Ch-1 Certain changes

Huff-huff

Run, keep running, can't stop. If I stop I know everything will end. Who doesn't want to live, live life till the end but we don’t have this luxury. It is the law of the universe that nothing remains as it is, eventually everything turns into dust .well we didn’t turn into dust it will be exaggerating to say that but it was still very bad. World destruction no that is still far away but it is getting closer.

While running I looked back to gauge the distance between me and my pursuers but I was unable to spot the obstacles thrown on the ground and I slipped up and struck my head on the hard ground. I hadn't expected to make such a mistake after so much physical activity in the last few months. Everything seems to slow down; I see the panicked faces of the others who are turning around. They must be thinking about how they can save me nah they are not that good they all are opportunists even I am. Everyone has to fight for their rights in the past and now too for their own safety. I feel as if I can see my past and see everything that happened.

I can still remember the day when I was going home from college that it happened I saw a text flashing before my eyes. I blinked my eyes and saw that it was still there so I closed my eyes and realized it was still there glowing in white amidst the never ending darkness.

The gods have heard the pleas of the humankind.

As soon as I read it the text changed now it read

As soon I read it I felt information regarding the changes happening in this world enter my mind.

I knew that everything will go down if this is really happening and is not my shitty imagination so I first called my mother to tell her to get to home as quickly as possible and also pick up my ill bro from school. I put my bike on in ignition and raced directly to the nearest supermarket I knew near my home. I can see allot of confused people who are joking about this matter some complaining while some calling authorities.

Fools all fools.

I went into supermarket went straight into groceries section and stating picking up non perishable food first then some equipment like water purifier, a solar charging panel, a large machete and went to medicine section to get a lot of different medicines I could think of I would be needing in the future. I took my card paid for the bill and cringed when I got the receipt and checked my remaining card balance which was only 10$. No time to worry about that. I packed everything in carry bags and put it behind me fastening it with a rope I bought earlier with some electrical wires and some other hardware. How the hell did you think I was supposed to bring everything on a bike?

I fastened my speed without thinking about traffic rules and proceeded to go towards my home. It was three storey building and we live in the upper two floors while the ground floor and first floor has been rented out to my best friend who is living with us as his home is very far away and his college is very near to my home.

as soon as I stop and park my bike inside garage I see my friend Johhny running towards me and I put my hands in front stopping him to say something while shouting" help me out first and then we will discuss everything upstairs" he complied by nodding his head.

We start climbing the stairs and Johnny starts complaining about how much hassle it is to climb up to 2nd and 3 rd floors. And I can’t help but grin at that. I open the door and am visited with my mother and brother sitting on the sofa. My mother calls out to me "mike what is happening and what all that stuff you brought over is?" she was still confused but I knew that I made good choice. Then I called Johnny over and then I started talking while taking a bite of an apple that I picked up from the table

"I think everyone saw the text and got the information regarding the changes that will be happening from today 12; 00" end everyone nods but my mother speaks up " it was all a prank nothing is happening although I saw a text but I got nothing about any changes" as soon I heard that I got confused when my brother asked "bro can we really live up to thousands of years?" and got more confused s I asked him about what he was talking about that. that he explained that he also saw the text got the info about the change and then some possible future results like increasing of one's lifespan, immeasurable strength like the Greek hero Hercules and many more exciting possibilities.. It was then it dawned on me that everyone was given same information but it depended on their capability that how much that it deciphered. After confirming with Johnny I realized that he also got the same info as me.

So I explained the same to everyone and replied to my bro that I didn't know if all those things were possible. After listening to my explanation johnny also perked up but my mother was still not convinced so I requested her to wait till tomorrow and if everything was still same then we would go about our normal lives.

It was night and I turned off my TV. The authorities have come forward and claimed that it was a prank and could be the work of some terrorist organization and have requested everyone to stay in their homes for tomorrow. I went to my brother's room and sat beside him and kept watching the clock waiting for 12; 00. And soon I dozed off. after some time I heard a piercing ringing sound in my ears as I was jolted awake and I saw a flashing white light coming from window so I turned to see through the window and I got goose bumps at what I was watching . The sky was lit as it was day and meteors were flashing down towards the earth

and I started seeing some text so I went to my brother who was also jolted awake and was still a little sleepy to speak aloud whatever he was seeing as I knew that I will be unable to comprehend more information than my brother. Tom started speaking

I was surprised and happy listening to this piece of news. Those fucking two faced politicians now have no power. Feels god knowing that.

After I heard till there my brother closed his eyes so I also started to go through the text and after I was flooded with more info about some more basic things and basic energy manipulating and cultivation book.

I went to get Johnny and my mother and started to explain everything.

My mother was flagerbasted when she saw the blinding white light outside and the text which were visible even after closing their eyes.

I knew that to survive we need to get strong. How would I know that?? Well I have read countless novels regarding history and it was same in all of them that you either need absolute strength or authority to survive and protect those you care about. So I told everyone to read the book and do whoever is written in there.

I also read the book and after some time I read again to confirm it and kept reading it again and again until I was sure that I could recite it by heart. Then I sat in a meditative position and started to drive away all my thoughts from my mind. It was very hard and took nearly 1 whole hour before I was able to meditate. I felt my heart at peace bad heard the sound of my heartbeat then my while body contracting and expanding like my beating heart then flowing of my blood into my body. It was all too magical and then I noticed that there was something else too flowing there. It was very hard to discern but I kept focussing on it. Not too hard but not too light it was enough that I could see it flowing there and concentrate on my meditation. It was very hard and I broke out of it many times but it got easier and easier as I tried it again and again.

In the morning after coming out of meditation I realised that there was this energy everywhere. I could only feel it in my body for now and that only during meditation but I believe that in future we all could sense this energy.

Looking through the windows I could see the empty streets and some people cautiously walking in the streets. Looks like they were still afraid of the things that happened earlier. It was then that I saw 3 people coming toward our building , just taking a look at them I recognised them as the gang that were harassing the locals living in this area.

As soon as I saw them I unconsciously clenched my fists. I ran towards the room where I put away all the stuff I bought yesterday and took out machete which was 42 cm long with a plastic handle. It was then that I heard the doorbell ringing that I ran towards the door and asked who it was in a high pitched voice.

“Who is it?”

Even though I knew who it was, it was necessary to do this to lower their awareness towards me and then I suddenly opened the door and swung the machete towards the person standing closest to the door. That thug no.1 couldn’t believe what was happening as this was the first time someone has attacked them in such a vicious and surprising manner and my swinging machete hit on his right shoulder and lodged itself in there. The thug screamed in pain and dropped the baseball bat that he was holding in his right hand.

I didn’t try to take out the machete that was lodged there as I knew it would be difficult to take it out so I increased my hold on the machete and kicked the thug who was screaming with my whole strength I could muster. The main door was directly in front of the narrow staircase so there was only 1 thug standing in front of the door and the other two behind him and when I kicked him the two behind him I also thrown backwards.

My machete sided with some difficulty from his shoulder covered in blood. My legs started shaking as it was first time as I had attacked someone but I knew it was necessary to protect my family. So I controlled my emotions and ran downstairs keeping my machete ready in an overhead position to attack again if it was necessary. As I came downstairs I saw Johnny hitting the thugs with the baseball bat and kicking with his leg in between the hits.

I said to Johnny” let them go and get some treatment. They have suffered enough. What do you think guys have you suffered enough?” shifting my gaze towards the thugs.

They began to nod their heads vigorously and started running out of our house and as soon as they were outside they started abusing and spout profanities. It was comical to see how seconds earlier they were crying and saying sorry.

As soon as I turned back I saw my mother ushering my brother inside the room and saw the furious look in her eyes after seeing the blooded machete in my hands.

Julie-“are you fucking out of your mind mike, attacking people with machete in broad daylight”

It was then Johnny came and started speaking “it’s not his fault m/s T, they came with baseball bat to harass and extort us. During the past month they have been roaming about in this area harassing other locals too. We did the right thing attacking them. If you give then an inch then they will ask for a foot next time.”

As soon as he spoke that I saw some text glittering in front of my eyes
