Hope you're all doing great! First off, MASSIVE thanks for reading my little novel. Can you believe it's been around 30 days? Neither can I! Considering it was my first shot at this whole writing thing, it went pretty well, thanks to all the awesome communities I interacted with along the way. I’m hitting the reset button with a whole new entry point for the story. Think of the current chapters as the "backstory" to Alexis’ tale, the calm before the chaos, because we all know the main event is where the real fun starts.

I've already whipped up some fresh new chapters with a grimdark vibe, because let’s be honest, that’s what we all love, right? More action, more drama, and less of me pretending to be gentle.

Buckle up, it's about to get wild!

Was I even alive?

All that surrounded me was blackness, thick, suffocating, as if I was wrapped in the cold grip of the void itself. No thoughts, no memories, just an endless expanse of nothing. I don't know how long I was trapped in this limbo.

Am I dead? I wondered. Is this what death feels like?

Then, a voice. Whispering faintly at the edge of my awareness. The words blurred, but the message was unmistakable

Let go. Sleep forever.

My mind clung to that thought, desperate. Letting go seemed so… easy. No pain. No fear. Just peace. But the pain didn’t disappear it only grew. Faint, then creeping, gnawing. Something sharp. Something tearing. Wet. Hot. Moving inside me.

The fog lifted, and with it, I wished it hadn't. A grotesque sound—slurping, chewing—echoed in the darkness. My body was being ripped apart. Bit by bit.

My vision swam, fighting the black void. Shapes blurred into view, then sharpened.

And there it was.

A ugly F**k monster, crouched over me, gnawing into my stomach. Its skin clung to its bony frame, withered like a corpse that had long refused to rot. And its face a nightmare of jagged bone and leathery skin, blood dripping from its maw. My blood.

I couldn’t move. I couldn’t scream. The creature fed on me, oblivious to my existence beyond the meat I provided.

Let go, the sweet voice whispered again. Sleep…

But something flickered inside me. A memory. A boy. Blood. A monster’s hand ripping through his chest.

My heart tightened. Rage. Grief.

Edward.

The name exploded through me like lightning. Power surged inside me, a tidal wave too strong to contain. My eyes locked onto the creature.

I screamed, not in pain, but in pure, raw fury.

And the world trembled.
