I kept my stealth active, but I didn’t know how much longer it would stay. I wasn’t feeling physically tired, but more of a mental strain the longer I kept the skill on.
I snuck past the ghoul and up to the 2 remaining zombies, then I led them away into a second alleyway. Luckily, my stealth had just run out after baiting them. I used the same strategy against both zombies and the battle ended in much the same way.
[2 Zombies Eliminated]
[Experience Gained]
“I didn’t level up, huh…”
The higher my level the tougher it would be to raise it. I didn’t think I would have a problem currently, my next target was higher levelled, that should gain me some very good experience.
“GAAAAAAARAHGHRGRHGRHRRRRHGHG!”
CRAP!
The ghoul noticed me while my stealth was off. My brain was trying to think of solutions at a rapid pace. This wasn’t going according to plan at all!
The ghoul reached my spot before I could finish thinking — I tried my best to keep a steady mind, it wasn’t working. The ghoul charged at me, but I dodged too early and allowed its long claws to reach my leg!

“AHHHHHHHHHHH”
It hurts…

SURVIVE.
“AHHHHHHHHHH!”
My mind was foggy from the pain and blood loss. The ghoul charged at me again, this time I got the timing right. Any mistake, and I would really die, I finally noticed my problem. I was too conceited, I really did believe that I was special — a chosen one — but no.
A single slip-up would’ve been the end, I wouldn’t die this way, NEVER.
[Hidden Skill Revealed: Status Resistance Lv1]
All of a sudden I felt that my mind was clear, I ignored the pain.
It’s my turn now!
I charged at the ghoul with my bat, my aim wasn’t at its head yet, but the legs. This ghoul may not be alive, but losing the legs would make anyone unable to fight. I got the strike to take out both the ghoul’s legs and it fell down. I aimed the next strike at its head.
BOOM!
It was over, finally.
[Ghoul Defeated.]
[Experience Gained.]
[LEVEL UP!]
[LEVEL UP!]
Twice?!? I didn't expect that, my experience bar must’ve been near the edge and the ghoul was more than enough to fill it, especially with its high level. I checked for any more enemies before opening my status. Luckily, there weren’t any more, that ghoul was the last one.
“Open Status.”
