Chapter 11

Chapter 11

The Star Cats reached the parking lot. Everybody was jumping into their hover vehicles and driving off. Those who didn’t have transportation just ran down the street.

Tyger and his team approached an empty yellow hover jeep.

After Red placed Patterson into the trunk, Tyger hopped onto the driver seat.

“Oh! Oh!” Jage shouted while jumping up and down. “I want to drive!”

Tyger put his claw into the keyhole incision. “Not now!”

“But I promise I won’t crash this time!”

“Not this time!” Tyger turned the incision, and the engine roared to life. The jeep levitated off the ground.

Jage rolled his eyes and sat next to Tyger.

After the rest of the team hopped into the jeep, Tyger placed his foot on the pedal and drove out of the parking lot. It moved through the bushes and down the street.

Through the city, burning debris and falling ships crashed into the buildings and exploded. People were screaming and panic was rising up.

Tyger pushed the pedal down harder, speeding up the jeep. He drove past other hover cars and a big hover truck blocked his path.

He turned off the street, speeding across a sidewalk. The civilians in his path jumped out of the way.

Tyger kept steering while Jage held onto the dashboard.

“Wow!” Jage shouted. “You are crazy like me!”

“Be careful!” Patterson shouted. “Running over the civilians is against the law!”

“I am well aware of that, sir!” Tyger shouted.

He spotted a couple sitting at a dining table near a coffee shop. He quickly made a sharp right turn, zooming past the civilians, and returning to the street.

High above, a building exploded at the top. Bodies and debris, covered in flames, rained down upon the hover jeep.

Tyger zig-zagged the jeep, moving from left to right, dodging each fallen debris.

Straight ahead, a starship crashed into the bottom of a tall skyscraper, exploding across the street. The building tipped over and crashed into the street. Smoke and debris exploded from the impact, sending the smoke toward the jeep.

Tyger turned the wheel, making a sharp left turn to the next street, avoiding the smoke. The street led him up a path to a bridge where the freeway was clear.

While driving across the freeway bridge, the starbase plunged through the city. It was crashing through the buildings, knocking everything down in its path. The starbase crashing behind the freeway bridge, reaching toward the hover jeep.

“Holy crap!” Patterson shouted. “It’s going to hit us!”

Tyger noticed there was a freeway tunnel straight ahead. The people built it through the tall mountain behind the city.

He narrowed his eyes at the tunnel. “Hold on!”

He pushed the pedal down, blasting the jeep forward toward the tunnel. If they could make it through the tunnel, they should become safe from the crashing space station.

Tyger could hear the crashing station growing louder behind the hover jeep. It was getting close!

The hover jeep drove through the tunnel at the station stopped. As the tunnel shook, the hover jeep zoomed past other hover vehicles, trying to escape too. A large chunk of rocks was falling down from the tunnel ceiling too.

Tyger turned to the left and to the right, avoiding the falling rocks. Up ahead, a boulder landed on a hover tanker, and then it exploded.

The explosion of flames and smoke blocked the jeep’s path. Tyger glared and kept driving. There was only one way to go through it.

He kept driving forward as the hover jeep flew through the blaze. It was only a second that the jeep went through the flames.

After the hover jeep came out of the tunnel, Tyger dropped his mouth. There was heavy traffic, blocking on the street in the second city of Bay City.

Tyger slammed his foot on the brake pedal, but the jeep hit the back of a yellow hover truck. The impact sent him flying off the seat, and he crashed through a double door on a hover van before he blacked out.
