve Divinity.

And the Great Emperor Yun Xi was not an exception to this. When he reached his current realm, his spirit was blazing with endless potential, filling him with great ambition.
|Enough|!
But with just one word from them, it's flame was snuffed out, eternally cutting his path forward.
"Heavens are endlessly merciful, giving us the path to strength and survival. But they are also infinitely cruel, destroying our potential on that same path."
These words still echoed in his mind, which he yelled in his own despair that day. But it did not make him feel any better; on the contrary, these memories awoke his deep-seated fear for them.
'It's a futile effort no matter how you see it.'
In his opinion, 'that person' was only wasting his time to pursue something out of his league when he could enjoy all the joys of life in his position.
There were countless who would sacrifice even their own parents and children to acquire what he had, but 'that person' was not satisfied with this.
Truthfully, he did not know what was the cause of 'that person' obsessiveness over Divinity.
Was it World Conquest that he desired? Or Endless Power that he covet?
No matter the cause, it had nothing to do with him, and so he threw the thought to the back of his mind, in the endless depths where he would never have to remember those awful events.
Suddenly, without any premonition...
𝘏𝘰𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘨...!
The world shook as if wailing, and the ground quaked like someone pounded hard on it. It was as if...
"The Heavens are themselves trembling!"
It was a premonition so great that even he could not take it lightly. No, even the Innate Gods couldn't shake this off lightly.
'What happened?'
His Spiritual Senses bloomed out in full as he tried to pinpoint the focal point of this great phenomenon. But no matter how far he searched, even enveloping the half of the world, he couldn't even find a single trace of this anomaly.
'If not on the Earth, then...!'
He looked above. And what he found...
"What in the heavens..."
A Great Lightning Tribulation was brewing in the sky, dying the whole of the Heavens in its color and the earth in its mighty presence.
"This... is not a mere Lightning Tribulation, but–"
Divine Tribulation.
But the two words did not leave his mouth—no, he couldn't even believe his own judgment at this absurd situation.
"How? How can anyone possibly achieve this...?"
At that moment, he realized what was going on.
'That Man' has done something. He had fooled even the Innate Gods and somehow attained Divinity. But the question still remained—how?
"No, it is not the time. At this rate, one-third of the world will disappear. Something has to be done before it's–"

𝘏𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘨!!!
Suddenly, immense pressure descended upon the world. Every living being, whether it was a human, monster, cultivator, animal, or insect—nobody was spared as they felt the anger of the world themselves.
They despaired at the unfolding reality, and at the same time, they also felt themselves involuntary hating the being who was the cause of this.
–𝘞𝘩𝘺?
–𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳?!
–𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦?

–𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩!!
–𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘭!!!
All of their anger, sadness, despair, and any negative emotions they felt at that time fed the Divine Tribulation brewing in the sky. It fed on anything it could find to strengthen itself—even going as far as to steal the World's Essence.
By the time anyone realized, it had already covered half of the Saha World in its sinister presence.
Seeing this, Yun Xi was also seething with anger, but it wasn't artificial emotion incited by the Innate Gods, but his genuine state of mind.
"Myriad Emperor!!! You want to drag the whole world into your own selfish schemes!"
His rage was so great that the Imperial Palace was raged to the ground. But even amid his unstable emotions, his state of mind remained stable, seeing there were not any casualties among the Palace workers.
After all, cultivation was not about power but uplifting your state of existence through countless epiphanies. A Sublime Mind and an Unbending Spirit—unaffected by the external world of desires—were absolutely necessary. It would be an utter disgrace if he were to be swallowed by his emotions.
𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘦! 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘮!
Even now, the energy emitting from the Divine Tribulation was still soaring explosively, as if wanting to destroy the world whole.
"I have to hurry."
Yun Xi was feeling a trepidation rose from within his soul as he ascended to the sky. But it proved to be difficult as the pressure hindered his Spiritas Qi.
'If that's the case, then...'
The Power of Dao awoke from his soul. Since his spirit was already broken, cultivating it was impossible, but the comprehension and Light of Dao held within his soul still remained.
His Dao was the Dao of Flow. Everything has a flow. Be it energy, life, matter, force, or fortune, even Daos held a unique sort of flow within them.
Distorting the flow of gravitational force, he forcefully reverses the force. After he was pretty far up the ground, he adjusted the flow of the force around him to not affect him as he hovered in the sky.
"Fuuh."
He instantly adjusted his breathing, expanded all his senses out to their full capacity, and felt the flow of the world more clearly. His mortal mind became overwhelmed with all the information coming in at the same time, as without his Spirit Intact, his senses and mind had also weakened significantly.
But he persevered. He gradually comprehended the flow of the karma of the world, as well as the Lightning Energy suffusing in the air.
'The Karma Flow is in chaos right now.'
Since it is an unprecedented event involving the whole of the Saha World, the Karma's steady flow had become so unsteady that it was impossible to look into the past, read the present, or predict the future.
In simple words, the world's safety—no, all the living beings safety was at stake right now.
'And the epicenter is... Valley of Death.'
𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬! 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘮! 𝘊𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘦!
"Damn it."
He hurriedly pulled back his senses and enveloped all of the Serfali Empire in his Dao Energy. It was the best he could do now with his Dao Energy.
'Feel, recognise, register, coax, and then control.'
In no time, he essentially set up a Grand Barrier around the Empire, which deviated the flow of Lightning Energy. As the Lightning Mountain as the center, all the lightning got absorbed by it.
"But the aura of death still remains."
Through his one Aura Piercing Eye, he could see that the aura of death still lingered over the majority of the citizens of his empire.
"It can't be helped. Without it's people, an Emperor is just a fancy title."
He still had plenty of Dao energy, which he diverted and used to infect every person in his empire. Setting up a new flow of the Death he imagined, he tugged at the Black Hazy Aura and diverted it towards himself as the epicentre.
As a Supreme Being, even this amount of Death Energy wouldn't permanently harm his Fortune Or Vitality, though it would inflict some heavy wounds on him.
But it was not a big deal in his eyes. Even if he did that, the thing he was interfering right now was the residual energy of the Divine Tribulation, so he was not worried about getting mixed up in it since he did not lay his hands on the energies in the vicinity of the Death Valley.
𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩!
"Now, let's see the show, shall we?"
A malignant smile appeared on his pale face as he wiped the blood with his sleeve.
"It will be quite the fun to watch a legend's fall, hahaha."
