He looked pale as he leaned against the nearby wall.
Spear- As you can see what are country going to go through. We must remain together. The reason I called you here Lee. This can be prevented. Please rejoin the union and lets in Slavery other wise thousands of American's will die for nothing. And push back America development by years.
Robert puts down history book on the desk calmly before speaking.
Robert E Lee [Sothern General]- I can not. I chose to stand with Virginia. And I will not turn my back on them.
Ulysses Grant [New Head General]- Stubborn as always. You know slavery is morally wrong.

Robert E Lee- And who would that be Mister Spear.
Spear said nothing as his image faded and the image of Gorge Washington appears. This surprises everyone n the room.
Gorge Washington- Good evening General. It nice to finally meet you.
Robert E Lee- Mister Washington!?
Abraham Lincoln- So it is true. Spear can contact all of us.
Washington- Forgive me for my brief appearance. But I must ask what do you wish to gain siding with the Confederacy and betraying the Union that me and the founders built.
Robert E Lee- I need to defend my home and family Washington. It's an oath I took to my state.
Washington- Think Lee. Virginia not your home. All of America is. Also siding with one over the others is selfish. And I ask you to look at the bigger picture here.
Robert E Lee said nothing and look like he was thinking. But Lee took a deep breath and turned to Abraham.
Robert E Lee- Like I said. I will give you my response with in a few days. Until then good day Mister Presidents. As Lee left Washington and the others look disappointed.

Washington- I must go. Good luck Presidents. And I hope you all do well.
All of then look in agreement as Washington faded away and Spear reappears.
Ulysses Grant- Mister President might I recommend having men to keep an eye on him.
Abraham Lincoln- No. If he decides to side with the South so be it. We did everything we could. It will be his choice. All we can do is hope he makes the right one.
Spear- I agree. Right now we need to focus on the meeting with the house and senate. And to show what I can offer the country to get rid of slavery.
Abraham Lincoln- I hope it goes well. Considering we have everything to gain and lose.
Spear- Then let's prepare.
The screen changes to Virginia Robert E Lee inside a room with some Confederate Soldiers.
Confederate Soldier- Why have you called us here General? Don't we have a meeting with the Mayor.
Robert E Lee- We are but first I want to hear from my men. Why should we leave the Union.
The room of men had whispers. A young boy spoke fist.
Boy- Because the taxes. The market keep going up and down from Lincoln laws.
Confederate Soldier- Also he wants to ban slavery it's a right for us to own.
Many people in the room sound like they agreed with that.
Robert E Lee- Is that it.
The room fell silent and surprised at Lee's response.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Confederate Soldier- What do you mean Lee?
Robert E Lee- What I mean soldier. The will to kill fellow brothers and sisters. To just keep people as property. I want you all to think about that. If we go along with this we will be killing each other over one thing we disagree with. We American's might disagree on many things but I shall not spill the blood of our own Country men over such a thing.
Boy- So your just saying to submit to the Union Party!?
Robert E Lee- Where you even listening boy. I said no party name. If keeping Slavery is the only thing the Confederacy can offer it's people then I'm your General no more. And I recommend you all think long and hard before starting a war.
Robert E Lee gets up and leaves. The room falls silent once he's gone the room erupts in argument as the screen changes to inside Virginia office where the meeting with the Mayor and Confederate leaders.
John Letcher [Virginia Mayor]- So what is the plan to secure our peaceful separation form the Union.
Jefferson Davis [President of Confederacy]- At the moment from roomers there planning to ban slavery. So we might need to act in order to secure our independence and our right to own slaves. Along with General Lee we wont lose.
But before he could continue the Confederate soldier rushes in the room.
Confederate Soldier- Mister President!! Our General just quit!
Jefferson- What!? Why?
Confederate Soldier- He said he wont fight for nation that support slavery.
John- This isn't good President. He needs to return or we might lose support.
Jefferson- Do not worry I will speak to him. Where did he go soldier.
Confederate Soldier- He didn't say and the men I sent to follow him lost him in a crowed.
Jefferson- Hm. I might know where he is. I'll deal with this. Tell the men to get ready war nears.
As Jefferson left the room the screen changes to Washington DC Infront of the House and Senate Building. Then changes inside where politics hold history books. There's many disagreements. Until the speaker of the house gets every ones attention.
Schuyler Colfax [Speaker of the House]- Order! Today we are voting on some very impotent bills. Now we have a very impotent guest here today. With out any further notice here is the 48 President Mister Spear.
A Union Soldier walks out and places a crystal ball on the podium.
Spear- Thank you mister speaker of the house. Along with the members the senate, the house of representatives and fellow Southern States that have attended. I hope everyone has seen the future that ahead of America. We must not fight over something so simple as slavery. We must prepare for the future. And we all must prepare for the future that is to come.
As Spear continued to speak a Union Soldier walks over to Abraham Lincoln.
Union Soldier- Mister President Confederate troops have attacked many of our fortes in the south and there troops are moving to Richmond. There planning to smash through are defensives and get to Washington.
Abraham Lincoln- Just as planned . Contact General Grant to push them back by any means.
Union Soldier- Right away Mister President.

Ulysses S Grant [Head General]- Hold your fire men. But take aim.
As the Soldiers got closer they get ready to aim there Muskets but at that moment Grant gives the word.
Ulysses S Grant- Open Fire!!
Before most of the Confederates could fire back they where shot dead in lines with ease. This caused shock to many Confederates. As they went into a charge hoping to brake the line. But instead it only lead to there death. When there forces where half they began to retreat. Grant smiles.
Ulysses S Grant- All men charge push them back to Texas!
Union Soldiers- Sir yes sir!!
As the Union Soldiers charge after the Confederates the screen changes to Robert E Lee who opens a door to his house and is met with Jefferson Davis. And four of his Confederate body guards.
Jefferson Davis [President of Confederacy]- General Lee. Why have you resigned as our General.
Robert E Lee- Have a seat and I'll explain why Jefferson.
As they sat down on the porch as Mary Anna Custis Lee gives them some tea then leaves the two headed back inside.
Jefferson Davis- Thank you miss Lee. Now why did you leave. We need your help to secure victory in the North.
Robert E Lee- I took some time to think. And my beliefs no longer line up with yours. Besides I've seen what the Union is capable of. We stand no chance.
Jefferson Davis- So your just giving up. Because of those roomers about that crystal ball connecting to the future. Even if that true our people are dedicated we can win this war.
Lee took a ship of tea. But before he can speak a Confederate Soldier runs up the pathway to Lee's house. He look horrified.
Confederate Soldier- Mister President! President Davis! . .
Jefferson Davis- What's the problem soldier?
Confederate Soldier- It's the Union they repealed and destroyed the attack on Washington.
Jefferson Davis- What!? That was 100,000 men! What happened!
Confederate Soldier- They had some type of new muskets that can fire farther. Also they didn't need to reload them until they shot five times. And they have steel carriages that are able to flank us.
Jefferson Davis- What about the other fronts!
Confederate Soldier- There in full retreat. Almost all of the Generals are dead or captured sir. What should we do?
Jefferson Davis- Gather the survivors and put up a blockade around Virginia Towns. We shall not lose our rights.
Confederate Soldier- Right away Mister President.
Confederate Bodyguard- Mister President we need to get you back to Texas. If your captured the war will be over before it begins.
Jefferson Davis- One moment soldier. Lee reconsider. We can still win.
Robert E Lee- I'm sorry Jefferson. But I made up my mind. Have a good day. And good luck old friend.
Jefferson was speechless as Lee walked back into his house and closed the door. The screen changes back to the House and Senate where Abraham Lincoln takes the stand.
Abraham Lincoln- Thank you for you speech President Spear. I hate to be a burden of bad news to those who came in good faith from the South. But the Confederate Soldiers tryed to march into Washington to stop this meeting. I hate to say this but we are at war with our fellow American's. However our brave soldiers have pushed back the Confederacy. If any member of the South who are here wish to leave to you state you may leave now. And you will be returned to your South State unharmed.
Lincoln stop speaking for a few seconds but no one left.
Abraham Lincoln- Thank you for staying and you have my most gratitude and respect. These bills must pass and we must reunite the South. So I ask you the people who where chose to represent then. To unite because a house divided cannot stand.
As Lincoln stopped his speech there where claps. Lincoln had a calm smile. As the screen changes to Modern Day White House where Spear going over paperwork with his general.
Spear- Are you sure we should give these weapons to the Rough Riders. It seems a bit over kill.
Dave- I do we Mister President. The other nations watched us defeated Spain and take there place as a top power. We must make sure they know we are not just deserving but are the best.
Spear- Hm. very well. But hold back on nukes. We don't want to give them jets after all.
Dave- Ha. Don't worry basic World War Two planes will do for now. Beside after convincing most the South to join the North was well planned out sir.
Spear- It was just luck they wanted to listen. Also after seeing what we where offering them. It out weigh what ever the south could offer. Anyways lets get ready to aid Spanish American War.
Dave- Right away Mister President.
As Dave smile along with Spear the screen fades to black.
