The door opened slowly as the light slowly as a rush of cool refreshing air overflowed into the musty damp air of iron and body odor building up within the workshop. As the door was moving Yue Fei drew the weapon strapped onto his hip and held it at the ready the moment the doors were above his head and he saw his target he squeezed the trigger. Pssst! Out came a rush of compressed air and a thin object that sprang out from the barrel of the weapon and into the chest of one of the white creatures.
Yue Fei rushed out ahead of the others his weapon held at the ready letting out shot after shot needing only one single shot to kill his targets those that got too close to him he answered with his sword. Drawing out his sword from his hip in a single swift motion the sword cracking with lighting the moment it left its scabbard bisecting it from its waist in half, he didn’t even pay any mind to it as it head land in front of his feet as he crushed its skull in underneath his armored boot its blood splattering over it.
Outside of the building was a warzone an all out contest of strength and numbers, few turned to face the humans as they emerged from their hole. Bodies was spurn about littering around the pavement floor cracks forming like spider webs, massive carters digging deep into the earth were everywhere. The sight which would have unnerved many barely seemed to faze the group as they charged head first straight into the chaos.
Yue Fei’s pressure gun the name of their weapon that one of the guys named Ying Zheng came up with during what little free time they had to keep their morale up as they worked. What originally was the now the outer shell however was not the NuMax SFR2190 original chassis but was now replaced with an ASG Hera Arms Licensed CQR M4 Airsoft AEG chassis casing. Following after his lead the other raised their weapon took aim and squeezed the trigger. Sharp hiss echoed off the space along with the screams of agony and death the others had a CSI S.T.A.R. XR-5 FG-1508 Advanced Battle Rifle Airsoft (Color: Trooper White) casing instead, their weapons fired the same B&C Eagle A3X131/22 Round Head 3-Inch x .131 x 22 Degree Bright Smooth Shank Plastic Collated Framing Nails which was refashioned into tiny arrow spikes.
The tiny spikes shot out and punched straight through the chest of the white humanoid creatures as it gave a loud shirk before it fell backwards onto the floor its body convulsing and twitching rapidly before it ceased all movement. Not paying any attention to the dead around them that littered the ground before them the group advanced onwards with Yue Fei at the lead, lucky the white humanoid can fall easily with a shot to their chest or head but the heavy armored shelled beetles took more shots to even crack their shells so they resorted to shooting their eyes instead. Once they exhausted their first clips of “Rounds” they pulled back to reload, thus Fei came forward Zhongqing and Zheng Qing (the Twins) armed with their flamethrowers. Fei with his X15 Flamethrower with the repurposed with the Boring Company Flamethrower, the twins armed with one XM42 Modular Flamethrower and the other hand held their own pressure gun. Spraying a sea of fire in front of the group once those creatures that broke through the wall of fire meet the blades of Yue Yang and Kim-sing.
Yue Yang held his massive chainsword in a two hand grip stance as he gunned it the motor roared into life as the teeth spun viciously sparks happened here and there along the “blade” casing due to its enhanced motor system causing the teeth to spin much faster than it should be. He cleaved through the white creatures and beetle’s hide in halves; his chainsword made quick work of them, the armored shells spilt and crack under the pressure of the buzzing sawing teeth of his chainsword. Kim-sing was by his side armed with his Dandao along with Yang Yuhuan swing her High-Frequency Blade the weapon buzzed, sparked and vibrate intensely the blade’s edge glowing ember-hot swinging their blades at hand covering each other backs.
“Han Xin get back you’re too far out!” sudden Kim-sing drew one of his many throwing knives and threw it at the direction of the boy named Han Xin was standing at swinging a sledgehammer. The knife flew with deadly precision burying itself head in the white skull of the creature attempting to sneak up on the boys blind spot. Han Xin sprung around swiftly at only to meet with the knife buried creature before swinging his hammer caving it face in. Another one had rushed up to him but was struck but a arrow through its head.
Shen Yi nocking another arrow as he aimed his with Oneida Eagle Phoenix Lever-Action Bow before releasing the arrow as it embedded itself into the skull of another of the white humanoid creatures. Han Zhou was right by his side looking down the scope of a TenPoint Nitro X ACU draw PRO Crossbow before squeezing the trigger as the bolt pierced through the chest sending it backwards.
“Thanks guys.” Han Xin simply replied as he moved back towards the group by this time the others have finished reload and were now releasing a hail of steel rain upon the enemy, those from afar was cut down before they even reached them while those who got past the hail if steel rain was meet with the cold steel of their blades none have escaped from their wrath.
“Hey heads up another hard shell incoming!” someone shouted many turned their heads seeing the incoming massive hind of a beetle its pristine hind covered in wounds. Bulldozing through the massive hordes of the white humanoids in-between it and the humans, its armored shell was filled with starches and chips along the edge of its smooth surface several of the white humanoid creatures was clinging onto it.
Yue Yang included after he dispatched another white humanoid with a quick swipe cleaving it in half his chainsword spitting guts and blood everywhere, before he turned his head around seeing the massive creature heading towards them he responded by drawing his only side arm a S-Thunder Universal Airsoft 40mm Grenade Launcher Pistol the Double Barrel Version. However before he could pull back on the trigger a flash of silver shot past him, it was a wave of blades cutting through the air and towards the oncoming threat; they lanced forward with deadly accuracy from the only likely person among them who could throw them with extreme accuracy. The blades had hit their mark digging into the carapace shell armor of the massive insect one landed upon it eyeball which burst in a stream of gore, yet still the beast came then the man himself sprang forward into action swinging his blade in an attempted to behead the beetle. However due to the wound he caused to it, it was swinging its head around in a frenzy of pain its horn on top its head smacked against Kim-sing sending him backwards landing upon his back with a loud ‘thunk’ with his blade in hand not far from Yue Yang’s Position.
It was at this moment Yue Yang pulled back on the trigger and after a quick pop sound two Matrix Eagle Force High Power Multi-Purpose CNC 40mm Airsoft Grenade Shells flew. It flew out from the barrel and the shells crashed into the beetle’s face crushing it, caving it in its body still rushing forward a few more steps before it crashed and tumbled causing the momentum of the crash to kick up a ditch into the dirt around it burying itself deep into the earth.
Seeing that chance many of the white humanoid creatures rushed at the corpse and began to feast tearing at the hard shell, ripping the legs off they were even fighting each other over it. This didn’t provide any sense of relief to the humans even if their some opponents were distracted for a time. Key word ‘SOME’ of their opponents there were still tens of more littering across the field in front of the humans.
Taking this opportunity Yue Yang rushed over to Kim-sing to help him up before he could be overwhelmed by the white creatures. Swiping at the creatures gathering on Kim-sing with his chainsword its teeth tearing away at the creature’s hide with each swipe that connected, once he cleared them away from Kim-Sing he pulled him up with Han Xin by his side swiping at any who came up to them with his sledgehammer sending them flying into the air.
“What were you thinking just freaking shoot at them from range dimwit from rush at them here take my gun.” Yue Yang said swiping aside another creature that got too close as he retrieved his S-Thunder Universal Airsoft 40mm Grenade Launcher Pistol, holding it up handing it to Kim-Sing only for him not to take it.
Kim-sing looked away before answering in a low tone “I don’t do with well in range.”
“What?” Yue Yang bewildered for a slight moment as if confused about what he just heard he almost thought he was hearing things.
“I don’t do range…….I suck at range.” Kim-sing said again still looking away not daring to meet Yue Yang’s eyes as if knowing the look on Yue Yang’s face should he turned around as he focused on the fight.
“You’re joking right tell me that is just some stupid joke?” he also fell down on his ass hearing such a answer he has seen him throw those blades of his with such accuracy that would have matched any firearm expert and yet here Kim-Sing was telling him in the face that he can’t fight in range! He almost wanted to scream at him but the sight of another creature coming up towards him took his attention as his chainsword greeted it; he turned back to the fight at hand forgetting all about what just happened as they fought for life and limb.
…..
It has been over a hour or so now and yet there was still some many of the enemy before their already weary bodies were starting to catch up to them, the fighting spirit that pushed them forward in the beginning was gone their bodies began to fail them as they struggled to keep up with their foe.
“Reload~!” Mi Liu cried out as he backs off slightly as well the rest who also ran empty behind the front lines to refill their pressure guns. The twins along with Fei rushed forward with their flamethrowers hiding them behind a wall of flames once again, they keep at it like the usual until.
“Ugh guys we have a slight problem.” Fei said the flames still burning in front of them.
“What kind of problem?” Yue Yang asked as he dispatched another creature that braved through the wall of fire, still screaming its last breath as it fell limp.
The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
“We’re running out of gas.” And just as he said those words the flames die out from his flamethrower not just from his the twins flamethrower also ceased to breathe any more flames.
“Here they come.” Zhongqing and Zheng Qing said in unison quickly drawing their side weapons as a swarm of creatures rushed through the flames, the others also braced themselves at the incoming tide of teeth and claws rushing at them.
But then a flash of a speeding object pasted them then a loud crashing sound of something hard crashing against a mass of flesh echoed in the air. The next thing that appeared in the group’s sight was the front line of the wave of creatures rushing toward them flying up a few meters up into the air. Not all were intact as multiple dismembered limbs and right at the epicenter, Yue Fei was moving too swiftly on his feet, from side to side it seemed like he was spinning in a blurring figure of eight. He crashed into the horde head first without slowing, leaping among them, barging down ranks if they could even be called that. He rushed them and pushed them back, or cut diagonally through their ranks, the pattern of his movements took him closer yet just far away from the inner depths from being surrounded.
His sword flew nonstop cutting them down. Flesh atomically severed by the blade’s disruption edge. Viscera spilled onto the earth. Crimson and green blood showered him dying his armor in their gore.
Wielding his blade in one hand and his pressure gun in the other, injecting every stroke along with each shot fired with fearful poise. He lashed out, smacking his pressure gun against a burning creature before dropping it leaving it hanging by its cable, catching a screaming white humanoid by the throat, severing its head from its thin neck, then swung around and thrust the blade-tip into the entrails of another coming up behind him. With his blade still in its guts he swung around with the creature stuck on his sword as he threw it back towards its own kind, knocking the creatures over.
He fought just as unpredictably as his foe, throwing off the offensive of his foes. He was a storm’s fury poured into the shape of young boy, as restless as the wind Yue Fei didn’t stop as he continued onward past the flames and deeper into the fray as his sword weaved around him severing head and limbs from bodies. In response Yang Yuhuan, Yue Yang, Kim-sing, along with the others rushed forward as the others reloaded fought their way to keep up with him as him laying waste to their foes.
“Forward~!” Yue Fei cried out turning to face the exploration team before twirling around on his feet kicking up his pressure gun back into his hand while severing the head of a beetle that was charging up behind him. Its body fell limp to the ground the other moved aside to avoid it, he ignored it and continued to push deeper, laying precise shots with each pull of the trigger of his pressure gun.
With blade in one hand and gun in the other he pushed onward.
“Forward!” he roared again as he plowed his way into the horde towards a certain direction leading the other behind him into the fray. Though in other situations or being in the right minds they would have all questioned such a reckless action which in any sane person’s mind would be suicidal, but they didn’t. Yue Fei at this moment was like a being of caged lightning contained within the shape of man not was unleashed and laying havoc against their foes. his crazy theatrics gave rise to emotion building up within them as it sweep over them like a restless wind that filled his comrades who saw him with the need to rush forward, to charge through the enemy, to ride them down and never stop moving , never stop fighting and greet death with a defiant smile should they fall.
Inspiring dread and awe in all of the humans present in equal measure at his performance, as he fought like a god of old myth as he hacked and slashed with his lighting casted sword whose heated edge sparked with the kiss of lighting with each strike.
Adrenaline was pumping in their veins once again like a drug, their hearts was pumping, and the thrill of the fight has taken them and seeing Yue Fei lead them onward with his back towards him as he moved onward always looking ahead craving a path for them to take. And take it they shall caught up in their newfound bloodlust the rest of the exploration team charged forth after him, they didn’t care about the overwhelming hordes of foes before them they just need to chase after his back. Seeing that back filled them with a new resolve as long as they followed his back never letting it out of their sights they knew where they needed to go, and so with a roar they followed Yue Fei deep into the two opposing hordes with renewed strength and determination in their tired bodies as they felled all those that stood before them.
…….
At the same time somewhere out in the world another group that only consisted of three souls, they too were locked in furious combat though the battle was more one sided as they were not actively fighting, but fighting in a retreating fight trying to distance themselves from their aggressors. Defend and flight, defend and flight that was the rhythm that they followed that was all that they could afford to do as their attackers were shroud in the shadows around them. Yet still they fought cling onto the chance of life as they continued on with their rhythm Defend and flight, defend and flight.
…….
Stab and thrust, cut and slice, hack and pull, punch and kick, duck and parry Yue Fei has repeated these movements again and again longer than he can recount in the past…..how many minutes, hours have passed? He wasn’t sure anymore he has long lost track of the time as time ceased to exist for him. There was nothing but the beat of his heart and the lactic burn of his muscles, sweat burned like trails of fire down his skin underneath his heavy armor. He was getting tired he knew it but he couldn’t stop no he wouldn’t stop not when all he can see before him were the claws and horrorid faces of the beasts flashing around towards his face, before he ended them. So he killed them, he killed and killed and killed by instinct and rote, too weary now for bloodlust or the joy of battle.
They have been fighting now for well they felt like it has been well over several hours now with the sun starting to set over the horizon and there seemed to be no end in sight of the foe before them they were relentless still coming at them still the floor being covered in the chopped up remains of their dead, yet still they came like a ocean tide none ceasing.
Yue Fei stood before the tide at its thickest he was separated from the others waist deep into the horde before him as the bodies piled up to form a tiny hill underneath him yet still, with his sword gripped tightly in both hands or one hand alternating between both as it continued its whirling dance around him. His pressure gun was lost during the last few hours of fighting ripped off of his connecting cable line to his power pack, not that it matter as he was spend of any darts left to shoot. His gun before it was lost powered down and empty, was originally dangling from the thick cabling which he warped around his arm binding it to his wrist. Cut off from the others where the fighting was thickest, he wielded it like a flail, lashing it with whip-like force into bestial faces to shatter bone, amongst that carnage the connecting must have snapped and it was lost during the fight. His eyes darted around the area trying to locate his comrades thankfully because of the little hill he was on he got a pretty destine view even as he continued his bladework.
The first thing to enter his sight was the many different groups of the exploration team that they were split up into, fighting around him in different parts of the field but each one was fighting to his position with the closest fighting their way to him being Yue Yang’s group. His helm was gone his face drenched in blood that was not even his own. His armor was cracked in various areas with starch marks and dents littering much of the Cobalt Steel armor plating.
No longer swinging his great weapon with the grace of a blademaster honed in his art but now was swinging the weapon around him like it was a flail instead of a blade because of its double opening so both sides along the “blade” the teeth were exposed thus it was relatively easy for him to do so, though the teeth-tracks were already blunted and choked with gore due to extensive fighting. It stuck and ceased moving at times but with continuance smacking with the weapon the gore clinging onto the blunt teeth of the chainsword fell off and with his finger also continuance squeezing the trigger gunning it, its teeth spun around again as the weapon roared back into life before it died again, and the cycle repeats itself.
He however wasn’t the only one as everyone around him was fighting just as unsightly as he was their armor suits stained with the blood and gore of their foes, as they too were neck deep fighting for their life within the swarm distance from one another in groups cut off slightly from each other. Yue Fei could tell each one apart thankfully due to the different weapons they were using and the slight decal on the left shoulder pauldron that they added to their armor to help identify each other.
At Yue Yang’s side, the two swordsmen moved and spun in lethal unison, Kim-sing with his Dandao and Yang Yuhuan with Yue Fei’s Song Dao their blade slick to the handle with blood. Yet still they held firm wielding their blades two handed their bladework complementing one another’s perfectly, cutting and impaling with the same techniques, the same footwork, and at times, even in the very same moments. While at the same time Yue Yang lashed out at his opponents with vicious kicks, punches and headbutts, using every part of his anatomy as a weapon. Forming a bloody whirlwind formed around him with each swing and twirl that he makes as the three danced in the rainstorm of blood and gore, as they continued to fight towards his direction.
Not too far away from them there was Shen Yi as his laid about left and right with two Shih Wei Fu | Shi Wei Fu also known as the Imperial Guard Axe his arrows long spent his bow strapped on his back as he swiped and hacked with his axes. The Axes, with its signature flat blade, was the same Axe used by the Imperial Guard of the Ch'ing Dynasty, it was used by Elite Guards, and Axe Gangs and is still the primary Axe trained at several schools. The Guard Axe is 20 inches long, the same length as a Viking Axe, and other Axes made for ancient combat. Han Zhou was at his side with two Huti Shuang Tao | HudieShuangDao these Short Swords, also known as Butterfly Swords, are a pair of light swords carried in a single scabbard. Unlike most modern practice Butterfly Swords, true combat Butterfly Swords have an effective thrusting point. The blades of these swords are about the length of the forearm allowing for fast techniques and greater maneuverability when fighting in close quarters combat. He wielded the twin swords with deadly grace as the whirled around in a dance, an arcane hurricane dance of death.
At another group there stood Han Xin still standing at swinging his sledgehammer around like a crazed berserker roaring in defiance through his helm against the onslaught. Fei along with the Twins Zhongqing and Zheng Qing were at beside him striking down any creature that entered their little web of intertwining blades. At one point Fei tore off his helmet his face backed in sweat as he threw his helm forward at a nearby Whitey caving in its face as it flipped and twirled in the air.
But then there was one sight that chilled Yue Fei down to his bones no his soul and he screamed with every fiber in his being in horror and desperation as he jumped high into the air towards the spot where he was looking.
“Mengya~!” Yue Fei cried out as his body flew in the air.
Mengya was not too far away from his position he was alone however being swarmed by dozens of the white humanoids around him. They pulled at him bending his back backwards as they dragged him down his body soon buried under a pile of white bodies and Yue Fei plowed right through it as he fell down to the earth body slamming into it. Though he couldn’t see anything other than white for the moment, he didn’t need to so he rapidly swung around him frantically his blade connecting with flesh, as frantic cries rang in his ear around him till the whiteness around him dispersed and he found Mengya lying on his back on the ground.
His helmet was gone a deep looking gash presented itself on his left cheek blood flowing out down his cheek, his armor was a wreck cracked and scratched everywhere leaving no corner unmarked, his left hand clutched to his side a dark fluid spilled out in between his finger slits. Yue Fei instantly knew what it was as the smell of thick hot coppery iron filled his nose through his helm. He drove his body hardy than ever before as much as he could muster, no matter how much it hurt his body, he bellowed in anger a level of controlled fury that passed into the sublime. His sword flew, whirling faster than the plains-wind across an open grass field as he swung like a mad man cleaving away at the beasts around him in a storm of disruption lightning, their innards poured out and laid out open on the floor. He fought hard, fighting to keep the creatures away from the down brother now lying in a mini pool of his own blood.
“Wei Li Jing~!” he cried out his voice echoing in the air yet never ceasing in his movements he even removed his helm at this point using it to club at the hated white creatures before him.
“Wei Li Jing~!”
Soon other voices carried his cry calling out the same name as soon that word overtook every other sound amidst the screams and cries of beasts around them. Then they came at the corner of his eyes he saw them Mi Liu, Lee Shin, Nip Fung, Qin Xa, Mou-ming and finally the one he had been calling for leaping high into the air before smashing down like meteorites falling from the sky around him forming a perimeter. Yue Yang, Kim-sing, Yang Yuhuan and everyone else arrived as well falling down from the heavens like heavenly deities as they slaughtered the remaining creatures around him.
All the while Wei Li Jing was crouched down next to Mengya opening a red med-kit pack that he had on him and was administering first aid to Mengya, trying to patch up the wound to stop the bleeding. Even as the blood was seeping through the warping he didn’t stop instead thought up new ways to slow the bleeding, he removed his helm for better vision wiping away the sweat at his brow as he focused on his task even as the fighting intensive around him, trusting in his comrades to allow him to perform his task.
‘Fight on!’ Yue Fei roared urging those around him, now he was leaping around the protective circle never staying in one spot aiding those in need due to their failing bodies. Adding his blade to where ever it was needed as a he danced around in frenzy, lashing out with vicious kicks, and punches wielding every part of his anatomy as a weapon now.
‘Fight on!’
The world around him soon turned red; red was all that Yue Fei could see red…..crimson red.
