Chapter 8: “Le Palais de Lune”

A happy meal at Le Palais de Lune

Master Reginald nodded in satisfaction, grinning amusedly at my choice, though I could also see approval in his eyes. "An excellent choice, Your Excellency. With your permission, I shall begin crafting your masterpiece."

I offered my consent with a grateful smile, recalling all I had heard about the skilled hands of Master Reginald and the artisans of Kingsmen from Mom, Aunt Nora, and even Uncle Sebastian. I was eager to see the results.

"Sir Reginald, I extend my sincere gratitude for your hospitality. It was truly a pleasure to acquire our attire here at Kingsmen," I remarked, inclining my head respectfully to acknowledge his expertise and craftsmanship.

"The pleasure is ours, Your Excellency," Sir Reginald replied with a deep bow of respect. "It is an honor to serve House Drakesier."

As we exchanged parting pleasantries, the chime of my phone interrupted the conversation.

Hmm, Aunt Nora’s message… I observed, glancing at the screen. Whew! Finally, I can hunt down materials for making enchanted gear for Ed and Alice.

So many formalities, so much dignified wording, and my face hurts from all the smiling.

Turning towards Uncle Sebastian, I said, “Uncle, Aunt Nora’s group is also done with major shopping and messaged me to join them at Le Palais de Lune. Assuming that's a restaurant here?”

“Oh! A fine choice indeed, Young Master. Yes, it's a renowned restaurant.”

"Let us make our way then. I trust Little Justin knows the route," Uncle Sebastian said, smiling as he teased our guide. I couldn't help but chuckle at Justin's attempt to appear taller.

"Indeed," I thought to myself. Hmm, like a small kitty. With a silent laugh, we followed Justin as he led the way to our destination.

As we approached the restaurant, its grandeur was immediately apparent. Like most of the places here, I assumed each shop had an entire floor to itself—no, more like a separate space—and each of these spaces had an environment or vibe that matched the shop.

Yeah, there's a very high level of enchanting going on here, probably similar to the Dome. If I remember right, after an incursion that happened here... was it five to eight years ago? The Manager took up the post and rebuilt this place. The efforts must have been mind-boggling to make something like this...

The exterior of Le Palais de Lune was adorned with intricate carvings and golden accents, exuding an aura of elegance and sophistication befitting nobility. The entrance was flanked by ornate columns, and a grand staircase led up to the imposing double doors.

Outside the restaurant, Aunt Nora, Ari, Layla, and Misha awaited our arrival. They stood beneath the soft glow of lampposts, their silhouettes casting long shadows on the cobblestone pavement, seemingly in conversation with the establishment's manager.

"Hello, Aunt Nora, Arisa, Layla, Misha," I greeted them warmly, a smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

"Seems like the experience at the Kingsmen was wonderful," Aunt Nora replied, her voice tinged with mild curiosity, probably wondering what design I had gone with. "And Alex, allow me to introduce you to Miss Julianne, the manager of this esteemed establishment," Aunt Nora said, gesturing toward the blonde beauty standing before us.

Miss Julianne extended her hand with grace, her smile radiant and welcoming. "Hello, Your Excellency. It's an honor to be in your presence," she greeted me, her voice smooth and melodic.

"The pleasure is mine, Miss Julianne," I replied, returning her handshake.

"Thank you for hosting us. Your restaurant ambiance is truly a marvel." Ms. Julianne's eyes sparkled with appreciation at the compliment.

"Thank you, Your Excellency. We take great pride in providing our guests with unforgettable dining experiences," she replied, her tone humble yet confident.

As our brief conversation came to an end, I couldn't help but admire Ms. Julianne's poise and professionalism.

It seems the Bazaar is filled with talents and professionals. Something's up... When Aunt Nora introduced her as the manager of this restaurant, it gave a normal vibe, but when she introduced the Manager of the Bazaar, it felt different... Even thinking of the Bazaar gives a different vibe...

A similar thing happened when The Manager greeted Aunt Nora and Uncle Sebastian... No, he said The White Saintess and The Harbinger... Yes, and it made their presence or aura subtly known to us... Titles... Aunt Nora and Mom did something about them...

Thought for later. For now, let's enjoy!

As we exchanged pleasantries, Justin and Aunt Nora took a moment to commend the restaurant's magnificence, praising its splendid architecture and esteemed reputation for fine dining.

"Truly a remarkable establishment," Justin remarked, his eyes gleaming with admiration.

"I couldn't agree more," Aunt Nora concurred, nodding in appreciation.

Everything here... The atmosphere gives off serene vibes, calm as night... Moon and night, that's their theme. Le Palais de Lune... The Palace of the Moon, that's the meaning... and again, a very subtle vibe for the name Le Palais de Lune rather than from its meaning...

With a gracious gesture, Aunt Nora invited Justin and Misha to join us for dinner, an invitation they graciously accepted.

Yeah, both of them are like kittens. It seems in some moments they forget to portray the guide persona, and their inner cats come out. The only thing lacking is a little tail and cat ears...

Inside, the opulent interior dazzled us with its crystal chandeliers, polished marble floors, and plush velvet furnishings.

"Welcome to Le Palais de Lune," the manager announced, her voice resonating in the grand space, "Please, allow me to escort you to your table."

With gratitude, we followed the manager through the maze of corridors and alcoves until we reached a private dining room, secluded from the main hall by heavy velvet curtains.

"Here is your table, Your Excellencies," the manager said, deftly pulling out a chair. "I trust it will provide the ideal setting for your evening."

Expressing our thanks, we settled into our seats, eager to embark on an evening filled with delectable cuisine and delightful company. The aroma of rich, tantalizing flavors filled the air as we settled into our seats at Le Palais de Lune. The soft glow of crystal chandeliers bathed the room in a warm, inviting light, casting a spell of enchantment over the opulent interior. As I perused the menu, my eyes widened at the array of culinary delights awaiting us.

Umm, that’s a lot of dishes, and I don’t know any... Let Aunt Nora order for me.

Before I knew it, the orders had been placed, and some dishes were already arriving at our table.

I decided to start with a decadent appetizer of seared foie gras, its velvety texture melting on my tongue with each luxurious bite. The richness of the foie gras was perfectly complemented by a drizzle of tangy balsamic reduction, creating a symphony of flavors that danced across my palate.

For the main course, with the choices in front of me, I opted for the chef's signature dish—a succulent rack of lamb, perfectly cooked to tender perfection. Each bite was a revelation, the meat melting in my mouth and infusing my senses with its savory essence. Accompanying the lamb were creamy mashed potatoes, whipped to perfection, and a medley of seasonal vegetables, their vibrant colors adding a burst of freshness to the plate.

As I savored each mouthful, I couldn't help but marvel at the culinary mastery on display.

Damn, it’s finger-licking good... a different taste and feeling, probably from a lot of rare resources and herbs. Yeah, not for every day. I already feel bloated.

Each dish was a testament to the skill and creativity of the chefs at Le Palais de Lune, their passion for gastronomy evident in every detail. As the meal drew to a close, I felt a sense of satisfaction wash over me, knowing that I had experienced something truly extraordinary.

Damn, I’m full... And looking at everyone, they seem full too. Ari seemingly made friends with Misha... a welcome surprise considering her personality.
