Chapter 550 Last Chance

Miley usually woke up early, but yesterday, she tossed and turned and was unable to fall asleep. It was only in the early morning that she managed to fall asleep. But it was not a sound sleep. “Not yet. What’s the matter?” Miley propped herself up and leaned against the bed. She answered softly with her eyes narrowed.

“It’s nothing. I just wanted to ask if the DNA report has come out.” The report would be handed to Miley Bridger did not want to ask Litzy, so he turned to Miley.

At the mention of this, Miley’s eyes suddenly opened, and she was much soberer. She looked ahead and landed her gaze on the table diagonally across from her. There was a document quietly lying on it.

“Yes, what’s wrong?” Miley asked instead of answering him directly.

“Is it out? What is the result? Is Simon related to us or not?” Bridger hurriedly asked, hoping that the result would back up what he thought.

For a moment, the expression on Miley’s face became particularly complicated. She vaguely snorted a sound from her nose, not admitting or denying it.

“Mom, what’s wrong? Are you still sleepy? What did it say? Is Simon a member of the Palmer

family?”

Miley coughed and said faintly, “Here is the thing. Litzy sent the report to me very late last night. I already fell asleep and haven’t seen it yet. I’ll tell you when I get up and take a look.”

“It doesn’t matter!” Knowing that Miley hadn’t read the report, Bridger suddenly said, “Mom, I want

you to do me another favor.”

“What is it?” Miley frowned, “Do you want me to go to Simon and lure them out again? I already told you that I won’t do it! I will only help you that one time. Don’t even think about it!”

After a pause, Miley thought of something and asked, “This isn’t right. Didn’t you say last time that we succeeded? What now? Did Paisley go back on her word?”

It didn’t feel right. If things went well, Bridger should be able to get the shares of the Drew Group. What was he going to do now?

“No, how could she go back on her word? She wants that scripture so much!” Bridger did not dare to say that he had been tricked. He was afraid that his mother would lose trust in him. Now that he could get nothing from Paisley, he had to try some luck with Simon.

Even if he couldn’t get the shares of the Drew Group, he wouldn’t be afraid of Paisley after he owned the Palmer family.

“Isn’t that enough? What else do you want?” Sighing, Miley sat up straight and rubbed her temples.

“Mom, you know that what I really crave is the Palmer family and the Palmer Group, not the Drew Group or anything else. It is supposed to be mine. If my elder brothers were still here, I wouldn’t say

Listening to his complaints, Miley was also uncomfortable. She had given him too much love because she was unable to experience the pain of losing a child again. She had invested all her time and energy in him.

“Forget about the report. No matter if you have read it, just remember that Simon is not a member

of the Palmer family. He is not!”

Taking a deep breath, Miley softly said, “Bridger, have you ever thought that if the report says that Simon is the descendant of the Palmer family, isn’t this too cruel to him? He is our family. How can you banish him from the family?”

Fighting for money and power within the family was one thing. Miley had never thought of expelling Simon from the family.

Moreover, Simon was really a member of the Palmer family. Doing this would be letting her husband down.

“Mom! Have you read the report?” after pondering for a moment, Bridger asked.

If Miley had seen the report, she would not ask such a question. Obviously, she just could not bear to do so.

Sure enough, Bridger was right to call. If he didn’t talk to Miley first and persuade her, it was hard to make other elders in the family believe him. Waiting for the report meant nothing to him. This was
