I think I’m in love, Jack thought as he stared at Miranda’s cleavage.
“And then it fucking bit my fingers off!” Lucas said.
“No way!!! Oh my god, really? But, there’s no wolves in Greentown?” the cabaret girl next to Miranda said.
Jack saw Miranda give her an annoyed look. The other cabaret girl got the message, and said: “You’re so cool! How did you even survive against it?”
“I just wrestled it on my own. Choked it out,” Lucas said.
“He did. I was there,” Brian said, while smiling at the cabaret girl sitting next to him.
After showering and selling all the silk for a lot of money and buying new clothes and supplies and sleeping bags and firestarters and bulletproof vests and a lot of bullets, Jack took them to a girl’s bar.
Finally some fucking girls. I haven’t talked to a girl since I ran away from home. God, this is amazing. I love this life. Fuck Miranda’s hot!
“Can I touch it?” the cabaret girl next to Lucas said.
“Yeah yeah, just be careful, a ha ha,” Lucas said, and showed her his bandaged fingers.
While Lucas was talking to his girl and Brian was talking to his girl, Miranda turned to face Jack, and whispered: “Hey, is he for real? How did he actually lose his fingers?”
“A wolf bit them off. True story, I was there,” Jack said.
“Holy shit… You guys are so cool,” Miranda said, and winked.
“You’re pretty,” Jack said.
“Oh, thank you!” Miranda said, and briefly put a hand on Jack’s knee.
The unexpected touch accidentally made his leg jerk up.
“Aww, you’re so cute,” Miranda said. She leaned up against him and put her small hands on his chest. “Can we drink some more? I’m so happy I met you. Maybe we should go on a date some time when you’re not busy with work,” she said.
“I would love that, Miranda,” Jack said. “Hey! Waiter! Another bottle of champagne!”
“Yayyyy!!!” All three cabaret girls said at the same time.
…
Blink.
They were sitting in the stone plaza with big hitchhiker bags on their backs, while wearing Greentown college’s football uniforms.
Lucas looked at the blue sky. Then looked around the stone plaza. He took in a breath of fresh air.
“Good to be back,” he said.
The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
All three of them got up and looked around. They saw that there were a few wooden booths selling stuff in the middle of the stone plaza.
“Let’s get the fuck out, too many people around,” Jack said.
They snuck over to their previous grinding spot in the butterfly zone. They decided to grind there because of how well the silk sold.
After showing Lucas how to time the butterfly attack, they started grinding using their previous support/attacker/scout formation. Though now they had Lucas behind in support at all times, and Brian and Jack rotated the attacker and scout position.
“This sucks,” Lucas said.
“Suck it up,” Brian said.
“Skill crystal!” Jack yelled out. He could now sense which monsters had skill crystals inside of them.
They killed the butterfly and cut it up and gave the crystal to Lucas.
“We decided to give you all crystals for a while until your skills match ours. And maybe you’ll get lucky and get something like healing,” Jack said.
“Thank you bro,” Lucas said. He crushed the skill crystal and yellow energy went into his hand.

“First arithmetic and now this shit! I’m gonna become a super dork before I get any fucking spells or shit!” Lucas said.
“Yo, speaking of spells. Brian, didn’t you get that dispel spell? You should be able to use it now,” Jack said.
“Oh yeah! I forgot about that,” Brian said.
He put his hand in front of himself facing away from Lucas and Jack.
“Flame Shield Dispel!” he said.
He felt some mana moving in his head, though his mana sense was too crude to exactly tell what was happening. It was too intricate.
In front of his outstretched hand, he saw something very complex automatically form. He felt mana going from his core to the outside of his outstretched hand. But physically, nothing was visible in the outside world.
“Yo, I saw that with my mana sense,” Lucas said. “In the end, some mana came out your hand?”
“Cool shit,” Jack said.
They kept grinding for a few more hours and then took a break.
“So, how do we get the skill point so we can finish healing Lucas? And how do we deal with Fernando? The fucking hispanics make me feel like a little bitch. Like I have to hide,” Jack said.
“Maybe tomorrow we try something new. Or instead of new monsters try like new shit. I’m not sure. But no way we can fucking attack Fernando. We don’t know shit and he has way more people than us. We’d die immediately,” Brian said.
“Don’t shoot! I’m here to exchange information!” a voice nearby said.
All three of them jumped up and pointed their guns at the man nearby.
They looked and saw that he had his hands up and that he was on his knees.
“Don’t shoot! I’m here to exchange information!” the man repeated.
Nobody said anything.
The stranger broke the silence. “Do you wanna team up against Fernando?”
