Tale about fish

3 - Impressions

There is white, or light, all around. A door stands in the nothingness, it has no handle. The air smells familiar.

Someone knocks on the door. It is raining outside the door. Someone knocks again, more urgently.

The door slides down vertically, leaving nothing behind.

The sense of balance is off. Where is up and where is down? A child laughs far off in the distance.

A narrow path appears, going off towards infinity.

An old man walks forwards, closer and closer, leaning on his cane. He smiles at you, missing teeth and tired eyes.

His body turns into a snake underneath his clothes, and the snake coils around the upstanding cane.

You take the cane. It feels light in your hands. You walk towards the big white clock.

It ticks backwards, and has many hands. Flowers grow all around it, numbers hidden behind the beautiful colorful petals.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

The cane feels cold in your hand. Your hand reaches out to the clock, but the snake bites you. Just a pinch, it barely hurts.

But you can't move anymore. Body still like stone, frozen in place. The clock grows larger and larger, and falls on you.

Everything turns dark. You feel cozy, as if the darkness was keeping you warm. The air smells familiar again.

A chime rings...

Sakana was staring into the mirror, brushing her silky hair. Curious blue eyes staring back at her.

She felt like she had just forgotten something very important, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

Umeko had told her all about déjà vu and jamais vu, but she felt something that was somehow fitting of both words.

No wonder everyone thought she was weird.
