Fenrir once again found himself in the familiar dream-like realm, standing face to face with the radiant figure of Storm.
"Fenrir, congratulations on passing the martial intent test," Storm's voice rang out. "Now that you are Level 1, I will explain the Wolf System to you."
Fenrir met Storm's gaze with determination, eager to learn more about this wolf system.
"The Wolf System can only be activated once you've passed the martial intent test; otherwise, it would serve no purpose to you," Storm explained.
"So, if I had failed the intent test but passed the affinity test, I wouldn't have been able to activate the Wolf System?" Fenrir inquired.
"Exactly," Storm affirmed. "Now, there's a power ranking system in this world, which runs parallel to the Wolf System. It goes up to 10, referred to as Lumos. But in the Wolf System, we simply call it 'Level.'"
"Lumos?" Fenrir questioned, intrigued.
"Yes, the knights from the academy will provide more details about that. As for your Level, it correlates with your Lumos. Currently, you are Lumos 1, which means you are Level 1."
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Fenrir absorbed this information and sought further clarification. "How do I raise my Level?"
"By raising your Lumos," Storm responded. "The academy will teach you how to do that. Now, let me explain the Wolf System in more detail. You can check your status when you're awake by closing your eyes and saying 'status' in your mind. In your current state of unconsciousness, you can also say 'status,' and it will work."
"Okay, status," Fenrir said, intrigued by this newfound knowledge.
[STATUS]
Name – Fenrir Ranthrift
Level – 1
HP – 455
Strength - 70
Stamina – 95
Agility – 90
Swordplay – LV 2
Skills – None
Fenrir studied the attributes and inquired, "What do the numbers like 70, 95, and 90 represent?"
"These are ratings for your attributes," Storm explained patiently. "An average man has attributes around 60, and their HP is usually around 300. However, since you are Lumos 1, you have already surpassed the attributes of a fully grown, normal adult."
Fenrir nodded, beginning to grasp the concept. "And what about skills?"
"As you level up, the system will grant you skills, or you can acquire them externally, just like regular knights do."
Fenrir contemplated this information, then asked a more profound question. "Does anyone else have this system, or am I the only one? And what is the purpose of this system?"
"In the entire kingdom, you are the only one known to possess this system," Storm replied. "The system's purpose is to guide the user towards becoming stronger. Fenrir, you have been chosen for a special destiny. That's all I can reveal for now. I must go, Fenrir. Good luck, and we will meet again."
With those words, Storm began to fade away, leaving Fenrir to awaken from his dream.
As Fenrir opened his eyes, he realized it was the second day of the test, and he had six more days to wait before leaving for the capital and enrolling in the knight academy. In his room, Fenrir was preparing to head out for breakfast when a sudden knock interrupted his thoughts. He opened the door to find a man with a slightly startled expression.
"Greetings, Fenrir. I am Selle, and I work for Count Landgrave. He asked me to deliver this message to you."
Selle handed Fenrir an envelope, and after a brief exchange, he took his leave.
Fenrir examined the envelope, which bore the city's seal. He carefully tore it open and read its contents: an invitation from the count for dinner that evening.
