It was early in the morning, the village was usually very quiet at a time like this. But suddenly from the house of Dyke’s household, a loud shout could be heard.

“Happy Birthday Ryan!”

Ryan woke up in a surprise, he glanced at his surrounding and found a group of people inside his room. Someone were holding a cake, and the others held a cracker.

“Hahaha thank you guys, to prepare a surprise party for me. I didn’t expect for all of you to wake me up like this”

Everyone was in his room. There were his parents, Mr. and Mrs Quartz, Rara, Dwayne, and Fero. Everyone were grinning even though it was still 6 in the morning.

Ryan used to wake up at 5, but last night training were more intense than usual. He didn’t get enough sleep. Looks like his father too was scheming for this surprise party.

“Humph, if we do it the roundabout way, we were sure that you’ll be able to figure it out and spoiled the fun” said Rara, she remembered Ryan’s last birthday, when he suddenly showed up when people were still preparing.

“Yeah Rara is right, don’t you remember the birthday before that? You made us let slip about everything. You tricked us!” Said Dwayne and Fero

“Haha easy guys, it’s just that your acting skill was way too poor. Everyone could see through that”  

Ryan laughed, his two best friends couldn't help but frown.

“Hahaha here Ryan, blow the candles and make your wish”  said Noir and Sieg, they were holding the cake.

Ryan closed his eyes and made his wish.

“I wish that I could be the greatest bearers and I could protect everyone that is precious to me” thought Ryan to himself.

“Fuh!”

“Great, now let’s eat. I have prepared all of your favorite meals today” said Noir, followed by everyone going to the living room.

…

“Ryan, this is what you wished for, come and take a look” said Sieg, while taking a blue box from his room.

Ryan know what this is, it’s his personal weapon. After watching the duel, he decided what kind of weapon he will use. And he already asked his Dad to make it.

Ryan then opened the box, there’s a pair of gloves with a light blue color. It looked very light but sturdy. It has steel embedded inside, to protect the fist without hindering its movement.

He knew that his Dad and Mr. Quartz made this. They were both a great smiths. Especially Mr. Quartz.

“Yeahhh!! Thank you Dad and Mr. Quartz! Can I put it right away?”

“Hohoho of course you can, Ryan. I and your Dad have gone through much trouble making it, you’ll see why after you have equipped it.” Said Mr. Quartz.

Ryan then put the gloves on. The inside was very soft, it has finger plates to protect his fist. It’s light blue color really match Ryan’s blue eyes.

Then suddenly, the gloves emanated blue aura.

“Could it be…” Ryan was astonished.

“Yes Ryan, it was made by fusing Mana Core essence with steel. It could emit a weak protective layer of mana. Even though you are not a bearer, you can protect yourself from Mana Beasts in case something happens.”

Sieg was very proud with the gloves he made. He know that Ryan will not do anyhing crazy, but he made sure that he prepared everything if an accident happened.

Ryan’s eyes were wide in amazement, he knew that his Dad and Mr. Quartz were talented. But he didn’t expect that it would be this great, far exceeding his expectation.

“Then I guess it’s our turn now” said Noir, she asked Rara to bring a light blue box which they have prepared.

“Hmm I wonder what it is” Ryan was curious about what kind of gift he will receive.

Ryan opened the box. It turns out to be a necklace with a light blue colors. The gem in the middle was glowing with a faint blue aura.

“Isn’t this a mana core..?”

“You have a weapon now, but we were still worried about you. This pendant have an ability to protect its owner in a protective layer of mana. It could run out of energy though.” Said Rara.

Rara then took the pendant from Ryan’s hand, she moved closer to him and she wrapped pendant around Ryan’s neck.

“There, it matched your eyes’s color perfectly.” Said Rara, smiling.

Their gaze met. Her hands were still wrapped around Ryan’s neck. She then realized the position she was in. She blushed and quickly moved away.

“Hoho looks like our daughter is quite bold, dear” said Mrs. Quartz

Seeing this, everyone laughed. Except for Rara and Ryan who was red from ear to ear.

“Uhhh enough! Let’s eat the dish, I’m starving!” Rara tried to change the topic. She still couldn’t hide her blushing face.

Ryan was truly happy that day. Those people were really precious to him.

…

A few months after the party. In a forest near the village.

“Roaarr!!”

A kid was being chased by a Mana Beast. It was a tiger like creature with three horns. It’s size was comparable to normal tiger.

Their speed was about the same, but to the tiger, this place was like it’s own home. This difference alone made their distance grew closer every seconds.

The kid with the brown hair looked at the tiger while running, he too knew that it would only a matter of time before the tiger caught him.

He analyzed his surrounding, his blue eyes shined when he saw a big bush. He sprinted his way towards it.

The tiger still chased him, it was looking forward to eat its prey. But suddenly the kid vanished into the bush.

The tiger was startled, but it knew that the bush wasn’t very thick. The kid could not hide there. The tiger followed him, but just when it got out from the bush what await him was something it never expected.

The kid was already swinging his fist right into the tiger’s eyes. His movement looked like he already knew where and how the tiger would come out from the bush.

The tiger couldn’t react, it could only saw a blue light growing closer and closer to its head.

“Crack!”

The fist connected. The tiger’s skull was partially destroyed, its right eye was no more. It could still survive but having its head bashed like that made it couldn’t move properly.

Using its left eye, it tried to look at the kid. But the kid was already gone.

“BANG!”

A punch came to the tiger’s right head, it’s blind spot. It easily destroyed its head. The tiger died instantly.

It turned out that after executing his first punch, the kid didn’t just stayed there. It instantly circled the tiger, preparing for his second strike.

The tiger was outwitted by the kid, and that brown haired kid with blue eyes turned out to be Ryan!

PS : I am entering my end term exam week. So i couldn't update often. The first wave of exam will end in Wednesday, so see you till then!
