[ Prince Kores POV ]

I don't remember much after Cain threw me aside, when my eyes opened I was inside an icebox it was Cain's, gathered mana in my hand I smashed the top of the icebox. When I popped my head out in front of me was Cain laying down and beside him was a horned knight whom I didn't recognize, he might have one who did this to our strongest knight, I quickly picked up Cain's sword and stabbed him once to make sure he doesn't get up. I ran to my red-haired knight who didn't even have time to put on his armor when the city was attacked, I was an ' Irregular being ', people who were born with abnormal magic were called Irregular beings and my irregular power was able to heal wounds with mana. I gathered mana in my hand and placed it on Cain's thighs where he was hit but my power and core were not strong enough, I kept doing this over and over until I saw Cain's fingers flicker.

I felt a bit of relief that at least he was alive.

He opens his eyes and looks at me, I couldn't understand what his look meant, he says

" I'm glad we're both okay.....But we should get going before someone comes looking for us "

" I concur, can you move? " I asked

" enough to find shelter in the forest, we should hurry my prince." He replied.

[ CAIN'S POV ]

' I don't have much time, barely at least a few hours ' I thought to myself, after a few minutes, we reached inside the forest. Remembering the time I trained here with my master I used the path I was most familiar with. The prince looks at me " We're inside the forest, now what? ", I replied, " we need to go deep inside the forest first, then we are going to track someone over there." surprisingly the prince didn't ask any questions about who the person we're gonna look for is.

As we crossed a few mountains my body couldn't take anymore and I let out a huge groan, The prince worriedly asked " Cain, are you okay, do you want to rest? ", we were still not deep inside enough, I said " I can't rest my prince, your safety comes first " The prince got furious at my answer and pointed at a cave near the mountain, the sun was almost up and we haven't rested since Kores woke me up. We headed toward the cave, I signaled the prince to stay and let me make sure if there are any monsters or beasts inside the cave.

As I entered the cave, an ineffable smell suddenly hit me, it reeked almost like blood but different at the same time, ignoring the smell I moved forward, and when I reached the end of the cave what I saw in front of me was something I'd only read in scorpin books.

" The Summoning Runes of Power "

As the books explained " The Summoning Runes of Power " were runes created by the first king of Scorpin to summon a demon, This demon helped the first king to free Scorpin from the fire monsters 30,000 years ago, Every hundred years we thank the demon by hunting fire monsters on the day of the red moon.

I called the young prince from the cave " Prince Kores, you can enter the cave it is safe."

When Kores entered the cave, he started coughing due to the smell. Cain says " my prince, cover your nose ", Kores replied " you should have said that first ", moving more inside the cave Kores spots Cain standing near the runes. Kores having no knowledge about the runes asks Cain,

"what's this?"

Cain explains

" My prince, these are The Summoning Runes of Power, The first king of Scorpin created these runes to summon a strong demon called Chronis, The demon Chronis helped the first king to defeat the fire monsters that attacked the kingdom. My prince, there is a secret of these runes that only the royal family of Scorpin and their strongest knight know."

Kores looked at Cain waiting for him to continue.

" well, go on. "

Cain walks toward the center of the rune and continues

" The creation of the summoning rune required one thousand sacrifices of human blood. "

Cain stared at the little prince, knowing this was too much for him. Yet the prince didn't show any signs of remorse for his ancestor's mass murder.

" Cain, can we summon Chronis again," Kores asked, " not sure, my prince but I read how the first king did, so ill try " Cain answered worriedly, he thought to himself ' In order to summon Chronis again, I'll have to give everything I have into the rune including a good amount of blood, might even lose my life '

Kores questions " What do we have to do to summon Chronis? "

Cain responds " You, my prince have to hide and cover your nose, because its gonna get smelly here "

Kores not understanding what his knight meant took a few steps back.

Cain stabbed his wound again and letting out a groan, Kores yells " Cain, What are you doing?! "

" Stay back my prince, this is the only way "

Kores not wanting to stay still started rushing toward Cain to heal him but stopped when he saw the runes reacting to Cain's blood. Cain started forcing all his mana from his core into the runes, the runes were accepting Cain's mana for a few minutes when suddenly the cave started shaking with too much mana. A huge blast sent Cain flying backward and hitting the cave's end, Kores couldn't see anything because of the dust so he shouted

" Cain! "

" I'm okay, my prince " Cain lied. Blood was gushing out of his chest when he got hit by the huge blast made by the runes.

as the dust cleared away, Cain smiled and looked at the Kores the young prince standing looking at the portal created by runes and Cain's power, Kores shouts " CAIN, WE DID IT, WE CAN SAVE SCORPIN! "

Cain had no strength to stand up, Kores had a huge smile on his face, he was waiting for Chronis to walk out of the portal.

[ KORES'S POV ]

A couldn't hold back my excitement about seeing Demon Chronis,

I stood there for five whole minutes smiling until I heard a voice from the portal.

" Who do you wish to summon, child ",

Kores replied " The Demon Chronis ",

Just when I said Chronis I felt a pressure out of the portal I took a few steps back and whoossh,

The portal vanished leaving a huge smoke in the cave, In that smoke, I heard people's voices,

" Please Help, is anyone there, my brother is bleeding "

I ran inside, couldn't see everything, I saw a man trying to stop his friend from bleeding with a cloth, I hurried to him and gathered mana in my hand, placed my palm on his friend's eyes and started healing him, I thought to myself ' is this a test from Chronis to see if I will help those in need ' as I quickly healed the person, I stood up and moved a few steps back.

And waited for Chronis to appear, The person I healed was unconscious beside him were three more people unconscious, as I looked at Cain he was staring at the person who called for help, I didn't see the person who called for help and started running toward Cain to help.

Cain said, " My prince stay back!" ,

I instantly stopped and looked at the person who called for help,

his hair was bright white, and I couldn't tell what he was feeling inside, his expression was blank, I looked at Cain and I've seen Cain fight father but he never showed this kind of impression, I could tell he was afraid I don't know for what, at that point, I wondered if this person is really him not able to hold back my excitement I said,

" Chronis "

and he looked at me.
