Chapter 1

With a loud shout a young sickly looking and handsome man shot

up from his bed.

"Master Ling Ming is awake!" A young girl voiced yelled with shock and

a little sullenness. The boy who suddenly shot up turned his head

looking at a young girl only around the tender age of ten and felt

a sudden peg of pain rush to his head that sent him down to his

knees. A rush of memories flooded Ling Ming's head as the servent

girl rushed to his side and laid his body back down on the mat.

"Little Xe, where am I?" his voice was crate from dryness and

but his eyes were clear as the blue sky. The servant girl who

had been with the young master for the last five years faced

turned red for and instance before she retrieved her barring and

grabbed some water tipping it to his mouth.

"Master after you were to marry into the Tang family the little

miss went... out but the elders carried on the ceremony without

her as they said it was for business." The slight paused caused

the memories in Ling Ming had to awaken and a frown painted his

pale white face.

He had been the former head of the families son and was to be

its successor but life had other plans. His father was killed

when he was eight and he got sick halting is already average

talent in martial arts. His uncle took over the family and his

son who has showed talent in cultivating and was taken into

the Torrent Flame sec had basically made his existence and hindered

in the clan. Even thought his family weren't a martial family since

is grandfather generation they have slowly been head toward that

way.

Ling Ming wasn't stupid and supped that his uncle had a hand

with his fathers murder. Even if other suspected as well the

uncle brought to many benefits to the clan that they over looked

his deeds. The only one who even treated Ling Ming well was his

grandfather whom had become old and sadder since his favorite sons

death. Even when his uncle would visit with him their his grand

father would only take him in making is stance clear. Even if

the clan won't punish you, to me you are not my son. This atmosphere

took a turn when his grandfather got sick suddenly.

His old friends family the Tangs a small merchant group that

he help in his younger years had profited well and found a

rare medication he needed. As thanks they asked his grandfather

to let his promise of tieing the family together he made in

his youth come true. Back in the day his grandfather promised

to marry their children but they had males which prevented

it from happening. Since their grandchildren were Ling Ming

and the Tang granddaughter Tang Xe they could keep their promise.

Ling Ming knew this innocent suggestion would lead to his ruin

as it was ok for a women to marry into a family but for a male

to do so would be stripping him of all his rights. For instance

if he open restaurant that became successful his family wouldn't

get the profit only the Ming would. Even if he had children they

would take the sur name Tang.

His grandfather refuted the suggestion but his uncle and grand

mother convinced him somehow. His last night their his grandfather

who didn't cry when his son died nor his first wife shed tear

in front of Ling Ming. He heart ached for the old man and he

left with a smile telling him he would live well before cutting

ties with his family.

The servant girl stared at Ling Ming as he was in his dazed not

moving and inch. After a long while Ling Ming sighed and his head

cleared. He was and ancient cultivator and at the same time a

person name Ling Ming. Even thought he felt the giant bump on his

head were he got hit with a rock on his arrival sending him tumbling

down the stairs he knew he hadn't died. When he open his eyes it

felt like he awoke from a long dream remembering only a portion

of it though. He sighed turned his sore head toward the young

girl with her head down at him and a soft smile appeared on his

lips, "Little Xa could you get me something to eat please".

Her eye dotted up and nodded her head in a fury before running

away. Ling Ming smiled turning his head to looked out the

open window of the old house and smiled. "Well then looks like

I will work hard once more reached the heavens".
