Chapter 17: Reunited

Half an Hour Earlier

[Initiating Exit]

The surroundings shifted around me from the bright sun of the desert was instead replaced by a raging fire. Hadn’t it been for the screams of people ever, I would’ve thought I’d moved to the 3rd floor of the dungeon. I moved out from the alleyway only to be faced with a horrifying reality…..monsters were now attacking my town.

I kept walking in a daze until a scream coming from nearby woke me from my stupor. A man was on his back trying to shuffle away from a small green creature walking slowly towards it. I couldn’t see the creature's face because I stood behind it, yet it gave off a sinister aura that sent a shiver down my spine. Not from how powerful the aura was, rather from how disgusting it felt.

I activated stealth and snuck behind the enemy while also using analysis to get an idea of what I was dealing with:

[Analysis Activated]

{Goblin Soldier Lv 10:

Strength: 13

Stamina: 10

Agility: 12

Endurance: 11

The lowest on the monster hierarchy, goblins band together to form tribes to survive. Goblin soldiers are in charge of protecting the village and hunting for food. They will inseminate women they find with their children because it is their instinct to find strength in numbers.}

The goblin had a club with him and decided to finally end that man’s suffering…..had I not been here that is.

I dashed and blocked the club while willing the geo particles underneath to move and form a pit. The goblin’s beady eyes looked confused at first, before he roared in discontent at the situation. I didn’t want to subjugate my ears to any more torture so I decided to end it here.

However, this message made me realize that I’d just displayed my power to a stranger, but instead of fear their eyes were filled with gratitude. The man quickly bowed and made an escape straight ahead.

The one thing I lacked right now was information so I decided it was time to test my new and improved navigation skill. I sent all the Aer particles to the surroundings, just enough to cover the entire town. What I sensed when the particles travelled back to me caused a sense of shock to travel through my being.

Where my house was, there was now rubble….and monsters. I couldn’t sense my mom anywhere so I decided to sprint at my top speed towards them and arrived in about 10 minutes. All this time I’d kept navigation active while also sending out Pyro particles to detect heat signatures and thankfully I found my mom’s. However, there were 7 other presences with only 2 being those of humans. As I arrived, I spotted a goblin slightly larger than the rest raise its club higher than its head. Before it could bring the club down, I dashed in there and held it in my hand.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

I could feel my mom’s happiness radiating, but I needed to keep my back turned to her. What she couldn’t see was the unfiltered rage directed straight at the goblins. They couldn’t even move, as it felt like the air was turning heavier.

In fact, it was.

I moved all the Aer particles into a sphere around the 5 monsters, creating a vacuum. The creatures started writhing in pain….but I wasn’t done. The ground quivered as pieces of earth flew up and pressed down on their chests while I grabbed all the moisture from the air using fluid Aqua particles and pushed it into their 7 orifices.

Before their screams could affect this reunion I used a spell I’d learned called “Void Cloak” to hide the scene from my mom by absorbing all the light and sound instead of reflecting them back. After a quick activation by muttering the chant under my breath I turned to mom while making sure to hide my anger. Tears were falling down from her eyes….tears spilled for me….

However, the next moment her expression changed to one of shock then turned to face a wall on her left. There, I saw my father slumped against the wall unconscious. I also realized that Ella was there too….why were they here? More importantly, did these goblins do something to my father? I quickly scanned over him and noticed that both his legs were bent at weird angles.

rumble….

I couldn’t hide my anger, causing the dust in the air to swirl into miniature whirlwinds. I decided it was time to end this farce and snuffed the 5 weaklings’ pathetic existences out.

[Level Up]

I could feel my physical fatigue slowly fade as I made my way to my father. This was the perfect chance to test a theory of mine. I grabbed a healing potion from my inventory and poured it down his throat, but before that I needed to properly straighten both his legs. Thankfully he was unconscious and only winced in pain without any screams. The unbelievable happened….his legs began to mend!

Mom and Ella’s eyes widened in surprise as they watched him heal, they then looked at me with vastly different expressions. Mom’s was filled with excitement and happiness, while Ella’s was quite confused.

“I will explain everything later…..at least what I can”

That managed to calm them down slightly as we decided to move my father onto a bed so that he could rest and recuperate from his injuries. I moved upstairs with the both of them and decided it was time to make some slight fixes to the house. There was a gaping hole in the front of the house so I decided to raise the earth to block it off. We then sat on some broken down chairs as I tried to explain what happened without revealing the system’s existence.

I went with the excuse that, on my way to school I was sucked into an “alternate space” that seemed to make time go faster outside of it. They seemed to have believed me because the next moment they grabbed me into a large bear hug, granted I had to let go of any resistance so that I wouldn’t hurt them.

Now it was their turn to tell me what had happened….and sadly it was within my expectations…

We were experiencing the end of the world

But from what the Admin was hinting at….

This….was merely the beginning.
