Intermission: A prelude to darkness

Intermission: A prelude to darkness

*sounds of footsteps*

In a rather wide dark hallway lighted only with a series of candles placed in the pillars, a group of people consisting of 7 individuals is chatting along the way in a serious manner.

They stop in front of a very large door decorated in intricate designs twice as large as them. As they opened it with a creaking sound, inside of the room had a red carpet laid down and it extended up to the end of the room where a silhouette of a man was sitting in a throne in a more elevated place. The face isn’t recognizable because of the dimness but what was noticeable is the quite large stature and glowing red eyes.

As the group of people approaches, they kneel in front of the man almost synchronized. The man didn’t say a word but waited for them to speak.

“My lord, the time for the blood moon might be still years away. But there is this worrying factor that might hinder us in the future”

After the man spoke respectfully to the man in front of him and stands up, the others also followed. Perhaps the man was the leader as they followed suit.

Hmmm..

The man who is called lord by the group of people in front of him only closed his eyes thinking deeply.

Another person also spoke. The voice came from a man that had a deep low tone.

“Just the other day, a huge fluctuation light of magic just appeared out of nowhere around the area near the city of Saint Eli.”

“I’ve read the records of the war archives. There was a mention of something like that but wasn’t high lighten, perhaps the historian probably thought it wasn’t a big deal.”

Another person belonging to the group also spoke. Unlike the other one, his voice was rather cool. All their faces aren’t visible but this one clearly had a glasses.

After a brief pause, he continued. “But I don’t think this time is merely a coincident. In my opinion, that phenomenon played the big role in the war that resulted a stalemate. There was a third party involve that we aren’t aware of. Or perhaps we do know them but the only evidence we have was that magic fluctuation. That doesn’t prove it was them.”

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

“I participated in that war thousand years ago, you know~ but I didn’t feel even the slightest holy magic~”

“Tch. How useless. Other than your immortal unaging body, there is nothing else to be proud of.”

“Fufu~ wanna go at it? You’ll know the reason why I live long~”

A bewitching voice of a woman taunted the man who spats out insults at her. Killing intent is clearly visible in both of their eyes.

“You are in the presence of his Highness. Know your place.”

“..”x2

But a cool voice stopped them from continuing further. It came from their leader.  His voice sounded cool and relaxed but to two of them, it was chilly. Both of them kept distance and bowed to the man in throne.

“Your highness, what is your decision?”

Having been silent for a while now, he finally opened his mouth and told them what he had decided.

“The blood moon is still some time away. We have plenty of time to prepare for any unexpected things that might happen. The slaughter can wait. For now, I have a mission for you Margery”

As the woman with a bewitching voice was called, she took one step forward and bowed curtly.

“Yes your highness?”

“I will have you do reconnaissance in Saint Eli City. Find out if there were irregularities happening in there.”

“As you wish, your highness”

“Mmm. Also Reginald, continue the research regarding the matters of magic fluctuation. The rest of you, get stronger more than you are now. When the time of the blood moon comes….”

The man in the throne lets out a smile that will send down chills to anyone who would witness it..

"Together with the red sky, the ground shall be painted with the blood of those who do not know their place."

He then thrust his jet black sword oozing with dark element swirling upon it.

The group of individuals saluted. Afterwards, they left the room one by one except for Margery.

She walked towards the big window near the pillars and talked as if someone was there. As the window was open, the light from the full moon illuminated her face. Her very beautiful feature was revealed. Her porcelain white skin lightens even more together with the blue light. Beautiful might not be enough to describe how out of this world her appearance was. She had a fiery red hair that extended up to her waist. The dress she wore had a long slit from her neck up to her belly button that revealed almost all of her bountiful chest out and exuded a very adult appearance. Roses were shame to bloom in the presence of her ruby lips.

As she gazed at the moon through the window, she called a woman’s name. Out of nowhere, another woman appeared in the shadows of the pillar. The woman just lowered her head waiting for Margery to say something.

“Nerissa, prepare my stuff. We have important things to do~”

“Yes Vampire Princess.”

“Fufu~ things had turn quite a fun turn~”

Margery smiles in delight then afterwards, she disappeared in the shadows together with the woman behind the pillar.
