-- Top of the First --
Now that Amy Wood is ruled out thanks to her bunt attempt and while the next batter is walking up to the plate, now would be a good point to go over defensive alignments for the Des Moines Cheerleaders.
Game one’s starting pitcher is Edna Valentine whose frosty aura is a sharp contrast to her hot arm. Striking a magnificent figure on the mound you can see her goal today is control the field and shut down the Bikinis’ lineup.
Malinda Rose is behind the plate supporting her battery mate in every way possible. While it is not hard to complement her muscular form as she quickly helps set the infielder’s defensive positions; the argument can be made that her muscle mass could have detracted from her feminine charms.
The infield from right to left. Starting on First with Lisa Rodney towering over the rest of the players with her incredible height and presence. On second baseman, Pia Presley followed by the Shortstop, Riley Jackson. Finally for the infield and you’ve already seen her in action from third base, Holly Anderson.
Starting with the outfielders is left fielder, Carmine Fillingham, making the men in the bleacher seats drool with an over-sized bust that looks like it spill out of her uniform top. Rumor has it that she is in the neighborhood of “G” cup. Angie Alwin is the sleek, slender, sexy center fielder. And last but not least is the right fielder, Geena Bruley, who could easily have the most erotic legs in the Rocky Mountains.
The next batter due up walks towards the right handed batters’ box. Fumiko Asaiya, catcher for the Honolulu Bikinis, A slender beauty with long straight black hair framing her compounded blue eyes and petite pink mouth. The blue on her outfit comes in a few shades from royal blue to a light sky blue giving her swimsuit a hybrid look between a kimono and a one piece swimsuit. The dark blue appearing on the sash, or obi, as well as bordering the softer blue.
Art, she also managed to use a soft pink instead of the standard red on the uniform. It reminds me of color of cherry blossom trees in full bloom or a maiden’s lips during an afternoon picnic.
A magnificent choice in uniform style from a fantastic ball player. She is hitting over
five hundred on the year with almost three hundred R.B.I’s. She would have had the batting title if she could hit for more home runs.
Fumiko looks ready in the right handed box; a stern look shot back towards the pitcher. Not to be outdone, Edna is using a mean glare that has dropped the temperature in half of the infield by a few degrees. Malinda smacks her mitt a few times to either shake of the frost growing on it or to encourage the pitcher to get another out. Edna pushes off of the mound delivering a scorcher down through the strike zone for strike one.
For all the pre-pitch antics, that seemed a little too easy. Perhaps Fumiko was just sizing up Edna’s pitch for today’s match-up? I guess we will find out on this next pitch. Edna’s gone through her windup and launches another screamer. Fumiko takes a big step forward, rotating her hips, and pushing the bat through the strike zone.
Clang!
Fumiko has made contact with the low and away ball; pushing it high into the air, threatening to bring down a satellite, it arcs past third base into shallow right field. Just inside the foul line. An easy catch for Geena. Disappointment palpable on Fumiko’s face, she had rounded first turning towards second but then turns away from second as she jogs across the infield for the visitors dugout.
It’s hard to tell if Fumiko’s fantastic vision was fooled on that pitch or if she was just overpowered. The best I can say is that Edna’s pitch is moving really well tonight. I would be so bold to say that the cold beauty on the mound is in peak form tonight.
Hard to argue that point so far in this game George. Next up to bat for the Honolulu Bikinis is First Baseman Crystal Lamb. The blue on her uniform is almost covering more than a one-piece swimsuit aside from a cutout design resembling crashing waves that circles her midsection just above her waist. A power hitting right handed bat who has been scoring runs all season long.
Stolen novel; please report.
If I’m not mistaken she also has the long ball title this season at 510 feet clearing the scoreboard, stadium wall, and into the fourth floor of a nearby building. The bat was left with an impressively sized dent on the barrel. Also, I believe I see her navel in that design.
Clearly a monstrous slugger stands in the right handed box, long exaggerated warm up swings seem to move the air throughout the entire ballpark better than any air conditioner. If she was at home I could see the crowd rise and fall like waves rolling at sea.
A quick flash of signs by the catcher sets the pitcher off through her windup. A fast ball leaves the Edna’s hand on level path towards the plate. Crystal takes a step forward then jumps back from the plate. That fastball was waist high and a few ball lengths inside.
Ball one.
If looks could kill it we would see mortal combat between the pitcher and batter. With the ball returned to the pitcher the on the field atics quickly end. Lisa Rodney on first calls out two out’s from her position deep behind the bag and is quickly echoed around the infield. A quick windup and the ball is quickly on it’s way. Another big step from Crystal and her bat moves with incredible force making solid contact with the ball.
Bam!
A rocket is launched deep into left field. The ballistic trajectory of the ball will easily clear the outfield seats. The audience around the foul pole all the way up the stadium quickly jump to their feet. A monstrous shot that bounced off the stadium wall was just left of the foul pole.
Crystal gave that ball a long ride to make strike one and now after jogging past first she has to traverse the diamond to get back to the batter’s box. George, you think that blast has shaken Edna at all?
I doubt it Art; even with just being a degree off from being a run Edna is made of sterner stuff. I would not be surprised if the next ball was a strike in a similar location just to prove something.
I don’t think we will have to wait long as Edna appears ready to go to battle once more. An early inning showdown that can easily decide momentum for both teams. With players reset in position action quickly resumes.
The next pitch is sent in motion towards the strike zone low and away from crystal. Crystal takes a large step forward Hurricane Hip spinning into action sending the head of the bat through the strike zone with incredible speed. Much too fast! The pitch thrown was a slow change-up full of deception. The very tip of Crystal’s bat head barely makes contact with the slow pitch in front of the plate sending it spinning into foul territory on the right side. Spinning out of control as it slows down on the plush grass.
After ball one, a quick two strikes have threatened to end what has been a well pitched inning. The stern look on Edna’s face reveals her desire for the punch out sparking the home crowd into a quick chant to spur on the defense.
“ONE MORE STRIKE. ONE MORE STRIKE. ONE MORE STRIKE.”
It’s almost deafening early in this game from this energetic crowd. Edna has pushed off the mound, Elbow taking and extreme angle as wrist and ball snap from over her shoulder towards the plate. An odd trajectory for the speeding ball as it appears to change direction several times even seeming to rise.
Crystal once again takes a large step forward. Hurricane Hip spin providing rotational momentum to a powerful bat swing that spends the smallest amount of time traveling through the strike zone. Yet with all that power if the less than three inches of bat width does not connect with the ball it becomes a wasted effort.
The ball effortlessly falls in front of the bat bouncing off of home plate and into the catcher’s glove. Home Plate Umpire Susan McGee goes through an exaggerated arm movement signaling strike three. A loud cheer erupting from the fans as the home team walks off the field. The Super Spiral Pitch has claimed another strikeout.
