Interlude 1: An Old Friend

Interlude 1: An Old Friend

Arriving back to his secret base after extracting as many quirks as he could during the Underground Masquerade, All For One calmly stood while looking at Hooded Man, who was rampaging around.

"Why did you take me back here?! I can still fight!"

Hooded Man screamed and complained as he brought down his enlarged arms to the ground, creating crater after crater and smashing the goons who were trying to calm him down.

Because of All Might's interference, All For One missed his chance in obtaining a powerful quirk he intended to give to Number 6, which frustrated him. All For One's patience grew thinner upon seeing Hood's rampage after being saved from a losing battle during the masquerade.

All For One rushed towards Hood as he enhanced one of his hands, leaned forward to dodge one of Hood's violent arms before grabbing his face and slamming him on the ground.

"Your strength, speed, and regeneration have immensely weakened just a few minutes in the battle, and you dare complain after being saved from the humiliation of losing?"

After knocking out Hood, All For One slowly rose from the ground and dusted himself off.

"Transport him back to Doctor Garaki for further modifications."

A man covered with purple mist wearing a butler uniform and a metallic brace around his neck- named Kurogiri - was standing at the side with his hands behind his back. He slightly bowed after hearing his master's command before waving his hand. A purple warp gate emerged near the hooded man, and a large woman with an exposed brain and scarred body grabbed Hood by the leg and dragged him inside the warp gate.

With All Might ruining the Underground Masquerade, All For One heads to his office with a creased brow while reflecting on what went wrong. He sat on his executive chair, rested his back comfortably, and threw a question to Kurogiri - who was following behind him.

"How's Tenko?"

"Unfortunately, he's still afraid of his ability and continues to lock himself in his room."

"Continue to look after him. I'll talk to him soon."

"Yes, Sir."

After a few minutes of silence, Kurogiri interrupted All For One's pondering with a question.

"Sir, if you're still bothered about O'Clock's quirk, I may have a solution for it."

"What is it?"

Kurogiri then handed All For One a tablet. It showed an article about a press conference of one of the most influential families in South Korea regarding the death of their matriarch.

"It's about Bam Yongseo's death, the late matriarch of the Bam family. It caused an uproar not only South Korea but Japan and China as well. Considering their fame, the Bam family should have a lot of excellent quirks for your to take."

All For One read the article attached while listening to Kurogiri. After reading, he went back to the top of the page and clicked on the video.

The video featured a man behind a podium wearing a black suit and kept greyish-blonde hair. Sitting behind him were a younger man and woman with similar features wearing the same black clothes and grim expressions.

[Good day, everyone. I know that there have been a lot of rumors going around regarding my family, especially with the recent attacks happening with prominent families in South Korea.

Stolen novel; please report.

I held this press conference to talk about my wife, Yongseo. As you may have heard in the news, a group of people wearing the church's emblem raided my house last week.

Similar to the Choi and Park families, we lost a lot of members while a significant number suffered grievous injuries, including my son and daughter. Fortunately, by god's grace, they, along with most of our wounded, were able to survive thanks to their quirks and our talented doctors.

But unfortunately, after two days of fighting against the severe injuries my wife sustained during the attack in my residence, Yongseo didn't make it. . .

Yongseo, she. . . she was a lot of things. A loving wife, a caring mother, a talented actress, and so much more. She always thought about everyone else before herself. Despite her hectic schedule, she always took the time to care for our children when they were growing up. I remember her always sending me a message saying that I should eat my meals on time and wish me luck whenever I'm busy with work. Yongseo would cook for us whenever the four of us were at home.

She was always there for us, even if we weren't always by her side.

She may not be a hero, but I've lost count on how many times she's saved me. Yongseo was a good person.

But she was taken away from me, from my family, from us.

I won't deny that my family had relations with the Blood Tyrant, and I fully understand if some of you have some hatred towards us because of it. I won't hold any of you accountable for it since we also have deep grudges against that man. But our ancestors had severed all ties with him and all related parties long before I became my clan's patriarch.

We have given our all to contribute to the development of our country. We have created countless companies and provided millions of jobs to our fellow Koreans. We have had a hand in our economy and supported numerous heroes with our technology.

So I ask, why? After all this time. After all we've done. Why did the church attack my family and other prominent families? --]

"According to our research, Bam Gibyeong has a transformation quirk that allows him to change h his body parts to different machines while the Bam siblings behind him have similar quirks. They should be a fine addition to your collection, Sir."

Kurogiri interrupted upon noticing that All For One has been losing interest in the video.

"The Bam family is a lot more powerful than you think."

All For One explains as he continues watching Bam Gibyeong talk about the 'transgressions' the South Korean Church has committed.

"Behind that family's patriotic facade are zealots who would do anything for their Lord. They instigated the great divide after the Braeden Massacre from the shadows and created two branches, one for the North and the other for the South. Because of this, they control the North while they're one of the pillars of the South. They brainwash their children from a young age and instill absolute loyalty for their cause. Those who deviate from their doctrine and traditions are swiftly eliminated or sent to the North for further brainwashing. It's ingenious, actually. Alarick has raised such loyal dogs that would serve him even after his death. Do you think we can bear the aftermath if we start a war with them?"

Despite not having distinct facial features, Kurogiri's yellowish-green flares as eyes widened upon hearing his master's question. He immediately bowed and expressed his apologies.

"But the question is, just like what Gibyeong said, why did the Church attack now? Knowing them, they would've retaliated already and obliterated the church by now. Not to mention the church wouldn't do anything this drastic without justifiable cause. Unless-"

All For One rambled on as he paused the video, focusing on the image where a man, who was wearing a white and gold tunic, was stabbing a floating woman with his short sword.

After a few minutes of silence, All For One's lips slowly curved upwards, painting an amused smirk that slowly turned into a low chuckle.

"Alarick, you lucky son of a bitch. Even after death, you never fail to surprise me."

Kurogiri was quite surprised and confused upon seeing his master's reaction. He couldn't understand what was funny about the article but knew better than to voice his concerns regarding this matter. He didn't have enough information to contribute to his master's line of thought.

All For One then returned the tablet to his purple butler with the same smirk which the latter respectfully received with both hands.

"Prepare plans to visit South Korea and arrange a meeting with Bam Gibyeong. It's about time I met with an old friend's family."

All For One placed his chin on his hand and smirked. He reminisced the time he spent in Korea before the great divide and getting acquainted with the Bloody Tyrant - Braeden Alarick.

"Yes, Sir."
