3rd person pov:
As soon as Itami heard the man's words, he ceased all attempts to break free.
It was simply useless, and all it did was cause pain for him.
A professional might fight through the pain, and secretly try to find a way out; however, Itami wasn't a professional. Itami wasn't a chevalier. Itami was only eight.
Although Itami's father raised him to be brave, he did not raise him a masochist or a torture specialist.
In Itami's heart, all he hoped was that they would let him go. However, unfortunately for Itami, his suffering wouldn't end there.
Although he stopped moving, the burning sensation never stopped. He tried to stay still for fear of what the masked man might do, but the internal temperature of his body kept rising.
Eventually, Itami's body betrayed his mind and started to tremble, and as his body started to move more and more crows started to swarm him and tear his body apart.
**Aaaaahhhh** Itami howled as he felt the burning sensation. and the wounds on his body started to multiply.
In anguish Itami spoke, "Why are you doing this to me!", but the masked man didn't respond. After 1 hour, the masked man's crows stopped, and the burning started to reside.
Then he fed Itami rock-hard bread, gave him first aid, and left the room without saying a word.
This process would continue for two months. Sleep, burn, beat, eat, treat, repeat.
Itami's pov 2 months later:
I've slowly lost my sense of time, as the hourglass tilted, it could've been days, weeks, or months, but all of that is irrelevant.
All that matters is getting through the next round of torture, and getting my reward sleep.
In this world of only pain and suffering, sleep has been my only solace because in my dreams every day I see my mother and father.
Every day we played underneath the sunlight, I saw the beautiful glow of my father's aspect as he told me stories of the chevalier, the heroes, that always came to save the day, and acted with vigor.
Vigor, he would always say that word telling me that when I grow up I should get up and go make something of myself.
How I'm so glad he can't see me now. Although I miss him the most, I fear he would be disappointed in me seeing my eyes that have grown desolate and pale.
Third person pov
Then suddenly the door opened, and the man with the crow mask walked in.
Once, Itami saw his captor he didn't feel anger towards him because to feel anger he'd have to feel; to feel he'd have to remember, and if he remembered all the pain he went through he'd die.
And dying wasn't an option for him. He must live if not for himself than for his mother because he could go through all the pain in the world, but he'd never leave his family alone.
This was his hero's trial like his father always told him. He was determined to pass it, so he steeled his mind like a sword and prepared for todays torture.
However, much to his surprise time slowly went on and the man's crows never got within 15 feet of him.
This was a great shock to Itami because, since the first session, the man would always start the torture immediately as he walked in.
'Maybe this means I won't be tortured today? Maybe he took pity on me? '
Thinking these thoughts Itami shook his head fervently internally knowing that wouldn't be the case.
'There's no way he would take pity on me' he reasoned hesitantly thinking about what he'd gone through the last time he asked the man for pity.
No matter how much he begged for him to stop his crows from bombarding him they never moved an inch from their attacking positions.
But he's supposed to expect that man to give him pity.
'What a joke!' Itami thought.
Of course, Itami was right, but if only he knew how right he was. However, before he could continue his detective work he saw another man pompously waltz in with an oddly shaped linen bag.
He wore a rabbit shaped mask and had orange hair. Itami didn't have much of an impression of him, only that he wasn't nearly as scary as the man with the crows.
Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation.
However, what he'd soon do would leave him infuriated. The rabbit man opened the bag, and for the first time in months, he was enraged.
There his mother was unconscious in the sack with more tattered wounds on her body than he'd seen two months prior.
This clearly showed that his mom had went through more torture, and the thought of his mom facing something similar to him made his blood boil.
Seeing the look of defiance and pure hatred on Itami's face the rabbit-masked man started to speak. "Ooh, that look is scary.
You'd think I killed your family or something. Oh wait I did." (Hehe) The man laughed in a lustful tone.
"If only your strength was as powerful as your glare, maybe your dear old dad would be alive."
Hearing this man say these words a vein started to bulge in Itami's head.
"He thought he was so cool, but where did that get him? With his head on a post and his wife .. "
As Itami listened to the man berate his father he had enough, so before he could finish his sentence a wad of spit landed on the bunny-masked man's cheek.
Rabbit Man's point of view
As I watched the boy look at me with Ire, I was delighted. For the first time in years I felt ecstasy being able to drag that man's name through the mud.
He had been the cause of many of his sleepless nights and now he was finally dead.
I even get to rub it in his son's face. This might be the best day of my life, maybe I should throw a parade when I get home.
As my eyes started to roll back as I thought about the different ways I could torture him physically and mentally,
** splat **
I felt a warm viscous liquid fall on my cheek. I was irate. Then the brat continued to say
"Shut up!! My father was a great man, and he was two times the man you'll ever be."
I truly didn't know what infuriated me more, the lube on my cheek, or the fact that the brat still had such will.
To be honest it didn't matter because either way I was pissed off.
** Crash **
I clutched the boy's neck and I buried it in the pavement. Once again his bodily fluids besmirched my face.
This time I wasn't too mad because it was his blood, and it wouldn't be the last of it that he would shed in these next moments.
I started pummeling him into the ground, breaking many bones, and giving him many bruises when suddenly I was stopped by Karasukage (bird face).
At first in my anger, I didn't realize who it was and tried to use my ether to power through him. Then I felt a dark chill down my body.
This was a 10-star knight-ranks' ether. It was terrifying.
"Are you finally done with your temper tantrum?
Have you thought about how if you kill the boy I was going to get my reward?
Let me warn you once. Whatever vendetta you and your father have against the boy It's best you let it go.
If you're the reason I fail this mission I will make you regret it." Said kage with a solemn look on his face.
'Oh please' I thought
'How are you going to kill me when I'm a'
"And if you think I can't kill you without a good reason… your right, but I can torture you in a way you wouldn't dare speak of it.
Starting with that little guy in between your legs".
Quickly I closed my legs and nodded rapidly, but then suddenly blood started pouring from my abdomen.
When I looked down to see the source I was surprised to see it wasn't the astonished Kage.
It was that little brat. However, he looked different. His eyes normally a calm azure turned yellow in color matching his hair and inscribed on them were runic circles.
'Those eyes' I thought in surprise 'I guess he did get them'. Seeing me lose blood Karasukage prepared to send his crows to deal with the boy, but he was stopped.
Not by the boy, but by me. "Don't interfere. He's mine" I said with a cold glint in my eye.
