THIRD CHANCE

“Gasp!”

She sprang up from her bed, precipitating. Her head was hurting as if a million needles were piercing through it. She looked around frantically.

“How… how on eath is this possible? I died, that explosion clearly killed me,”

She ran towards the giant mirror in the corner of her room.

“White hair, red eyes, and that doll-like figure ,”

She couldn't believe her eyes. Even after pinching herself, she still couldn’t accept the fact that she came back to her previous life.

“KNOCK, KNOCK” there was a loud knock on the door. A young girl around 17 years entered. She stopped midway as soon as she entered.

“Miss, are you not felling well?” she asked in astonished tone.

“Eva!, Eva!” she ran towards her with teary eyes and hugged her.

“Um.. miss, did you have a bad dream or something?”

She wiped her tears and clucked, “Trust me, it was the worst”

“Well miss, would you like to bathe or eat?”

“Food, lots and lots of food. I am famished,”

Eva bowed gracefully and left the room. Eva used to a child assassin, who was left to die after a failed mission. Her brown hair and eyes, which were extremely common look combined with her age and petite look, all her enemies perished at her hand easily.

“I became Eden Blanchester again,”

She aimlessly thought as she ate her breakfast. She had returned to the year 100 according to the imperial calender when she was 14 years old.

Suddenly, she jumped from her seat and went to her wardrobe. She shuddered at the sight. They had filled it with all kinds of gaudy dresses and ornaments. Thinking back, she couldn’t believe at her naïve and exorbitant lifestyle.

“Sigh, the hell was wrong with me?”

“Miss, are you going out?”

“No, could you burn all of this? For me"

Eva stared at her with a blank expression. “I beg your pardon, miss, but did you ask me to burn them"?

“Yeah,”

“All of them?”

Eva couldn’t believe her ears. Ever since she pledged her life to Eden, she always followed her. Even when she brought those disgusting dresses and spend all her allowance on useless things. Eva never complained about her employer’s foolishness. But for the first time, Eden had said something sensible, even if it was late, Eden did something any sane person would do.

“My lady, not to worry. I will burn and even wash away their ashes. But my lady, if you do that, you won’t have any dress to wear,” she said in a worried tone.

“Not to worry, I will ask sister. Now get me ready, I want to see big sis, mom, dad and bro,”

After a long time, the excitement of seeing her parents made her giddy. After getting ready, she opened her door and ran down the corridor, seeing all the familiar faces of servants and the interior designs. She felt nostalgic.

Eden ran down the stairs and entered the office where her mother and sister were taking care of financial records.

“Oh my!, Eden, what happened?” Eden couldn’t control her tears. Her mother’s sweet yet stern voice rang through her ears. All her life as Luna, she longed for her mother.

Eden’s mother Abela, a tall, gentle and graceful looking woman with golden hair and red eyes. Beside her sat her elder sister Amelia, 7 years older than her. She resembled Eden’s mother. They look more like twin sisters than mother and daughter.

Eden ran towards them and started sobbing uncontrollably. She let all her pent up regret snd sorrow that had accumulated over the years.

Both of them looked at Eden with a puzzled look and then at Eva, who was standing near the door, but all she could do was shake her head.

Amelia patted Eden’s head. They stayed like this until Eden calmed down.

Later on, she calmed down. The three of them talked for an hour. She then met her father and brother in the raining grounds, and again she cried her eyes out, remembering their brutal murder. Eden’s father, Lucius Blanchester, a tall lean built man with silver hair and golden eyes and her brother, Brutus, a 13-year-old knight apprentice, both were drawing out their swords, thinking that someone had broken Eden’s heart.

Finally, after a hectic day filled with joyful reunion and uncontrollable sob, she felt like sleeping for days.

“Oi!, where the hell are we and why on earth are you weeping so much?” asked a familiar voice
