Chapter 6 - One Month of Training and Meeting the Princess

A month had passed since the surgery that caused Damon to Manifest.

Like he had previously thought, Nox and Natasha's training was as strange as them. It revolved around abusing his nigh-unstoppable healing factor and constantly breaking his body and letting it build itself back up into a state stronger than before. It allowed him to slowly control his instincts as both a Ghoul and a Werewolf and gave him more control over himself.

As such, he'd already graduated to a less suppressive lock on his wrist and could use even more power than before.

When he'd just done the tests he was about 10x stronger than he was when he was a 'normal' human, so he could lift about 3000kg but now he had an increase of about 1000kg, so he could now lift 4000kg.

Natasha had told him that he could soon take the suppressive lock off and have access to an overall strength of 4500kg. He was happy with his progress but he was curious about why his body didn't seem to get stronger from the training as much as it should.

Well, that was until Natasha explained to him that he wouldn't gain much in physical improvement until the lock was fully removed, plus he hadn't unlocked Aura yet.

Other than being beaten constantly, Damon had been learning from Natasha about things he'd need to know. The history of some of the races (mainly vampires in Damon's case), some history about wars and the like but what he enjoyed the most was the lessons about Aura.

Aura was Damon's only route to power because of his non-existent talent for Magic. Aura was the life-force of a creature, everyone had it but it took talent to be able to sense it and even more talent to be able to use it. Luckily, these talented people weren't that few so, in the end, these talented people became the norm in Supernatural society.

Aura is made by the body and kept there but if you have an Aura manual you can learn how to harvest it and use it to both permanently and temporarily enhance the body. It can also be used for Energy Attacks, similar to Ki Attacks in Dragonball.

Damon couldn't gain access to a manual until he joined the academy but that didn't stop him from being able to learn the theory behind Aura Control and how best to use it and train it.

Anyway, he didn't have long to wait until he joined the academy anyway. The first day was only 3 days away and he was set to meet Princess Mika tomorrow to get settled into the new house they would both be living in.

Damon's stomach rumbled and he looked down at his stomach in confusion; this was another question that had been plaguing him since the start of the month.

The question is that he was always hungry and the even weirder part is that his diet was simply, well, to put it nicely, 'unique'.

Damon walked to the kitchen from the training room and saw both Natasha and Nox talking about something that he couldn't quite hear despite his incredibly keen senses. Not that he particularly cared anyway, his now-common indifferent face not showing his emotions or inner thoughts in any way.

Damon walked to the freezer and opened it before taking out a few packs of things. As Damon looked at these things there was a faint light of disgust but it soon disappeared as he sat at the table in the kitchen.

Looking at the packs, or better said, bags, Damon opened one and poured the contents into his mouth. The dark red liquid poured into his mouth and down his throat, sending a shiver of pleasure down his spine with a soon followed shiver of disgust.

The liquid as you might have guessed was blood. This, along with raw meat, was his new diet and he had yet to truly get used to it no matter how detached he was.

Despite his uneasiness at eating these things, he couldn't help but feel that they had a truly amazing taste nonetheless which honestly made it easier to eat.

When Damon asked Natasha about this she simply shrugged her shoulders and said that Hybrids usually exhibit more traits because of the mixture of the races in their body. This mixture made it so their human side was slightly outnumbered and was practically forced to allow more inhuman traits to be shown by the body.

Despite this being a big problem mainly with Hybrids, other normal Manifested Humans still exhibited some of these unsavory traits. Some Zombies liked to eat Human Flesh and Brains, Some Angels and Demons don't need food and Jiang Shi like Natasha may need to absorb life-force to stay alive.

Damon knew from the information he'd been given about Princess Mika that she also drank blood, her Vampire Manifestation being unnaturally strong compared to others and meaning she also had these traits.

Damon undid another few blood bags and poured the red liquid into his mouth like a glutton of some kind. A part of him was getting uneasy, so he stopped drinking the blood and picked up a raw stack of ribs and started taking chunks out of it, bones and all.

His werewolf side was much easier to get used to compared to the Ghoul's need for Human blood. This was because the Werewolf side just needed the raw meat of any kind and it was satisfied.

When he thought about it, Damon thought it was weird that he had 2 different parts of him that had 2 different diets and he had to please both of them but regardless he got on with it anyway.

After finishing his meal, Damon left the kitchen and the still talking Nox and Natasha and went back to the training room. He wanted to do some light exercise so he could be in optimal condition for tomorrow when he meets his new boss.

Despite his strength not really increasing through the training, his body's sturdiness had increased incredibly so. If before his skin and muscles would be penetrated by a knife, now the knife would probably chip against his muscles.

Damon didn't mind about his strength not increasing anyway because Natasha had told him about the fact his physical strength would be unmatched in the D-Class.

Despite not knowing what she meant by D-Class, Damon didn't ask her because if she wanted to tell him she would have. He could only assume that she knew he'd learn about it in the academy.

Putting on some weighted clothes made from an incredibly dense metal, Damon started to do push-ups, sit-ups, squats and then pull-ups on a special machine that could handle the weight.

Damon's idea of a light workout would completely stump most D-Class Supernatural creatures into pissing themselves at the harshness of it.

The next day~

Damon stood outside a pretty big house and looked around and saw it was surrounded by other big and expensive looking houses.

He looked at himself in the reflection of the glass on the door and saw how nicely he was dressed, all to pass the time while he waited for the door to be opened.

He had a black dress shirt and along with matching black dress pants and black dress shoes which completed his look of professionality. The only thing dragging it back a bit was the fact his shirt had a few buttons at the top undone and his sleeves were rolled up past his elbows.

Both showing that he was quite well-muscled and exercised often.

While he was admiring himself, his Ghoul instincts making him surprisingly vain, the door was opened by a black-haired, red-eyed beauty.

"Damon Jaeger?" Her voice was incredibly cold as she spoke to Damon. She looked at him with an attitude that said he didn't care.

Damon's face stayed indifferent as he nodded at the cold beauty in front of him and was led into the house. He didn't really care how they looked at him, or even what they felt about him because Damon just wanted to do his job nothing else.

When he walked into the house, he noticed it was a bit dim with all the curtains closed and the lights put on a low setting via a dimmer switch.

Not that it affected Damon's ability to see in the slightest, he just felt it was weird as from what he knew Vampires were only annoyed by the sun unlike how they were in the books; turned into ash by the sun.

'Whatever, she can do what she wants, she's the boss afterall.'

As he was inside he got a better look at the girl in front of him. She was quite short at around 5ft but she was still quite well endowed and curvy but at the same time well-toned like she was a warrior of some kind.

Damon continued to curiously look at the girl leading him upstairs, she noticed but for some reason despite looking annoyed she didn't say anything. Not that Damon was looking at her in a sexual manner, instead he was looking at her because he thought of a possibility; she was also gonna be guarding the Princess with him.

Pushing this thought to the back of his head, he and the short girl in front of him walked into a big room which looked like a study.

When Damon saw the princess sitting at a desk with some slim glasses on, even he, someone detached from most things in the world, felt his heart beat a little quicker.

She seemed even more beautiful than the pictures he'd already seen.

'I guess being her bodyguard isn't so bad after all...'

POV Change - Mika Tepes

'I truly hope my sisters don't make it too hard for my faction in the Academy...And I can also only hope that this Damon Jaeger who's been assigned to me isn't worthless as well.'

Mika Tepes despite being a princess had always been very hands-on with her work. She wished to do her very best at whatever she could because of the fact she'd been outshined by her sisters most of her life.

This caused her to be quite humble, for a princess at least, and when she Manifested her strong Vampire side after the surgery it allowed her to burst forward and make her own faction.

Right now she was currently planning for how she could use her forces to go up against her oldest sister, Tanya Tepes. Her oldest sister had been pretty hostile to her for her entire life even when Mika possessed no threat to her, so Tanya would no doubt be even more hostile now that Mika was trying to make moves in the fight between the multiple siblings for the throne of the Vampires.

As she was going over her plans the door opened to reveal her first personal bodyguard, Hikari, walking into the room followed by a tall man.

"Mika-sama, this is the Hybrid sent by your Mother to protect you, his name is Damon Jaeger." Hikari's voice was as polite as usual which caused Mika to feel saddened slightly. She really wished to be friends with Hikari but alas Hikari was always too formal.

Mentally shrugging at this, Mika looked at the tall figure currently standing still in the middle of her study.

She traced her eyes quickly over his body and while she couldn't exactly see most of his muscles, she could feel how much power was compacted into his body and how densely concentrated it all was which caused a small gasp to unknowingly escape her mouth.

She looked up at his face and saw how handsome he was which caused her to secretly nod her head.

'A princess like me can't have an ugly bodyguard, now can I?~'

His white hair looked quite soft and smooth and Mika wanted to pat it slightly; the hair looked like it belonged to a fluffy dog rather than a person.

She looked at his face again and realized how detached and indifferent he looked and looked into his bright golden eyes. She saw indifference, a sort of sadness and then she saw nothing.

As someone who'd grown up in battles between the royal children, she prided herself on being able to see a person's intentions but with Damon, she could see anything beyond indifference and detachment which seemed like a big cloud of blackness despite his bright eyes.

She looked more closely, using her unique Vampire Ability, Empathy and looked more intently at his eyes. What she saw caused her to freeze for a second.

Underneath his indifference, Mika saw brutality, unlike anything she'd ever seen before. She has seen professionally trained torturers with less of a brutal and vicious glint in their eyes compared to this 16-year-old boy.

Besides the brutal glint in his eyes, there was a kind of sadistic glee which seemed to relish in giving out and causing pain in others, if this emotion was given a face it would no doubt be twisted in a vicious-looking Cheshire cat-like smile.

But when she dug a little deeper, she saw something she'd never forget; an urge to kill, so strong it felt like she was looking into a bloodbath or a mass slaughter.

She felt quite shaken by what she'd seen and canceled the ability while also promising herself that she'd never deploy it on this man ever again. But as if to go against her views on him, Damon's face was spread in a gentle smile.

Mika saw that other than his indifference, loyalty seemed to be pouring out of his eyes. And then he kneeled on one knee and spoke.

"Your loyal bodyguard is here, Mika-sama." his deep and calm voice sent shivers through Mika's body.

'Maybe...just maybe he can be useful after all...'
