It was almost evening when we arrived at the palace. I was not sure how long it took us to arrive here because I had been asleep for most of the journey.
I was astounded by the palace’s grandeur. In front, a fountain adorned with little angel statues was surrounded by various kinds of plants and flowers. Beyond the fountain, a massive marble stair led up to a large golden door, guarded by two knights standing at the palace entrance.
The knights I had travelled with identified themselves, and we were then permitted to enter. We were greeted by an elderly butler wearing a monocle, accompanied by four maids.
We walked through a massive corridor, decorated with expensive furniture and enormous chandeliers. I wasn’t paying much attention to the people around me; instead, I was scanning the place, mesmerized by the beauty of the structure in front of me.
“Goddess, I am Benedict, the head butler of the Imperial Palace.” the butler introduced himself.
“Ah! Yes?” I replied, my face flushed with embarrassment.
“You must be tired from your journey. I’ll escort you to your room. You’ll have an audience with His Majesty tomorrow morning.”
I nodded and smiled at the welcoming butler.
The knights stayed behind as I was led to a room that was at least ten times the size of my apartment.
I stood there, mouth agape.
“Goddess, you can change into these clothes.” one of the maids said, holding out a set of garments.
“Let us know if you need help getting change.” another maid added.
“Huh? A-ah. I can change by myself, thank you. You can leave for now.” I replied with a smile.
“All right, goddess, we’ll be just outside if you need anything.” the maid said before they left the room.
As soon as they were gone, I ran towards the bed and jumped on it, letting out a burst of giggles.
A while later, I lay on my back, staring at the ceiling, marveling at how everything in this place felt like heaven. For a moment, I wondered if I had actually died when I fell from the sky, and all this was just a result of that.
“It’s so comfortable and beautiful here. Too bad I’ll be back in my apartment tomorrow. I wish I could return to this world during summer vacation, but my manager at the coffee shop probably wouldn’t approve my leave.” I sighed in dismay.

I scanned the room and noticed a vanity on the right side of the room. I stood up and went straight to it. I checked my forehead to see if the mark was still there, I was nonchalant when I did not see it anymore.
After checking my forehead, I realized I was still wearing the cape that the white-haired knight had lent me, as well the clothes I had worn at the bar. I quickly undressed, put on the long-sleeved night gown the maids had provided, and then went to bed, drifting off to sleep.

She was sitting beside a tree in front of the lake she often visited. She was quietly writing a poem when someone suddenly stood in front of her.
She peeked at the feet of the individual standing before her, then slowly lifted her head up to see who it was. She frowned when she recognized that it was Eros who had brought another arrangement of flowers.
“Eros, I told you to stop giving me flowers. You’re destroying them by picking them up almost every day.” she said, a hint of frustration in her voice.
“It’s fine; Demeter can replace them anytime.” he replied while grinning cheerfully.
Urania shook her head, stood up, and began to walk away from the stubborn god of love.
“Please have lunch with me. The other gods are having a feast at the central palace.” Eros called after her.
Urania stopped and looked back at him, showing a faint smile she said, “You should go and eat with them. I already ate.”
“… Urania,” he whispered while having a gloomy face.

“Hmm, it’s a dream about that woman again.” I mumbled. rubbing my eyes as I woke up.
I heard knocks from behind the door, and shortly after, the maids asked if I was awake.
“Yes, come on in.” I replied.
The maids from the previous day entered, carrying a few dresses.
“We’ll help you bathe and get ready, goddess.”
“… The bathing part is not necessary. You can help with the dress and hair.” I responded, laughing awkwardly.
After I finished bathing, they let me choose from the three dresses they brought. That one specific dress piqued my interest- a light pink sleeveless halter top dress with a wrap around my neck and a bow at the nape. The skirt was made of chiffon fabric, which made it flowy.
After I put on the dress, they seated me in front of the vanity to apply light makeup, set my hair into a bun, and accessorized me with earrings and a bracelet.
I saw the maids gazing and smiling at me. I smiled back at them and thanked them for their effort.
*Knock, knock*
“It’s me, goddess.” came the voice of the white-haired knight from the day before.
I stood up and headed towards the door, but before I could reach the door handles, the maids had already opened it for me.
I looked up to see the white-haired knight gazing at me.
“Good morning, Sir Knight.” I greeted him with a smile.
He replied with a bow.
…
“By the way, Sir, I still don’t know what your name is. Would you mind telling me? Just so I know what to call you.” I asked as we walked through the open corridor on our way to the audience hall.
Before he even got the chance to respond, we reached the doors to the audience hall. He held the doorknob and faced me, “I will tell you once the meeting with the Emperor is done.”
To be continued.
