Ryan Hunter is dying. In order to preserve his life, he downloads his consciousness into an experimental full immersion sci-fi game known as Cosmic Horizons.Ryan starts his new life as his old streaming avatar, a cybernetic space orc named Orion. But when he touches the portal to the starting area, a critical glitch occurs and nearly kills Orion in the process. He wakes up in the ruins of a colony ship, long abandoned on a barren desert planet without so much as a tutorial. Now Orion has to learn how to survive on a hostile planet with only his wits, his extensive knowledge of games, and this gun he found. It's not all fun and games on this unknown alien world. Orion has to contend with toxic air, dangerous sandstorms, cybernetic beasts and mutant robots. But as he improved his living conditions, Orion learns that he's not alone. When the colonists start to wake up from stasis, he realizes there's more at stake than mere survival. He has to foster this growing community, and fulfill his role as their protector. He must become a Star Sentinel.
