「Really, thank you very much ! 」

Yuka is bowing deeply towards Ren while saying words of thanks after they went through the gate.

Ren has a troubled face as he never received a proper thanks before in his life.

「Well…that’s fine already. Now, for our promise……」

「A-Ahh yes. Sure, ‘showing you around the city and become your advisor when you need to ask something’, is what we promised right?」

「Correct」

Ren smiled answering Yuka’s serious face.

She seems to be the kind of person that switches gears really fast when it comes to responsibility and promises.

(She’s quite a responsible person for her age huh……)

Back in where Ren lived, people in early 20s made stupid decisions and got their lives messed up all the time.

That said, seeing a matured and serious person like Yuka at the age of 21 put a smile on Ren’s face.

「T-Then let us begin the tour」

「Alright. I’ll be in your care」

The two started to walk around the city right after.

Ren didn’t state that she has to show him around right away, but seeing her stiff face Ren decided not to point it out.

The city was quite typical of a fantasy medieval-like town one usually see in games all the time. The buildings were built from bricks or stones, but the substance that connected everything together wasn’t cement.

「This is the Main District, the center of all activities, from trading, paperwork, to business with the Guild……」

As Yuka explained with a calm voice, Ren followed behind her while thinking about unrelated stuff.

(What if she acts this way while wearing a seductive attendant uniform? Ooooh my ‘son’ reacted just imagining it)

The main street the two people are walking on is the center of this district. Merchant shops, weapon shops, armor shops, etc. could be seen on the sides of the road.

There are also food stalls here and there, which made Ren’s stomach growled a little.

Yuka used her knowledge as an adventurer to give Ren advice on which shop should he go to depending on the amount of money inside his pocket.

Staring at Yuka’s straight back from behind, Ren thought that she’s such a strong woman.

But he didn’t know that her face on the front was cramped and nervous as this is the first time she walks around with a man. She’s only putting on a firm voice to hide her true emotions.

Surely, Ren could’ve checked the status screen and find out that Yuka’s nervous through looking at her heart rate. But this time around he didn’t feel any need to check.

「Then this is the High-class District. Nobles and luxurious services are in here……」

‘Even brothels in there are 3 times the price of normal ones’, added Yuka with a red face. She’s quite embarrassed to talk about things like this as she’s an inexperienced virgin.

「Pfffft. You’re cute. I didn’t think I would see that kind of face on you」

「Whaa—please forget what you just saw ! !  A-And……c-c-c-cute ? 」

Ren spoke his mind honestly since he didn’t have any reason not to.

Yuka is certainly a beautiful woman, Ren simply stated the fact that she had a cute expression.

Yet it was also the first time someone gave Yuka that kind of comment about her appearance.

「That’s right. What’s the matter ? 」

「E-Errh……No-Nothing ! !  It’s nothing…really 」

Yuka turned her heels and started walking again, her armor made some metallic sounds. It makes Ren wonder how much weight it put onto her slender body.

Certainly, Yuka’s body wasn’t fragile in the slightest. If she fought a man in Ren’s world, who has been living in peace time, she’d surely break his bones in a flash.

But still, upon seeing her slim figure without any prominent muscle inside that clanking lump of metal armor, Ren couldn’t help but want to do something about it.

Thus he called up the status menu and tuned the weight of Yuka’s equipment down a little without making its performance decrease. He didn’t make it too light since he doesn’t really want Yuka to notice.

Continuing the tour, the two chatted happily along the way.

「So this is the Freedom Guild」

「Yes. This is where adventurers gather and receive their work」

Opening the door of a huge 3 story building, Ren was a bit surprised at the fact that a fantasy world could build this kind of fancy architecture without modern technology like back on Earth.

(An other-world with swords and magic sure is cool huh……)

The pair entered the building.

For some reasons, the whole place turned quiet immediately. Every gaze was glued onto Yuka and Ren as they walked towards a counter. Ren felt a mysterious unease as he observed the expressions of the people around.

「Yuka-sama, how can I help you today?」

A gentleman in a business suit greeted Yuka as she stood in front of the counter.

‘Yuka…sama?’, thought Ren tilting his head at the unexpected respectful way of addressing Yuka. But he soon found out the truth behind the way the receptionist called Yuka.

「Yeah I’m turning in the request a few days ago. Here’s the proof…and the report…」

Yuka pulled out various things from her medium-sized waist bag and placed them onto the counter. The receptionist accepted the items and brought it back inside.

Then Yuka called Ren, who’s standing a few steps behind Yuka, over and had him stand next to her before the counter. The gazes of people around still have not lifted from the pair.

「So, here in the Freedom Guild, if you turn in drops from monsters you can get some pocket money aside from request rewards」

Yuka explained about how one could just subjugate any monster and turn the proof in for money.

Hearing the explanation, Red nodded as he thought that making money won’t be too hard to him. He can just go out and slay some absurd monsters for huge sums of money.

(But as expected…it’s better to do requests to raise fame…)

Recalling his time being the unpopular guy during high school makes Ren want to sigh.

But right now, he has the power to become famous easily.

(I’ll be a famous friendly adventurer outside……and a schemer who stirs up the world behind the scenes……)

Thinking about such things, Ren laughed in his heart and continued listening to Yuka’s explanation.

Before long, the receptionist returned with a bag on his hand. Jingling sounds of metal could be heard as he placed the big pouch onto the counter desk. Seems like it’s a bag of coins.

「This is the promised rewards, Yuka-sama. 50 gold coins and 40 silver coins」

「Thank you」

Yuka took the bag and handed over a card. It seems to be some kind of adventurer card as the receptionist cast magic on it and returned it back to Yuka.

「Then, is there anything else I can do for you today?」

「Ah yes, this person here also wants to register at the Guild……」

Pointing at Ren standing next to her, Yuka continued:

「……I’d say he’s stronger than me, but I guess you guys can’t just put him on high ranking?」

「Yes. That is correct, we have to follow the pro—」

The receptionist put a hand on his ear and widened his eyes a little as if listening to a sudden phone call.

Soon he turned back to Yuka and spoke with a troubled face.

「I am sorry, but regarding the registration of this person, the Guild Master wants to meet him」

‘Me?’, Ren tilted his head and asked blankly.

Yuka also stared at the receptionist asking why does the Guild Master need to meet Ren for registration.

The process normally is just filling out a paper and let a crystal ball recognize the person’s distinctive aura.

Yuka never heard of a case where one needs to meet the Guild Master for registration so she’s also bewildered.

「The Guild Master said through telepathy that he’ll apologize and explain everything when they meet」

「Well…I guess that’s fine? Please lead the way」

「Wait…if that’s the case then I’ll follow him, he doesn’t really know much about how things work here」

Yuka requested to follow since she thinks that Ren, a person completely new to this Kingdom, would run into trouble dealing with people with a position like the Guild Master. She knows well how people become sly to keep their work in check.

But the receptionist said with an apologetic expression

「I’m sorry Yuka-sama. Arnold-sama said that you can’t follow him」

「What? Why?」

「Alright alright…I’ll be fine. We’ll continue the tour after this, you okay with that?」

「W-Well…okay…if you say so. If it’s Ren-san then I guess it’s fine」

Though reluctant, Yuka let go of wanting to follow Ren.

Ren himself just smiled and turned back to the receptionist.

「OK. Now please lead the way」

「Yes. This way please」

While walking into the back of the counter an into a separate room, Ren called up the status menu and inspected the people he were about to meet.
