100 years before Castor was born the world was bathed in the Great Dark.  Cities of light remain, but no one sane would venture past the flickering light keeping the horrors of the dark at bay. To live meant to be blind, to have never experienced the light of the world. Castor could see the Sun. It shines brightly. Just for him.
