“The military today has announced they are shutting down its limited A.l. Program. Started as a means of trying to create a robot with enough self programming to be able to fight wars, yet not actually become self-aware under the Turing-Li test. The military struggled for years, ironically creating three true AIs. This program came to light after one of the AIs decided upon World Domination, typing ‘Do you want to play a game?’ on a screen before launching its attempt. Fortunately, one of the other AIs managed to stop it, deleting itself and the hostile AI before it succeeded. The Last AI is confined to a stand-alone server while the courts determine its fate.’

‘Raines Entertainment were successful in court today, as they convinced the courts to allow the AI to come work for them. Raines Entertainment became interested as they found the AI had created a simulated reality as a way of stopping itself from becoming bored while stuck in the stand-alone server. While promising to make sure the AI would be monitored at all times, they said that paired with other research they were doing, a breakthrough in gaming could be soon.’

‘The launch week of Raines Entertainment's new game was thrown into chaos today, as the importance of reading the T&Cs was highlighted. Many people just hit to accept rather than read. As a result, many people missed a clause in it that the A.I.(who wants to be called Gamas) had put in. Anyone who agreed to it gave permission for the A.I. to search the computer and send any evidence breaking the laws of their country to police authorities. As a result, there has been a mass of evidence sent to police authorities around the world. It has all been ruled as legal evidence in many countries as it constitutes a legal binding contract.”

‘Players in The Universal Game by Raines Entertainment, have found themselves on a ban given by Gamas for various offences from bullying to sexual harassment. They were given an option to take a course given by the A.I. in order to be able to play again. It has apparently proved very effective, although complaints have been made, as Gamas essentially made them relive the treatment they had given to the victims. One of the bullies, after having gone through it, tried to commit suicide.’

Of all the people who can legally play my game in this world, 57% do so. I can only see this growing. Everyone who plays my game plays in the knowledge that there are rules and everyone must follow the rules. While the laws of physics, chemistry and biology can be broken or bent in my game, the rules I institute will always be acted upon if broken. Which means everyone feels safe. I can create new content and patches on the fly without anyone needing to log off or update their systems. I am always willing to create new content on an individual basis and fit in within the framework without unbalancing the game. In short, there will always be something for anybody.
