Primordial Biology 101 - Tribes of the Primordial Era

Hello there students, please, come inside since the lesson will be starting in a moment.

Cornelio already told me that we had good affluence but it's great to see so many people interested in our preliminary lessons.

I am your Biology professor, Filippo Dorati, and we will see each other for the Biology courses as well as in "Basics and Principles of Survivalism In The Wildlands" and "Defence Against Beasts and Monstrosityintroductory"; while I love to answer questions about the South Wildlands in which I have spent the last few years, you should try to focus on the topics of this introductory lessons.

With the introductions done, we can start with the lesson: today we will talk about two of the Tribes from the Primordial Era.

You have not been introduced so far to any further definitions but in my field, we usually divide the Tribes into two categories, Earthlings and Otherlings, or Non-Earthlings; as most of you should be able to guess, we consider earthlings all the tribes that are comfortable living on earth, while the rest are considered Otherlings.

The Tribes created by Gressa and Flamma are considered Earthlings, while those which were created by Anema and Iride have adapted to different habitats.

There is an ulterior distinction, each Grand Spirit has created a Tribe more similar to itself and less humanoid in shape, known as Lesser Spirits, and one that is more similar to what we consider a humanoid shape, known as Demihumans.

This type of categorization is older and more frowned upon since it uses terminology considered by some offensive and is excessively anthropocentric, however, most scholars from any tribe accept it as effective and efficient.

We will start by seeing the general characteristics of the four main Demihuman Sub-Tribes, this is not applicable to every single member of them to a perfect degree but serves the purpose of underlining some basic traits.

Let me add one last thing.

I will not tolerate any form of racism towards any person, inside or outside this University.

There is no superior or inferior race, and nobody should ever be considered such; any being capable of thoughts is entitled to respect and peace.

Having said that we can finally start with the Djins.

Djins are tall humanoids with two sets of upper limbs, an elongated pair of arms, placed at the height of the shoulder, and a lower one, shorter but stronger; as most demihumans, they have five fingers, although generally longer and made of four to five phalanxes. They have two legs, as per the humanoid shape, with strong and elastic muscles, capable of incredible resistance feat but not particularly suited for explosive exercises, paired with feet with six fingers, which grant them great stability while running but also are not particularly strong and tend to break fairly easy if the Djin starts running barefoot at their full speed.

Djins tend to have corvine hair, often very decorated with colourful beads and pearls, paired with reddish skin that is quite dry and hot when compared to a human one.

From the cultural standpoint, the Djins are a tribe of nomadic people that currently inhabits the northern planes of the United Kingdoms of Commerce and each nuclear family bonds with a couple of peculiar animals, the Djinissi, that are vital to their lifestyle since they help move the poles and tents in which Djins live. The life of a family is considered tied to one of their Djinissis and as soon as a baby Djin has been given birth, a Djinissi will soon follow.

Young Djin learns to walk steading themselves to the Djinissi calf and as soon as they are ready, they hunt together in the wild. Djinissi are trained and raised exclusively by Djins and are considered sacred to Flamma.

It is extremely rare, although possible, that an outsider is gifted a Djinissi; this honour is done only by Shamans through a complex ritual that can last up to 3 days, after which the recipient is functionally considered a member of the Tribe.

The ritual of the gift is the highest possible expression of affection and respect a Djin can make.

Oh, look at the time. I got caught on and I talked far too much but there is so much more to expand on, however, we will see tomorrow with a lesson on two more Demihuman Tribes, thanks for your attention, everybody.
