Looking out into the darkness past the flickering lights was a humbling experience. Howls and shrill cries echoed across the wasteland, and the lack of any light farther than a few meters from where he sat gave sent chills down his spine.

A small tick of warmth touched him yet again as he sat balanced on the ledge. As he pulled the screen of light into center view Castor reminded himself why he was examining the mass of darkness before him.

After passing out a week ago, a section of the screen which was initially unintelligible gave limited information for something called Potential Points. The Allocation of which was split into three branches, which had not yet been activated. And whose titles Castor assumes will be shown to him when he receives his first point.

He received an additional surprise after wakening up as well. Something called a quest. This one was Titled {Explore Environment}, and he had been working on it for a few days.

Upon receiving it he started immediately determined to receive a Lvl and his first Potential Point. After examining most of the publicly available places in the city, Castor was disappointed by his progress being bellow the 50% mark. Leading to him utilizing his fathers network and access the crime dominated parts of the city. Giving him another 30% after his extensive search.

Then yesterday Inspiration had struck, environment did not only include the city itself but the vast darkness around the perimeter and above the city itself. So he had struck out to the wall and took seat to examine it more closely.

As he worked on the monotonous task of looking at the surrounding darkness Castor started to zone out.

A few days ago after his allocation of points he had passed out and was eventually found by a few of his friends from the training area. They told him after he had woken hours later that they thought he exhausted himself and were concerned for his safety. So they just brought him back to the training center. Staying to help make sure everything was alright.

After waking up he felt overly stuffy and very tired which made them think he really did overdo the workout.

Smiling Castor remembered all the teasing he had to endure after that.

He thought about his relationship with the three of them. As their friend and role model it was hard to tell what they really thought about him as a person.

Despite all of his strengths Castor knew he was not a social person at heart and had a tendency to misread others.

So thinking about their individual character he tried to formulate a response to the question which puzzled him.

He had known the Tank in the group, Stone, for at least a few years now. Having been introduced to him by Rufus, the Spear Warrior. The two of them both were pranksters and had some very obvious crushes on the fourth member of the group, Sasha. Who is the Ranged Attacker and Medic of our little Squad. Who also liked them both?

After meeting in the city proper a few years back Caster and the group had stumbled upon a collection of books detailing party compositions and roles.

The books were at least a hundred years old, and were stashed away in some random alley.

So after some deliberation all of them tore a page out the book detailing the role they were interested in, and swiftly hid the book again.

Sighing Castor came to the conclusion that maybe he could trust them enough to try being friends with them.

A movement in his peripheral vision stopped him from zoning out as he saw what looked like a sickly white arm extend at least 6 meters from the darkness.

Slowly it flexed its many fingers, extending further from the palm outwards after every motion.

It reached for him silently as it swayed in the dim light. Yet it did not strain in its attempts, lazily so.

The thought of this silent predator grabbing him filled his mind with terror as he froze in place. Which allowed the many fingers to latch onto his cloths. Exploding into motion the fingers griped him and the arm flexed like a bow. Intending to drag him into the Great Dark. As Prey
