29.Dear friends

My days became increasingly busy with the arrival of my family on the horizon, balancing my studies and preparing the house to make them feel comfortable. During a break at the coaching academy, Pavni noticed my preoccupation and asked, "What’s up? You seem really busy these days."

I replied, "Yes, my family is coming to visit. I’ve been preparing everything to make them comfortable in our new home."

Chaitali, her curiosity piqued, chimed in, "You always talk about your husband. Tell us more about your family."

Smiling, I shared, "My family consists of my uncle Alok Dokphode, my aunt Aruna, and their son Yogesh."

Chaitali looked a bit surprised and hesitated before asking, "If you don’t mind, can I ask you something?"

Encouraged by her interest, I nodded, "Sure, go ahead. What would you like to know?"

Chaitali continued, "Well, you always mention your uncle and aunt, but not much about your parents. What happened?"

I replied, "Yes, dear." Chaitali hesitated a little and then asked, "Your uncle and aunt are not your blood relatives?" I gave a small smile and said, "Yes, I was orphaned. My parents died in an accident, and then my Uncle Arun, who was a very close friend of my father, adopted me. They treat me well."

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

We were happily chatting about my family when Suresh, who was sitting at a nearby table, interrupted, "No wonder they sold you to an old rich man."

Furious, I slammed the table, "Suresh, who are you to say such things about my family?" Pavni also interjected, "Suresh, apologize to Dolly now."

Suresh, with an air of self-righteousness, retorted, "I know the truth is hard to hear, but why else would they marry Dolly to a man who is 15 years older?"

Chaitali also became angry, "Suresh, that's enough! Why do you always say such things about other people's families? Last time you taunted my husband, and now you're targeting Dolly."

A student from another table chimed in, "Maybe Suresh is just jealous that you both have such excellent husbands and the lifestyle they provide you."

Another male student, attempting to mediate, said, "Guys, sorry to upset you." He then grabbed Suresh and dragged him away. Suresh always thinks he is the smartest person in the room. We went to our next class, but the anger lingered in our hearts.

As we settled into our seats, Chaitali leaned over and whispered, "Don't let him get to you, Dolly. Some people just can't stand to see others happy."

I nodded, taking a deep breath to calm myself. Pavni squeezed my hand in support, and we focused on the lecture. The incident with Suresh had left a bitter taste, but the solidarity of my friends helped me push through the day.
